Not sure if there's already a thread about this but I had never seen this video before. Michael is adorable as usual  And a perfect imitation of Stevie's voice, LOL!

Amazing! Stevie and Michael always talked highly about each other it shows how great talents can praise each other and how celebrities don't have to downplay other talents. I agree with Michael said :) Stevie is one of the most talented singers of our time.

That is ADORABLE. And the excited, shivery "Wooo" is the same sound I ?made when I first heard "I can't Help It". (actually, any time I hear it, even now). I adore Stevie.

Awww, Michael is so adorable when he's excited! :girl_aww: It's good to see the deep love and admiration was mutual from two good friends.

This is adorable indeed. Great to hear him so enthusiastic.

And that "Michael's here" song is totally in Stevie's style. LOL.

On 6th February 1984, after winning an unprecedented number of AMA awards Michael spoke to black publication JET magazine about people in his life he was thankful for; Stevie Wonder, who expresses pride of race in his music.

“That’s why I love Stevie Wonder’s album called Songs in The Key of Life… He had a song called Black Man and I just jumped up screaming when I heard that record because he’s showing the world what the Black man has done and what other races have done… He named it Black Man and all these people who have got the album sing it. And that’s the best way to bring about the truth.”

^ and people got the nerves to say MJ didn't like to be black when these quotes were out there for years

I like it when Michael talks about his love for music. Like he's just a fan, the same as us.

I would loved to have talked to him about music.

He was so humble and sincere when he talked about artists he admired and always gave them their due. I wish there were more moments like this out there.

Cool vid.:D
Stevie is a bonafide legend.
It lowkey gets on my nerves how people oftentimes overlook old school legends like Stevie, but will mourn him and praise him AFTER he dies.:(
Still sideye him saying that if Michael is the King Of Pop Prince is the Emperor though.
I'm not mad like I originally was about it, and I understand that Prince had just passed away, but I still don't see why he felt the need to say that.

Seeing Stevie perform the Songs in the Key of Life in Hyde Park earlier this year is something that I will take with me as one of the highlights of my life.

Michael said it best when he said "he is a prophet".

Haha aww @ Michael fanboying.

I got into Stevie Wonder earlier this year myself, I only know a handful of his songs but God he has some classics. I love Get It too.

Oh wow!
That's really cool!
I know this is a random question, but does Stevie do meet and greets?

Since we're already talking about Stevie here's a video of him being played by T-Pain.
It's random, but I just had to post it.
Stevie(T-Pain) is awesome in this video.

aaww that was SO cute  only Michael can be so adorable

I know I'm late as hell to this convo, but the media played on feelings/thoughts that for whatever reason were already there about Michael (especially within the black community), and a bunch of dumbass people fell for it hook line and sinker.

Being black myself though, it honestly disgust me how so many other black people were willing to turn on Michael (the biggest and most known black entertainer/artist to ever do it) because of a lie propagated by the media that wasn't true in any shape or form.

To this day I still see that dumbass MJ was a self hater shit.
If I so much as catch a vibe that someone feels that way about Michael I'm like f*** you and the horse you rode in on (well maybe not the horse, horses are cool, LOL).

Edit: Also Michael was definitely right when he said the bigger the star the bigger the target because there are other black stars/entertainers/artists that have actually went out of the way to tell everyone that their something other then black and/or that have actually shown self hating tendencies, but THEY didn't/haven't gotten it 1/4th as bad as Michael who never said anything other then that he was a proud black man.

I've always kinda felt like it's a mostly American thing though considering that Michael was literally crowned an African King in Sanwi.:)

Race issues is mostly an American thing, indeed. Because the American society is a society that has been founded on racialism and racism. The race still determines the character and social position one will have and be, to a greater deal of Americans than I thought.

In Europe, Asia and Africa, people are way more indifferent about them. I don't say race issues don't exist over there ; they do.
But to the extent of the American ones ? I answer this question with an emphatic NO.

YT just gave me an unexpected Christmas present. This little clip is new to me and it's SO adorable. Link upthread is broken so posting it again. Michael being adorable in 1983, talking about the wonder (!) that is Stevie.

Awesome!

EDIT - it's not a video, it's an audio clip. :)

Now Stevie Wonder, he’s a musical prophet. He’s another guy I have to credit. I wanted to experience it all. So Stevie Wonder used to literally let me sit like a fly on the wall. I got to see Songs in the Key of Life get made, some of the most golden things.
