Possibly Michael's best ever vocal performance.

The spoken word intro is perfectly timed. Funny without being cheesy, and rehearsed whilst sounding ad-libbed.

    'I GAVE HER MY COOKIES!'

Then bang, into that classic vocal intro.
Talking about that intro. I always think of the Ed Sullivan version when he's in the middle of his schtick and forgets his line and looks at Jackie for a split second. I still get distressed for him until he recovers, opens his mouth and sings like a 40 year old.

I keep trying to remember if I noticed this at the time, but I was a little kid too, so don't remember. Just remember the thrill listening and watching him sing the song.

I just closed the door into my office so I can listen to the album at work.

It's great. - I think I hear too little J5/The Jacksons - and also MJ's early solo albums. Think I will listen to those albums more. There are some true gems.

MJ - and J5/The Jacksons - should have released more live albums.

The other live album - The Jacksons Live - is one of the best albums ever released. The energy is crazy... It's out of this world. Vocals are perfect, energy high, the band is great.... Perfect album. Would have been so cool to attend the actual concert.
https://www.youtube.com/user/Ahess/videos - me dancing MJ - many years ago.

I would be really glad if you rated or/and commented the videos. Thanks

Live in Japan is another good one, with Michael's voice well into transition to adult. By far the forum is my favourite album, the 1970 disc. Absolutely flawless.

The Jackson 5's first 3 albums are top class stuff- I havent listened to Maybe Tomorrow in a while, but considering it has Petals and Never Can Say Goodbye, I imagine I will be adding it to the list shortly. Music & Me is a great album too, my favourite solo album of the Motown years.

    As the kids say..... O M G

Barbee, to quote David Cassidy (I think you're old enough to know!), I think I love you.

I've never seen that performance with the intro - how is that possible.

    It's heartbreaking...wow..

And his face at 30 seconds, that's his adult face right there (when he says 'I stepped up to her'). It's the look he does when he's trying to be serious..you know what I mean.

    I CAN'T TAKE IT 'COS I'M TONY

Jesus, how had I never seen that intro either? The absolute PANIC on his face. He gets it right back.

Side note, I don;t know why, but I always loved how Michael accidentally hits the microphone after he says "I treated you baaaaaaad...".

Bit of trivia that everyone probably knows.... Imagine, IMAGINE that Berry was furious after seeing the I Want You Back performance from this show because of the slower tempo. I'd say it was the last time he was furious over anything to do with the J5 for a few years

You know when you're growing up & you think you're the only weirdo in the school, and then you find another & you don't feel so alone?

I feel like that right now. I could shed a tear. Totally sincere.

Proof that you know someone you're talking to has watched Moonwalker at least as many times as yourself...

Stop, even today when I listen to Dancing Machine, I sing "Dont blame it on the sunshiiiine." at the apt part.

I also shout "You Knock Me Off a' my feet now baby, hooooo" during We Are The World, which I think fits as an ad lib.

It;s way better than the MJ Minimix that was released in 1995!

Of course I do, with added lip choreography.

Bonus points for always associating ET with State of Shock. Always. And acting out the magazine cover during the "we doin it. Hoo! Come own baby!" ad lib...

However for years I thought that Human Nature had a video. I recall vehemently arguing with someone that it did as I had seen it and could describe it. Then I realised it was specially done for the Moonwalker anthology. God, what a stupid idiot I felt. We'd got into a proper fist fight about it, clothes were torn and lips were bloodied.

I've made up with my Mum since.

I've not seen this for years, the older I get the more amazed I am at just how effortless and phenomenally talented he was at such a young age! He was pretty much still a baby here, it's mind blowing what he was capable of and how natural it was to him.

Never know, there could be a full video in the vaults because of it. Then you can break you mom's jaw and all is well.
