Lightbulb Documentary Planned By MJ: Messages to Michael (M2M)

I wanted to share with you all a project MJ was working on around 2005 for his fans. The working title of the project was "Messages to Michael" (or M2M) and would have been a documentary about a few MJ fans. This was planned to be a gesture from MJ to his fans for standing by his side even in the hardest times, and also a celebration of his life as an artist.

The idea was to choose four MJ fans (at least two of them being impersonators) from Japan, India, Russia and the UK, who would be invited to meet with MJ in Los Angeles. Each fans' trip from their home countries to London (where the fans assemble the first time) and then to Los Angeles would have been followed by four remote crews.

Each fans' journey was planned to be broadcasted on a website in reality TV style. The same site was supposed to promote the "Michaelfest" event in Los Angeles by streaming videos of the preparations at the event location. The convention would include musical acts, celebrities and MJ himself as he meets with the selected four fans.

MJ and his then business partner in film projects, Raju Patel, signed a contract on February 11 2005 to create this project. Shortly after MJ got distracted by the ongoing criminal trial, and Patel died in October 2005. Patel's heirs tried to revive the project and met with MJ in March 2009 where according to them MJ confirmed his intentions to move forward with "Messages to Michael". Due to MJ's sudden death only 3 months later the project was never realised.

There was a lot of stuff "planned" in the post 2000 years that never got anywhere. Add it to the list. Doubt MJ was ever serious about the vast majority of them.

Michael had a lot of stuff planned for his fans. sadly so much was going on during those times he never actually got a chance to do half of those things. then he was a father too so he also want it to spend time with his kids too. one of the main reasons why we didn't see Michael much until early 2009.
