I'm posting this here, because I don't want another Sullivan book fiasco when fan reaction drew more more attention to the book. From the "WTF Tuesday" files...
Here's a project I remember profiling on the old site, I believe it was in 2011. At the time, I had little information on it, so I shared very little.

2 years later, according to our friends at Quiet Earth this afternoon, the film is heading to theaters and VOD next month.

Directed by Mike Maria, the film is titled The Return of the Moonwalker, which sees Michael Jackson coming back from the dead, as a zombie. Yes, that's right - you read that correctly.

Here's an official synopsis:

Michael Jackson's hand has been stolen from his crypt in LA!! The culprits: two love-struck leather dwarves, acting on the orders of Dr. Cagliostro, a time-traveling sorcerer posing as the manager of a “punk circus” in Berlin. The mysterious mystic's mad plan: use the risen Michael to rouse the masses and ignite a global revolution! Realizing something strange is afoot, two lesbian ghost hunter girls and three horny college dudes team up to infiltrate Cagliostro's circus. Things come to a head when the rapidly decaying *****-Zombie Messiah takes over the circus and starts his own "Rainbow Revolution" one that quickly descends into chaos.

I'm sure this will offend many.

Quiet Earth says that The Return of the Moonwalker opens theatrically in Germany at the end of this month; and will be available on VOD globally in March.

OMG that is vile!

I think you are right that we shouldn't give it too much attention. Send it to the estate and ask if they can do anything about it.

Edit: It appears this film was released (or known about) back in 2011, perhaps it will stay in the gutter where it belongs.

It was released in 2011? Then why do they report about it now?
 
I'm not sure ^^^^ I'm seeing talk about it back then, perhaps because its just being released in Germany this year. :(
 
What a piece of crap that is. That film is a joke. Makes me wanna puke at it.
 
Does anyone at all 'demand' videos like this..I mean actually spend good money on them? Unbelievable! Also that anyone would waste their time 'acting' in this kind of production.
As it's in English, I can't imagine it is going to be among the most viewed films in Germany. I wonder if no USA (or other English speaking distributors) picked this up. I hope not.
Unbelievable that this was part-funded by crowd financing. It seems it was filmed sometime in 2010, according to the article below from Feb 11.
I hope Michael's children don't find this online.


The official website has an interview with M Maria who says that the person playing Michael was one of his 'official' impersonators...I find that hard to believe.

It appears that The Return of the Moonwalker, also known under the title The Cabinet of Dr. Cagliostro, filmed in Berlin last year under directors Mike Maria and Mike Moreau.
Co-director Mike Maria spoke with Movieline via email explaining that The Return of Moonwalker, which was partially financed through crowdfinancing, is currently in post and being readied to present to US distributors at the Cannes Film Market.

Lets hope as that article is from 2011 that US distributors didn't pick it up! From the clip we saw this film is beyond offensive in its portrayal of Michael and if that actor is a lead impersonator he is most certainly not a fan.
 
I am not even going to click on the trailer, based on the write up so far^^. I think we should let this trash die a low revenue death. Obviously it is not making a lot of money & is a B movie. Sad, but I guess people can make movies about anything and anyone. I remember when there was an outcry about depicting Santa Claus as a killer, but the movie came out anyway. There is only a certain type of person that like movies like this moonwalker thing, so leave them to it. Unless the word "Moonwalker" is copyrighted and cannot be used when it refers to Michael Jackson, I can't see what the estate can do about it. Personally, the only emotion I feel for this is disgust. I had stronger emotions for Sullivan's, Evan, & Victor books because many would believe all their content is the truth, which is dangerous. However, this stupid movie is clearly fantasy, & people will see it as such, so I can dismiss it more easily.
 
I actually had a personal FB conversation(unrelated to this shit movie,but the MJ impersonator in it)with Michael Rider,and I seriously thought that he was coming onto me(yes in that sort of way),which to me felt like tarnishing the real Michael's legacy.It was thoroughly disturbing,tbh.
In regards to this trash-heap,I saw the trailer a long time ago,and the movie indeed looks sick,but looks more of a porn than of a real movie.
 
WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS NEEDS TO BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY! What if michael's children were to somehow see this!!! they would be so upset by this OMG :cry:

Fortunately it seems VERY bad. So I can't see a lot of people being interested in it. Just making fun of Michael won't sell a movie if it's bad. Hopefully.
 
If the estate can't do any thing to stop this sh**t, we the fans shouldn't PROTEST, to PROTEST this BS means FREE ASVERTISEMENT.
 
That's incredibly disrespectful and disturbing. I can't believe somebody came up with this. Sick.
 
What kind of f*ckery was that! :mat: :perrin: I didn't even bother to watch the whole trailer, it was disturbing, disgusting and disrespectful to Michael!
 
Update_ The Estate does know about this movie and thier attorneys did contact them about it before.- We discussed the movie Trailer here Last year about the same time _ I contacted them again To let them know its being promoted again for a possible release on Feb 28th... Ill let you know if I get any response

I don't see any other site promoting this Feb release - are they promoting it in germany anywhere ? I doubt very much they have the funds or backing or even publicity to release in theaters or in DVD non the less, I contacted our liaison to the Estate with all the info an links related to the latest news about the film.

information stating it would be released at the Caines Film Festival -It NEVER was-
