Charlie Sheen has apologised to his fans and insisted he won’t suffer the same fate as Michael Jackson and Hollywood actor Heath Ledger.

The scandal-hit star, whose recent bizarre rants and booze and drug-fuelled benders have landed him in hot water with his CBS bosses, who have since shut down his Two And A Half Men show, spoke candidly to entertainment website TMZ earlier today.

Sheen also insisted he will not follow the same path as fellow actor Heath Ledger and music legend Michael Jackson, who both died from prescription medication overdoses.

“It’s not a one size fits all, that’s what people seem to don’t get,” he said. “That’s all I’m gonna say about it. Don’t do drugs that are just supposed to be administered in hospital at home. Read the warnings, read the back labels, read the directions guys, do freakin’ homework…

He added: “When I’ve been completely left behind, twisting in the wind like some sucker getting shanked in the yard on top of everything else, I don’t understand what I did wrong except live a life that you all get jealous of.”

You're right, it's not funny at all. The LOL wasn't used on a funny way, but with a sarcastic note. I apologize for the confusion.

I couldn't smile when I read it either. It actually made me angry.

It's like he's saying: take all the drugs you want, just make sure you read the "manual" first. It's ridiculous, he should have better kept his mouth shut.

Re: Charlie Sheen giving advice on drugs (sarcastic LOL) (MJ related)

MICHAEL JACKSON DID NOT DIE OF A PRESCRIPTION DRUG OVERDOSE. FACT.
I am so sick of reading this total lie.

Michael was murdered by his physician Charlie.. Why didn't Michael's physician, a heart specialist, not know that you don't give propofol at home? and this is not funny at all Webbie

Stacy, did you read my previous message?
As mentioned before, I already apologised.
I don't think it is funny at all, that is why I said: with a sarcastic note (because there is nothing funny about it)

I added it because of the fact that Sheen thinks he can give advice on drugs. After everything... Really? He should better give a good example, instead of a useless explanation, that doesn't make sense and that hasn't been based on the truth either.

I'll remove it from the title, will that be better?

Sheen better wean off from his drugs (like completely) before speaking so ignorantly about something that serious. Jackson died at the hand of a horrible doctor (person), he was suffering from insomnia, was hard at work for his upcoming concerts, not binging and getting high and party hard like the likes of Sheen have done; it's like comparing apples with oranges. *smh*

Why is this news??

Michael was killed.

I agree.. that pisses me off too.. Propofol is not a prescription drug.. It is not prescribed for anything. Murray used it and killed Michael. Charlie Sheen needs to shut the hell up

Charlie is in no position to talk after all the news he's made recently. "Read the directions"? Don't make me laugh!

I like Sheen as an actor but his personal life has gone way overboard. I hope everything works out for him.

I understand what you mean. I took it as funny because of the fact that Charlie Sheen is giving drug advice.

Charlie Sheen is a joke now, sure he's a talented actor but he's decided that booze and drugs are more important to him. Whatever Charlie, come back to me after you've stopped kidnapping porn stars.

I seen him on tv this morning..he looked absolutely terrible...he is not in any position to be giving anyone advice about drugs...I am glad he is getting help.

tell that to the doctor.not the paitent.

Charlie never mentioned Michael, the author did.

His quote was taken from an interview with TMZ. He was asked about the similarity between his drug problem and Michael Jackson.

what? Charlie is a crack head.. MJ was killed by his doctor with anesthesia. There is absolutely no similarity at all. I am sick and tired of that. That is why I hope Murray is convicted and found culpable for what he did to Michael.

Charlie is a case of his own but he's right, read the labels of drugs you take even if prescribed, and do research first and don't take anything at home that should be given in a hospital setting.

I agree with him, People will always take drugs by him saying take drugs if you want just know what you're doing, I GARUNTEE will save more lives than saying DON'T DO ANY DRUGS

People are always told not to do drugs yet they still do them. Obviously telling them not to do it won't have an affect, Giving them advice on how to do it in the safest way will likley end up saving more people than not

And by the way, SHUT THE FUK UP at all you criticising him, He's giving helpfull advice and he has a problem, I swear to god you wouldn't be ciriticizing him if he was say, Your father you'd be more sympathetic with his situation

And at the end of the say when he's on his death bed unlike 99% of people he will be able to say he actually lived

No, I really wouldn't be more sympathetic if it was my father and not Charlie Sheen. I'm looking at the action, not at the perpetrator--so under both circumstances, it would be a foolish thing to do.

By the way, telling people to 'shut the f--k up' isn't very nice, now is it? It makes you come off as immature, and really makes people defensive and less sympathetic towards you and your point of view. Why so angry?

As far as saying Sheen actually 'lived' his life...that's highly debatable and more a matter of opinion. If getting high and hiring hookers is someone's idea of living, I really do pity them. I don't mean to get all philosophical here, but seriously? Living life has seriously got to culminate to more than just that. If anything, the only claim Sheen will be able to make, if we take his behaviour into account, is that he lived his life attempting to escape it--that's all sex and drugs are, transient experiences. Neither is eternal, neither brings a lasting sense of worth or fulfillment--they're naught but a temporary escape, in constant need to be renewed and heightened in amount to produce the same effect, so effectively, he's managed to avoid his life through his actions.

The only thing you've said that I agree with is that Sheen does have a problem--that's self-evident.

I don't think Charlie Sheen is a model for anyone to listen to for advice and don't care how much he's actually lived. And at this point, I wish he would SHUT THE FUK UP!!
