Awww, this is really beautiful. Sorry I didn't get my message to you in time. I was trying to visualize this card when you first posted about it, but I didn't visualize this-it's gorgeous.
One of the things I really love about looking at Forest Lawn pix (besides admiring the roses and other floral displays) are all the HOMEMADE cards and letters that they lay on the lawn out there. Especially because they're homemade. I could look at those for hours.
I love the fact that Michael appreciated things like that-since they really come from the heart.
Thank you so much for your kind words and your support, barbee! Remember, if you want to write a letter to Michael, or even just a simple message, there's still time to PM it to me, so I can pass it on. There's almost two weeks still to go, before that deadline. I don't sit and read everyone's letters, because I think they're private, between themselves and Michael....I just copy/paste and send.
There are a TON of new members and Junior members who have been visiting the site every day for weeks and weeks. Hundreds, in the last 24 hours. To all of our new people: as soon as you have made ten posts, you'll be able to complete your profile and move freely on the site. Hop to it and start Michael-ing, everyone! There is so much here to enjoy and many welcoming MJ fans with whom you can connect!
Welcome! Welcome!!
MJJC has been contacted by a representative of a German press agency for Reuters. She wants to interview an administrator/moderator or member of our community, about how fans will be remembering Michael and celebrating his life and legacy, on what would have been his 60th birthday milestone, later this month. I have agreed to speak with her, via e-mail, on behalf of MJJC and all of its members and am currently awaiting her response, with questions that she would like answered. I'm not sure, yet, what questions will be asked, but I guess they'll be fairly general.
If there is anything individual members would like to say, which I can pass onto her, during the interview - about how you feel about Michael and anything you are taking part in, organising, or doing, this year, to celebrate - then please post it in this thread. I will endeavour to put your input/thoughts to best use in my e-mail reply and the subsequent written piece, which I believe will appear online.
I will post updates and developments, in this thread, over the coming days.

Update on the MJJC Letter to MJ project and the MJJC Card project (Projects 1 and 2)
All of the letters, drawings and notes for Michael that were contributed by fans for the 25th June and the card that I created on behalf of MJJC, definitely made it to Forest Lawn.
The letters were printed up, placed in a folder and taken in person by our MJJC traveller to Forest Lawn, on the actual day of 25th June, 2018. I believe that she took photos of the folder placed in its position on the grass, so I will endeavour to gain access to these and post them here.
The card that I made, on behalf of MJJC (pictured on page 2 of this thread) unfortunately did not make it to our pilgrim's house, before she left for the USA. It was sitting in her mail box, while she was already in Los Angeles, due to a miscalculation/miscommunication of the correct deadline date and time, allowing for time zones, etc. However, she was able to link up with some of her American-based friends who visit Forest Lawn regularly and she was able to send the card to them, once she had returned home. As I understand it, they made sure that the card found its way to Holly Terrace, when they next visited. So even though the journey took a little longer than first planned for our card, it did make it, in the end.
I will try to get photos, or some kind of definitive update about this as well and post it here, as originally promised. Thank you, everyone, for your initial interest and for your trust and patience.
Hello again, everyone.
I am going to speak with the press representative via e-mail (I have edited my first post to reflect this change) tomorrow, or the day after. She decided to conduct the interview that way, rather than over the phone, due to the tight deadline she has and the fact that she and I are in very different time zones.
These are her questions for me:
1) How will MJJC members be celebrating Michael's upcoming 60th birthday?
2) If Michael was still with us, what would his life and career look like today?
3) Michael has such a huge fan base all over the world - what makes him still so loved and adored by so many people?
4) What is his biggest legacy?
5) How do you feel about Michael's family and his children - about the way in which they keep his legacy alive?
Here's the article written by the German press agency correspondent, about why MJ fans still love Michael so much and what they will be doing to celebrate his 60th birthday. It mentions MJJC!! It's been translated from German, by Google Chrome, so I hope it's a faithful translation. I actually gave the journalist a LOT of information to use, when I answered her questions, but she didn't quote everything. I have an MJ fan friend who is German and she just messaged me to say that this article is all over the newspapers in Germany!! So exciting. LOL.
Michael Jackson's life is celebrated worldwide
From dpa Wednesday, 29.08.2018, 00:04
The news of his death shocked the world: In June 2009, Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 years. This year, the King of Pop would have been 60 years old. His fans want to celebrate, for them he lives on.
