Kim Kardashian sparks fury after gifting daughter North Michael Jackson's jacket

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West left fans shocked and outraged when they revealed they had spent tens of thousands of dollars on an old jacket once owned by Michael Jackson as a Christmas present for daughter North.
The 39-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and her 42-year-old rap star husband spanked over $65,000 (£50,000) on a velvet coat once worn by Jackson during a night out with Elizabeth Taylor.
Taking to Instagram stories on Christmas Eve, Kim explained that she and her husband had splashed out on the jacket for their six-year-old daughter North.
“North is a really big Michael Jackson fan,” Kim explained after winning the coat in a bidding war.
“We knew she would love this… She’s so grateful and excited,” Kim added as she showed off the coat via social media.
The reality star added that she had hemmed up the sleeves of the jacket so her young daughter would be able to wear the coat over Christmas, and that a hem could be removed for her to be able to wear it when she is older.
The coat came with a photograph of the late singer Jackson (who died in 2009 aged 50) wearing the item.
Bidding website Julien’s Auctions confirms the coat sold far above the estimated cost - with the winning bid being listed as $65,625 despite the coat being estimated at between $10,000 and $20,000.
Fans of Kim and Kanye have hit out at the pair, however, with many repulsed by the cost of the coat - and others outraged over the fact that they bought their young daughter a jacket once owned by an accused pedophile.
“With what ‘They’ spent on that jacket, how many children could of been fed,” one outraged fan tweeted as news of the sale spread online.
“Isn't it ironic that a child was gifted a jacket reminiscent of person who allegedly had issues with children,” one shocked fan wrote.
While another responded to the news on Twitter by simply tweeting: “Disturbing!”
However, some fans defended Kim and Kanye over the lavish gift, with one Twitter user typing: "If you be really quiet you can hear the sad miserable jealous broke people angrily typing."

On Christmas Eve, Kardashian West, 39, shared a series of videos on her Instagram Story, revealing that she and West, 42, had bought North, 6, the exact velvet jacket Michael Jackson wore while out with Elizabeth Taylor once.
Kardashian West explained that she and West won the jacket in an auction and that “North is a really big Michael Jackson fan.”
Inside the jacket, pictures of the late singer wearing the ensemble alongside Taylor lined the pockets.
