Do you guys think we should contact or petition to get Stark Raving Dad back on Disney +? They are working on fixing the aspect ratio of the current episodes. I believe its still on amazon streaming services. Its beyond dissapointing that Disney made that decision to remove it. I think if enough people voice their opinion on this maybe Disney could reconsider?

I really don't even think it's that important. Its not like he was a main character in the show. He guest starred for one 20min episode. I have the entire episode if you want to see it that badly but it's not even worth it. We need to put all our energy about the Simpsons instead of into getting the estate to release 4k scans of the shorts & release concerts in 4k!

They put it back on Amazon Video! (You have to scroll to the bottom of season 3 to find it; they put it on the end instead of as the first episode.) People have also put it on Youtube, and I've saved those videos in case it gets taken down from there.

While we're at it, let's get Captain EO on Disney+. That's long overdue!

I just wanna give Disney+ 1 star and a negative review on Apple App Store and demand to add my favourite episode in or my boycotting still stands.

Is this a decision Disney made? Didn't Simpsons themselves withdraw the episode?

I still strongly believe they were listening to these idiots Groening, Brooks and Jean, just like MUCH listened to them.

I believe that the creators of The Simpsons are within their rights to request certain episodes be removed and/or omitted from streaming or online purchase. So, they could very easily say, "Don't put up the Michael Jackson episode," and Disney would listen.

I couldn't care less tbh. I never understood the hype with Simpsons anyway. It's a stupid show with yellow characters... I couldn't care less if Disney removed MJ's episode. I care neither about the Simpsons nor Disney.

It is still available on Amazon streaming. It seems only Disney+ has removed it. Out of the hundreds of episodes spanning 30 years...this is the one episode they chose to remove? MJs episode is considered a classic and still a favorite among Simpsons fans.

I agree 100%, never really been a fan of the Simpsons. I can understand if I was and if that episode in particular meant something to me than sure but no. But, am I the only one that is dissatisfied with the amount of content that the Estate releases; which is next to nothing? I liked the Halloween special but that [to me] was intended to introduce a younger demographic to Michael's music. That special wasn't for longtime fans, and the only thing that really made me feel like Michael would've approved was the intro specifically. I think they should be releasing concert sets, try release mastered tracks like BUFFALO BILL. I'd settle for demos of Michael's music. I don't need kakamimi producers putting their spin on Michael's music, they should just leave it the way that he left it but just with elevated quality and minor adjustments. Re-releasing Thriller 3D wasn't enough, we've already seen Thriller a million times.

Screw Disney, if I want to watch that episode of the Simpsons I'd just pull it up on online, it's not like certain websites that show every TV show don't exist.
I'm not wasting a dime on Disney+ and neither should you.

there's no shortage of places to see this legally or by other means.
Certainly not a deal breaker for me. I love having all episodes on demand for background noise while i do other things (i got the first 10 seasons on dvd, but too much work).

syndication

Disney had 7 or 8 movies that made a over a billion dollars this year and Frozen 2 is about to come out. I'm pretty sure they're worried about some people boycotting their channel because they're not showing a Simpsons episode. If you want to see it that bad, the seasons of the show on DVD still exist. Anyway the makers of the show said they're removing it from syndication months ago before this Disney+ thing. So I'd say it has more to do with them than Disney. This is from March 2019.

Prolly not gonna happen. Not because it's MJ related, but they're not likely to add theme park movies on their service.
EO works because it was less reliant on in-person effects, but in general, i don't see them adding actual attraction ride-thrus, full movies, etc.

Disney+ won't add the Michael Jackson Simpson's episode but it's got the film A Bugs Life which stars Kevin Spacey.

I just wanna strangle those 3 b@$^@#%$ literally!

This. I even once wrote a paper in college about how the in-theater effects add so much to Captain EO. (I studied theatre, if that explains why I was able to write a paper about that.) I have it on DVD, but it's just not the same.

Knowing it's back in the episode list would be more [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Tahoma,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]gratifying for a 'win'.. In reality it's not that important, it's a result of the war.. Use energy to fight the war and all will be restored.

The more petty we sound, the easier it is to tune us out.. The hoops it would take to work the logistics between Fox and Disney is (in my opinion) not worth the.... How do I word this? Nott that it's not worth the effort, but there are more important ways our energy could be used at the moment.

Just my thought

To clarify: The Twitter rally is about pointing out the general hypocrisy surrounding the episode’s ban, and specifically the exclusion from FXX’s Simpsons Marathon that kicks off later today. I agree that the logistics between FOX and Disney is something that we don’t have much influence on.

Disney+ wants to know what your favorite Simpsons episode is. Tell ’em, they’ll be happy to hear from you. :)

Why pressure them to put it on streaming services when you can buy it in this $500+ boxset instead?

Typical. Anything for $$. They just chose to remove it from Disney + to go with the failed cancel MJ movement.

I consider Simpsons recent comments/choices almost if not worse then south park. At least South park was blatantly disrespectful from the beginning. Simpsons just chose to do the "woke" thing and backstab after supporting MJ when he was alive.

Lol, so they are advertising the boxset with the exact same thing they are banning on the streams? This is unreal, but somewhat devilishly smart marketing to sell the boxsets. :hysterical:

Is this seriously an advertisement by The Simpsons company themselves? That’s ridiculous then. I assumed it was an ad from a third party (Best Buy).

Oh that's more plausible indeed. Still ironic though, and very telling about the selling point.

Not to mention hypocritical. There are older Simpsons episodes that touch on censorship and false accusations/media manipulation, and by removing the Michael episode they're going against the very messages those older episodes portrayed.

South Park, as harsh as they are to Michael, may ironically be more supportive of him now since they tend to crap on liberal stuff a lot.

Exactly how I felt. There's this sort of arrogance to advertising this that brings my piss to a boil.

You talk about “South Park” disrespectful to Michael, you forget “Family Guy” also disrespected Michael. Those 3 idiots should look back at the episode when Homer was falsely accuse sexually grabbing the babysitter and how media tries to ruin his life until the end Willie got proof that Homer did nothing improper and the media admitted their mistakes. “Homer Badman” in case some of yous don’t know, that episode should be a perfect example as to why they were so blinded and poisoned by not realizing the truth. Groening, Brooks and Jean should look back at it and see what they did was wrong or they’ll get burned for it.
