When I was watching Endgame towards the end I thought if that Captain Marvel comes in here and finishes off Thanos just like that and saves the day, I'm through! Wisely...they did not do that. (oh, was that a spoiler...sorry) Read with caution...

Endgame did such a good job of tidying everything up and leaving me feeling satisfied in the way they handled the main characters. I remember walking out of the theater nodding and thinking "they did good; they handled things well, nicely done." I had a content feeling.

Taj made a good point about the original Iron Man saying it deserves a level of respect for being the forerunner of all the subsequent Marvel films. It paved the way and got the interest/excitement going and the thirst for more. On a side note, I'd be curious to know why they did not care for Iron man 3...was it because of the different structure with Tony's voice over at the intro and outtro? Or just the plot was sub-par? Didn't care for Guy Pearce as the villian? Maybe they will review it at some point. They would have to admit Pepper's big moment in that film was amazing...no? I think it was pretty amazing to Tony, haha.

I think Winter Soldier is one of the best if not the best, and at the same time I have a fondness for the first Captain America. It had a lot of heart. But don't look at me as I also enjoyed Age of Ultron and found Ultron's humor fun, and yes, I have heard many fans thought he and his humor were lame. But after I watched it i thought, 'Hey, I liked that." And I really like Jarvis...and Vision was cool. But I'm alone in all this.

Sounds like Prince is biting at the bit to tear Justice League to pieces. Hey, I'm a DC fan. But I choose to forgive you ahead of time, Prince. Maybe I should try to rewatch it and perhaps I will find your opinions justified. Isn't Taj a DC fan also? I'm thinking he won't even defend it. Sigh.

Glad they will be reviewing John Wick 3. I just saw it in the theater today. I've been hooked on the Wick flicks for a time now. This one had my adrenaline going from the get go. I think I remember Keanu saying in an interview they tried to up their game this time around and come up with fresh predicaments. I think they achieved it with the (spoilers?) horse/motor cycle/pool/smashing glass/tricking glass, etc, etc, etc. Pretty clever at times for sure what all they came up with.

I also just rented Logan because Bigi mentioned it in a favorable light. I had never seen it because I thought it would be too dark for me (you're probably thinking "and John Wick isn't? Hey, I love to dance and it has great choreography throughout...much lighter tone). Logan was, yes, too dark for me; it felt a lot of the time like a horror movie. I loved the trailer for it when that came out probably because of Johnny Cash's chilling version of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt". But the film was such a downer...however...I hope the guys review it because there are interesting things to talk about within the film. Patrick Stewart, for one, was incredible in what he did with that part.

Thanks for posting about their channel La74. They have now offered us two videos with stimulating discussion.

Thanks for posting their latest video, wednesday.

I hope it will be okay to do some commenting on the content of this video and John Wick.

There will most likely be SPOILERS.

The guys had mentioned how there were confusing parts in this film. I agree, especially when Lawrence Fishborne's character gets slashed up multiple times. That had me thinking..what is going on here? But that doesn't mean I was unhappy about that. I have encountered story telling where it is intentionally done in such a way that the reader/audience starts becoming aware that the characters are much more in the know then they are. It is clear that in john Wick that they all know exactly how things work in this world; they all understand clearly the rules of the high table. We as the audience have to learn as they go along. I really like how Angelica Houston knows fully well as soon as the Adjudicator, and the high table goons who are with her, come to her (the director's) theater...that if she is able to be "pardoned" and can convince them of her renewed loyalty she will have to undergo a physical consequence. She sits so resigned in that chair fully understanding what is coming. That scene is very revealing and sets things up. They all in the low table get it. No one wanted to help John because he broke the high table rules and to help him is to be disloyal to the high table. Winston is seen as helping John and so is Lawrence Fishburne's character. Lawrence's character wants to operate his turf just on the line of "obeying" and the high table knows this, I would guess, and that is why when the Adjudicator and the goons are dialoguing with him and it is apparent he is going to be a problem, his consequence comes swiftly and he gets the seven cuts. We as the audience are left to think, "did they just kill him off? What happened?" But my guess is that these who are experienced in administering these types of punishments, know just how to slash to allow the individual to live, plus Fishburne's men are all around him to get him help immediately. When we see him at the end, we must assume that is what happened.

