Have you ever heard a song by someone else and thought "this would be such a good MJ song!"

I guess this is sort of fan-ficy, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who hears a song and thinks "MICHAEL JACKSON".

Make a consistent album based on other songs.
For sake of making things make sense, we can assume certain songs would be MJ-ized (that is, if a song is maybe too electronic or too rock, maybe his version would be a bit different as far as the actual beat/music and such).

MJ 2014 studio album!!

1.Take Back The Night (justin timberlake)
2.Suit & Tie (justin timberlake feat. jay-Z)
3.Gust Of Wind (pharrell williams feat. daft punk)
4.Locked Out Of Heaven (bruno mars)
5.Shame On You (LCD Soundsystem)
6.Give A Little More (maroon 5)
7.Instant Crush (daft punk feat. julian casablancas)
8.XO (beyonce/ryan tedder)
9.Latch (disclosure feat. sam smith)
10.Mirrors (justin timberlake)
11.Lay Me Down (sam smith)
12.Sunday Morning (maroon 5)
13.Happy (pharrell williams)
14.Gimme Somethin’ True (basement jaxx)

1. I'm Bringing Sexy Back- Justin Timberlake
2. Miss You- The Rolling Stones (can you imagine MJ singing....hoohoo hoooohoo hoohoo? LOL)
3. Careless Whisper- Wham
4. Faithfully- Journey
5. All Because Of You- Neyo
6. Anybody Seen My Baby- The Rolling Stones
7. Strawberry Fields Forever- The Beatles (rumor is, MJ recorded this, I want to hear it)
8. Miracle- Whitney Houston
9. Dancing On The Ceiling- Lionel Richie
10.She's All I Ever Had- Ricky Martin
11. I Need To Know- Marc Anthony
12. Fallen Angels- Aerosmith

My album consists of classic hits from the 70s through the 90's, with a few from the 2000's.

^^ Ricky Martins "She's All I Ever Had" would have been such a good MJ ballad!

And basically all of Ne-Yo's catalog would be a good MJ track as well.

I agree with Neyo. You can tell MJ was a huge influence on him...especially on Because Of You. It just screams Michael.

I've always loved She's All I Ever Had. It's actually my favorite track from Ricky....better then Livin A Vida Loca and She Bangs. I think MJ could have pulled those high notes off quite well.

'Let Me In Your Heart Again' & 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives'...

A few songs come to mind right now :)

1. Insatiable (Darren Hayes)
2. The Water (Hurts)
3. Who Wants to Live Forever (Queen)
4. Secret Garden (Bruce Springsteen)
5. Ignition Remix (R Kelly)...hihi, I know :)
6. Yeah (Usher)
7. Can't Get Enough Of Your Love (Barry White)
8. Get Off (Prince - I know, it's not Michael-like, but it would have been sexy to hear his voice on it...)

All these suggestions and no one mentions Get Lucky by Daft Punk? :p

Savage Garden - I knew I Loved You

R Kelly - Legs Shakin (Seriously look this song up, it has MJ written all over it)

Justin Timberlake - Señorita

Neyo- One In A Million & Watching A Movie

Daft Punk - Touch

Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man ( I'm so convinced this would be perf for MJ. It has that raw vocal approach that MJ fancied so much)

LMFAO - I'm Sexy And I Know It
PSY - Gangdam Style
Nikki Minaj - Anaconda

I only have a single yet

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale

Great thread !
1. You Know My Name Chris Cornell. Imagine Mike's vocals on this
2. Makes Me Wonder Maroon 5. This sounds like a cool song MJ would do
3. Sign Your Name Terance Trent D'arby. Michael's adlibs on this though...
4. The Bottle. The Christians. Love the story of this song, totally MJ.
5. Careless. Whisper. Wham. This it's a great song, I always think of him singing it.
6. Moonshine. Bruno Mars. This to me sounds like a song that would come right from the BAD era.
7. Yesterday. The Beatles. What a song, the feeling MJ would put in this. SOOML ?
8. Te Amo. Rihanna. I like this song and I feel MJ would only make it better.
9. You Are My Love. Jamiroquai. Great funk song, this would be like Superfly Sister, with MJ's cool vocal
10.Lately. Stevie Wonder. An amazing song. Imagine Michael's passionate voice on this.

These are just a few I can think of. All the vocals would be from the Bad era or from 1989, if I could pick.

If I Like it, I Do It (Jamiroquai)
Too Hot (Kool & The Gang)
Pop Along Kid (Shalamar)
Tellin' Lies (Staple Singers)
Heaven Help Me (Deon Estus)
Only So Much Oil In The Ground (Tower Of Power)
Mercy Mercy Me (Marvin Gaye)
The Trees (Rush)
Take You Out (Luther Vandross)
Sing My Heart Out (O'Jays)
Deliver Us (Bar-Kays)

Okay, I´ll start with a single :cheeky:

Another one Bites The Dust - Queen

That was my opinion even BEFORE I knew the story behind the success of this song lol

I always thought that Michael channeled that to John Deacon as some kind of gift to the band. :D

Actually, I admire Freddie Mercury very much and think he might be the second best male (pop/rock, etc........) vocalist after Michael! But then again, I do not like rankings. Singing is an art, not an Olympic discipline.

BAHAHA! To me that´s more a dance than a song - so I have a funny (and sexy) visual of Michael doing the "horse dance". :horsey:

I think Bruno Mars 24 k magic album has a strong MJ vibe.I can totally imagine Michael singing songs like versace on the floor or chunky.Finesse sounds very much like Remember the Time.

Not one person has mentioned Prince. I could make a Michael Jackson album with Prince songs

1. Wouldn't you love to love me (Prince wrote this for MJ)
2. I wanna be your lover (Add some more dance tempo)
3. 1999 - Could see MJ bopping to this
4. Baby I'm a star
5. Pop Life - morose topic about ego and drug abuse would appeal to early MJ
6. 4 the tears in your eyes - could see MJ singing it.
7. Old friends 4 sale
8. Money don't matter 2 night
9. The Love we make
10. Dance 4 me
11. 4ever
12. Another Lonely Christmas
13. God
14. The arms of Orion
15. Still would stand all time
16. Love thy will be done.

I would probably die if MJ covered these songs, just like Prince singing Billie Jean and the way you make me feel.

"Always and forever" by Heatwave, I don't know which song came first this or "the lady in my life" but they have a similar structure which is not surprising as both songs were written by Rod Temperton
"another one bites the dust" screams MJ for me

I don't know if the following artist was on MJ's radar but I think MJ doing Roy Orbison songs could have been special
Aerosmith slow rockers like "cryin" would be great for MJ
This is a bad question for me, I would have loved him doing cover albums, all kinds of covers. I love covers in general so most songs I would like to hear with Michael's voice... But the first 2 songs I mentioned are particular suitable for MJ I think.

Always and Forever was released in 1976. Would have loved to hear Michael sing that one.

Sacrifice by the Weeknd. A lot of songs by the Weeknd. And some Silk Sonic.

Any Kaytranada tunes but this one in particular:

And this one by Daniel Caesar:

For an older set of songs.

These belong to MJ still imo.

And for a true throwback for the anti-modernists here:

This classy tune by Bill Wolfer.
