Google is celebrating Black History Month with a video which they claim to be based on Google Search stats from 2004 to 2019.

The Most Searched: A Celebration of Black History Makers

This Black History Month, we’re celebrating some of #TheMostSearched moments and individuals in America. To find them, we used U.S.-based Google Trends Data to identify Black American achievements that were searched more than any others between January 1, 2004 – when U.S. Search Data first became available – and July 1, 2019. Here’s to the history makers and all those they continue to inspire.

Notice how they didn’t include MJ.

Meanwhile their own search stats show a very different result:

All kinds of ridiculous. Look at the comments for their video. Everybody is calling them out. This is bullshit.

Can't say I'm surprised by this, but I'm glad to see people calling them out. They want to erase MJ from history but even after his passing he makes such an impact on people's hearts it's just a sad, futile attempt

Didn't Google themselves have to block searches of Michael Jackson when he died as so many people were searching his name at the same time and they thought it was an attack?

I remember hearing about that too, or that they did something to affect search algorithms about him. I think someone said it was a false alarm though.

This is pretty ridiculous that they would ignore him on this, though.

It was still trending when I finally went to bed after 7 hours. It was fun to be a part of, and I learned a few interesting new things about MJ. People were really putting a lot of thought into their tweets. :)
