Two Part , Four Hour Michael Jackson Documentary About 2005 Child Molestation and Conspiracy Trial, Arvizo Family Coming from A&E in June

The fascination with all things Michael Jackson never ends.

Now comes a two part, four hour documentary about Jackson’s 2005 child molestation and conspiracy trial from A&E. I’m told the special will air in June on the anniversary of Jackson’s acquittal, which is also two weeks short of 11th anniversary of his death.

The special is being put together by Atlas Entertainment, owned Michael and Michelle Walrath. Michael was described in the New York Times as a “nightlife and tech mogul.” Among their films: “Tapped” and “Fed Up.”

The filmmakers are trying to talk to everyone involved in the 2005 trial including the Arvizo family, who were used by Santa Barbara District Attorney Tom Sneddon in his vendetta against Jackson. Janet Arvizo and her then 13 year old son Gavin claimed Michael molested the boy. Eighteen grueling months of embarrassing negative publicity culminated in a graphic trial. Thanks to the truth, and defense attorney Thomas Mesereau, Jackson was acquitted. But the episode wore on Jackson and pushed him into a series of misadventures that ended his life four years later.

What will be interesting is to see if the filmmakers can get the Arvizo’s to talk, and get at the truth of what happened. I hear they’ve spoken with Sneddon’s second in command, Ron Zonen, who helped prosecute Jackson. Zonen wound up marrying a prosecution witness, Louise Palanker, who billed herself as a comedian in 2005, and testified for the family. Despite the jury verdict for Jackson, Palanker and Zonen went on to attend Gavin Arvizo’s wedding.

The Arvizo’s claimed that in addition to the molestation, Jackson had “kidnapped” them to keep them quiet. But I reported extensively on the case at the time, and none of that was true. Their so called abduction included first class hotel stays, movies, dinners out, toys, clothes, and for Janet Arvizo, spa days. Janet Arvizo was revealed on the witness stand to be a total nut when Mesereau asked if she thought Michael Jackson would take her kids away in a hot air balloon. She answered in the affirmative. Laughter broke out in courtroom, Judge Melville banged his gavel, and the trial was for most purposes over.

On one hand, I would rather just let the man rest. On the other, if it is done right and fair then it could be good to get the truth out there. If the arvisos get involved it would be interesting on what they would say in 2020. The rumor of Gavin admitting his mother put him up to it before his wedding could be proven if they end up cooperating at all...

I’m sorry. But this does not sound good to me at all. Michael went through hell and back with that trial. And after all the mess LN caused, I’m beyond sick of so-called documentaries that will undoubtedly throw more fuel on that fire. I don’t believe for even half a second that the Arvizos are going to be nice about Michael after what they and their supporters put him through for a couple of the final six years of his life. “The truth about what happened”? Please. None of these people are going to say anything about that now that they, Wade and James have had the sympathy and support of the media and haters for all this time. Nothing good for Michael is going to come from this either. This is just the next LN. I really believe that. If from some miracle, I’m wrong, I’ll be very happy. But at this point, I just don’t think so. Not after everything Michael’s fans have been through.

i will only call it a docu when ive seen it and it meats all standards of a docu.

I don't see how you could ever present the Arvizo's accusations as legitimate, even the hungriest district attorney with unlimited resources couldn't do it.

When did this happen?

How do u know this?

TM has been interviewed. I don’t know whether the Arvizos are in it. As I say - the makers were getting pro-MJ witnesses to participate by claiming it will be all about how unfair the trial was to MJ, how it should never have even come to court, etc. So this is all news to them.
— Charles Thomson (@CEThomson) January 31, 2020

so if the arvizo come out and say they lied it will be great but i doubt they will

I doubt the arvizos will take part in this at all. Dan Reed begged Gavin to feature in Leaving Neverland, it would have been the perfect platform for him and refused. Gavin probably do not want anything to with the allegations or any of it. He has nothing to gain, unless he is being paid a substantial amount but it would still cause havoc in his life. Probably the film makers will just announce they invited them to be on the show, but they did not respond.

We should keep an eye on that documentary. And the Estate should be notified about it. Pro MJ (pro truth actually) documentaries are not popular in mainstream media so the producers can always turn it against MJ with post production editing and commentaries like Bashir did it. We should be careful about this.

I don't know if I should be happy at all about this. I mean MJ full won this, but leave it to some "documentary" to paint a different picture, wouldn't surprise me at all.

I also saw some fans on Twitter being happy that Randy T is involved but I guess they aren't aware of the not so great book he wrote years ago and Michael sure didn't approve of that. To put it mildly. So is that good news at all? I rather just have them leaving Michael be, Jesus christ.

A big company doing a "documentary" on him is something I'll never blindly trust.

I’m currently leaning towards being cautiously optimistic about this. I trust Tom Mesereau’s instincts, I don’t think he’d participate in anything that has the potential to harm MJ. The truth about the 2005 trial is a story that has long been waiting to be told, and it was only a matter of time before someone picked it up.

On Twitter I see rumblings that the demon (Diane Dimond) is involved or that they are having her talk. If that's the case I think I'm out.

Truly. Let this man ****ing rest already!

If Diane Trash is involved, it will certanly make for one biased mess.

Tabloidarelli has written alot of trash about mj over the years. Remember his articles during the trial. These leeches need to get proper jobs and stop trying to create careers off mj

WTF is Diane Dimond always asked to speak about MJ and the allegations or trial? she has never shown any real depth of knowledge or insight into it. It's like they see her talking crap as an "expert" on one show and then because they're lazy they contact her for their own show.

One thing's for sure...if DD is involved in this then the production team aren't making a serious effort to be factual or impartial. Impartiality does need both sides of the argument but they should limit it to people who genuinely know what they're talking about. DD doesn't.

It just means, that unlike Dan Reed, they might want to hear from both sides. That is absolutely no problem for us, if the story is told in a fair manner as it happened and nothing is twisted. In itself Arvizo/Zonen being interviewed wouldn't bother me.
— Justice for The Falsely Accused (@JuliaBerkowitz1) January 31, 2020

So I have no issues with Arvizo/Zonen being interviewed in itself. Interview them and make them face their lies! So Randy talked shit about him in the past and now he's talking about his legacy and he's even friends with Charles Thomson. It's whatever I guess.

Regardless, it still will be great to have a rebuttal film So when people bring up LN, others can bring up this film as they do with Lies in leaving Neverland and Square one.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Someone should inform the Estate or the Jackson family about this. I can't trust this one. Let's keep our eye out on this one...

On the other hand, "In the Studio with MJ" is coming to my hometown Atlanta next month, it'll be a very big break. That's what I want to learn more about Michael. That other stuff, that's done and over with. Been there, done that, moving on...

Not to do with the film, but a curious tweet dated 30th January from Vincent Amen about the 2005 trial. Seems 'everyone' is suddenly talking about this trial - though the context here is odd.... (I assume SBDA is Santa Barbara District Attorney).

You want people to look at hard evidence and declare you innocent. Go through the Michael Jackson Trial where I had hard evidence and they didn’t want to look at it. Prosecutors only wanted to see what they wanted to.That’s why SBDA lost the conspiracy charge. Dont expect anything

I'm guessing that people like Amen will start weighing in on Twitter after the new A&E doc. is shown....