Los Angeles (AP) - For fans of the "King of Pop", this should be just a small damper - just before the centenary of their idol - for decades, Michael Jackson's "thriller" was hailed as the most successful album so far.
Now the album "Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)" put the US rocker The Eagles in the first place. "Thriller" has been sold or streamed online since its release in 1982, about 33 million times, the Eagles album since 1976, more than 38 million times, as the US Association of Music Industry RIAA recently announced.
But the cult of Jackson, who would have turned 60 on Wednesday (August 29), continues nine years after his death. Around the world, the anniversary is celebrated, on August 29, 1958, Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana. Jackson's children, Paris and Prince and his brothers Jackie, Tito and Marlon are expected to attend the "Michael Jackson: The Diamond Celebration" in Las Vegas. Accompanying the fan party, the Canadian " Cirque du Soleil " will perform its Michael Jackson show "One" in the Casino City.
In Berlin, the musical show "Beat It!" Celebrates its premiere to coincide with the birthday of pop idol. Jackson's estate administrators are planning a musical on New York's Broadway in 2020. As a "birthday" tribute to the creator of songs such as "Thriller", "Bad", "Billie Jean", "Dangerous" and "HIStory" TV documentaries and fan events are planned.
"He was the greatest of all time and there will never be anyone like him again," says a fan, Michele D., in an e-mailed dpa interview. The 60-year-old Australian co-administers Jackson's MJJ Community fan site. Fans from all over the world posted photos, videos and music on Michael's birthday and shared social networks to commemorate the life and heritage of the "King of Pop," says the teacher, who became a fan in 1969. "I saw his performance of 'Who's Loving You' live on the Ed Sullivan show with the" Jackson 5 "and that was it, I was hooked!"
If Jackson was still alive - and if he had given his planned comeback concerts in London in 2009 - his career would certainly have started rolling again, Michele believes. Today, he would surely help his three children succeed....managing their careers, advising them, helping them navigate their way and achieve their goals, whilst still allowing them to find their own feet and spread their own wings. They would each be making him very proud of the way they are living their lives.
They actually follow in their father's footsteps. Daughter Paris is an actress, model and singer. When grandmother Katherine Jackson recently attended a concert of her band The Sunflowers, the average Jackson shoot posted a picture of the band with her grandmother, on Instagram. Prince Jackson has already produced music videos, the youngest son nicknamed Blanket still goes to school.
He was only seven years old when his father died in June 2009 at the age of fifty on a deadly mix of medications. In mid-July of that year his comeback tour in London should have begun. The King of Pop's Estate is still earning millions annually. For many years he leads the list of the best earning deceased celebrities. According to forecasts by the business magazine "Forbes" in 2017, it was about $ 750 million from the sale of the music rights catalog and shows about Jackson's staying power.
Jackson himself had awarded the title of "King of Pop". His moonwalk dance moves, songs, videos and stage spectacles turned the pop world upside down in the early 1980s. He was a children's idol, which made the entire family to stars, already as a tot he became the lead singer of the Jackson 5.
Later, the musician lamented in TV interviews about his "lost childhood". In tears he once said: "I always wanted to be just a normal little boy. But fate has wanted it differently. "His father, Jackson said," never told me that he loves me. " In 1993, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, he related violence in the family. Patriarch Joseph Jackson, who put his kids to the test, died in June at the age of 89.
In 2010, Jackson was posthumously honored with a Grammy for his life's work, during his lifetime he received 13 of the coveted music trophies. In 1984, he was the first artist to clear eight prizes in one night.
Later, the mega star's image got scratchy: canceled concerts, collapses on stage, bizarre appearances: instead of music, "Whacko *****" produced headlines that had to do with his looks. The beauty treatments he said made him look like an artifact. Little was known about the two marriages, first with Lisa-Marie Presley, then with nurse Debbie Rowe, the mother of his two older children.
In California, Jackson lived on the vast Neverland estate, named after the Neverland of his beloved fairytale character Peter Pan. In 1993, a 13-year-old boy claimed to have been the victim of sexual assault in Jackson's bedroom. The star denied this consistently, agreed with the family of the boy on a settlement in the millions. Similar allegations made by a teenager in 2005 led to a "trial of the century" that ended in Jackson's triumphant acquittal on all charges.
Ten weeks after his death, Jackson was buried in a mausoleum in the Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale near Los Angeles. His fans are loyal to him. "What I value most about him is his ability to love and his benevolent heart," says Michele D. "He will live on forever through his children, his fans and his music."