John wishes to be pardoned and he travels to the desert to go straight to the top of the high table to get that pardon. When John is sitting there at that table having his conversation with the leader of it all he already knows what he will have to do...he sees the particular type of sharp objects in front of him and he knows what's up. We can assume that he is already in his mind thinking "I'm not getting out of here without being minus one digit...I can't afford to remove a finger off my right hand, I need that for my weapons...so which finger on my left can I best do without so I can leave here still being able to fight." I think either the ring or the middle would be the best choices and of course he needed the middle finger for one of the last shots of the film.

The coins were mentioned in the guys' video, and again, everyone in the assassin world in this film gets it. Coins, artifacts, all have meaning attached to them and when Houston's character(director) sees the cross, it speaks volumes; when Halle Berry's character (Sophia) sees the coin with her thumb print of blood...it speaks volumes. By the way, what the movie hinted at was that John Wick was instrumental in helping Sophia get her young daughter to a safe unknown location to protect her from the high table if (like the mafia does) they decided to go after a loved one as pay back to her if she crossed them. Sophia knew it was madness to help the sought after John Wick...but seeing that coin she was well reminded how he did something for her that was way too meaningful for her to ignore or ever forget.

The John Wick films are all about the action and the creators do what they can to come up with the stakes, and in this world what they've come up with, it's about being loyal, which means everything, or breaking faith, which is a dangerous thing to do. And all the players know how it all works and we learn as they go. I don't mind that. I think Taj indicated he didn't either, but maybe the other three have problems with it. (oh, I've gone long enough on John Wick but I thought also that Winston was not trying to kill John at the end but he knew, because Winston is a survivor, that he needed John Wick to fight for him in order to survive. He knew the high table goons were going to come and only John could fight them all and win. So he had to get John on his side so he could keep his hotel and his power in the low table. He wasn't going to give all that up without a fight. Thanks to John, who indeed fought, he got a parley...but to get a pardon, he had to kill John...or appear to, which is what I think. We shall see.)

As far as Robert Pattinson, I was similar to Prince at first and thought, "This guy does not look like batmen, no way!" But then after it was announced I got to work looking up video clips on Youtube of some scenes of his of various indie films. One scene was positively mesmerizing from the film, The Rover, (motel shoot out scene). I thought, "Wow, this guy can act!" Then I watched the Cosmopolis (gun) scene and in that, in his voice and manner, I thought, "I think he can do Bruce Wayne." As far as Batman, and I think Bigi addressed this, the film batmans are not a comical, silly, light Batman that I grew up with in Adam West, they instead should show a man who can't get past witnessing as a young child the violent death of his parents in a dark alley. That one event shaped him into a darker, more tortured man, and I think now, after watching some of his clips, that Robert Pattinson could carry that off. Now the question is this: Robert Pattinson has made a lot of effort to take his craft very seriously, choosing to do several indie roles that are meatier and have depth. After all his hard work to not be type cast as the vampire in Twilight, a movie trilogy, does he now want to take the risk at being type cast as Batman doing most likely multiple films playing that character? He has a tough decision that could be quite pivotal for his career.

Michael Jackson’s Son Blanket Keeps Taking Major Steps Into The Public Eye With New YouTube Series

After spending most of the last decade of the spotlight, it looks like Blanket Jackson is back and here to stay!

While his older siblings, Prince and Paris, went on to live public lives in the years following their father’s death, Blanket – who changed his name to Bigi in 2015 – famously remained private. But over the past three weeks, the teen has made a surprising return with the launch of his and Prince’s new YouTube film review channel, Film Family.

Prince debuted the channel back in May, with his, Bigi and cousin Taj Jackson’s review of “Avengers: Endgame.” In the weeks since, the guys have amped up the pace, sharing nine more videos of their hot takes – including a “Game of Thrones” finale review, and a discussion on their Top 5 Marvel Cinematic Universe films, a review of Guy Pearce’s “Aladdin” remake.

Through it, Jackson fans have loved seeing more of Blanket, who it turns out is quite a movie buff!

“Bigi is a walking encyclopedia of film and I’m here for it,” one fan commented on YouTube.

“It’s incredible how Bigi can effortlessly recite so much factual data,” wrote another.

Along with his new YouTube fame, Bigi has also been popping up more and more on Prince’s Instagram account. Not only did the younger Jackson pose for a group photo with his bro at an “Endgame” showing, but he also posed with him at his college graduation from Loyola Marymount University.
