As long as my hometown doesn’t get a case, I’ll be fine, I have to wear a mask and gloves to work tomorrow, my mom’s idea, not mine, but at least I get to see what it’s like to be Michael wearing a mask ever where he goes.

In my opinion social media made things worst. yeah it can be helpful at times. but it really made things bad. to be honest with you no media is good. if you want real good info you have to look deep hard for it.

I tend to stay away fake info and do my research before anything. though, like the old saying goes. don't judge the book from it's cover.

My mom is 72 and has severe allergies, my Dad is 73 and has severe heart issues :( So they are even more at risk.

Thankfully, they live in the countryside and are okay with staying to themselves, mowing the lawn and raking the flower beds in their garden
They perfectly fine and aokay as long they don't stay out long and wash their hands. also they don't have contact with many people.

The media always tends to scare people when they mention the outbreak happened in their country. They were supposed warn people but tell em to keep their cool and calm down at the same time, but they failed assure em’ to remain calm cause people to be idiots by hoarding the essentials we need and the pharmacies limits 1 sanitizers per customer and jacked up the price.

COVID-19 is not like the flu and uninformed influencers and celebrities really need to stop saying that. They have some symptoms in common, but COVID-19 has a much higher fatality rate and it's a lot more contagious. A person with the flu would end up infecting less than 30 people if it was passed on 10 times. A person with COVID-19 would end up infecting 59,000 people if it was passed on 10 times. The incubation period is much longer with COVID-19, so you could be walking around infecting others for as long as two weeks before you even show symptoms. This is why quarantine and social distancing is so important, but a lot of people aren't taking it seriously. Selfish idiots are going to be responsible for crippling health services and killing thousands of people.

If it's safe for you to do so then take vitamin C and vitamin D supplements to help your immune system. You can also boost your health by eating fruits and vegetables, getting adequate sleep, and doing some kind of exercise every day — even if you're stuck indoors. Most importantly, follow your government's instructions and stay at home as much as possible.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread over 80% of people who get the virus will either have no symptoms or mild symptoms which can be managed at home until you recover, so don't panic, just stay informed and alert and keep in touch with your loved ones.

As long as you don’t go anywhere for social outing, you’re much safer at home. But as for me I can only go out for if I wanna shovel snow off or take my family’s dog out. As I mentioned previously about my relatives, my mom got groceries for them and dropped them off, because they self quarantined because they were at a trip to Florida.
Well in my case I only have fresh water fish and 3 female cats as pets. And those cats are strictly indoor cats only. And where I live in Pennsylvania we hardly got any snow this year. And the only human friends I have is myself, my dolls, and the sims in my Sims games.

I understand what you mean though. i'm very to myself person too. but i still enjoy company and fresh air sometimes.
Sunshine is all good and great if you live in an area that always gets a lot of it. Where I live I don't have that all too much. And what is outside for me to enjoy? When I can't drive thanks to my disabilities that I have. So I can't get my mother and stepfather to take me to places that I want to go to. It is always where they want to go to. The only friends I ever have are myself, my 3 cats, my fresh water fish, books, video and computer related games, the sims in my Sims games, and all of my dolls and stuffed animals. I live in a town that has nothing fun to do. All of my favorite stores and other places has since permanently closed up. And all the movie theaters where I live only shows stupid boring Hollywood made movies that I really hate with a passion. I only love and prefer Bollywood and other Indian made movies only. The only Hollywood movies I really prefer and love are from Hollywood's Golden Era. Most especially Hollywood's silent movie era that I really love the most. So my idea of fun is just staying at home playing with video, computer, and iPad games. And watch you tube videos. Since thanks to my depression over what happen to Michael. I sadly can no longer do the 2 things I used to really love to do the most. And that is watching him and listening to him. Not unless I want to suffer from another anxiety or panic attack.:boohoo

Exclamation New COVID-19 tip-off may be loss of smell

he sudden loss of smell in otherwise asymptomatic adults may be a sign that they are carrying coronavirus, and could be candidates for self-quarantine.

That’s according to British ear, nose and throat experts, who are calling on clinicians to keep watch for these symptoms in an effort to slow the spread of the disease. This could be a particularly important consideration for those who don’t meet criteria for COVID-19 testing, they stated.

“[We] might be able to reduce the number of otherwise asymptomatic individuals who continue to act as vectors, not realizing the need to self-isolate,” wrote Claire Hopkins, BMBCh, president of the British Rhinological Society, and Nirmal Kumar, president of ENT UK, in a joint statement released Friday.

The loss of smell (anosmia) is not uncommon in viral illnesses such as influenza and other coronavirus strains, wrote Hopkins and Kumar. Nevertheless, they cited “good evidence” coming from colleagues in hard-hit South Korea, China and Italy that there is a high incidence of the problem in COVID-19 patients.

Colleagues are also reporting increases in the number of patients presenting with anosmia and no other symptoms, the specialists claimed. In South Korea, where testing has been more widespread than in other countries, agnosia was a major presenting symptom in 30% of patients with mild confirmed cases, Hopkins and Kumar reported.

Hopkins suspects that in her own practice, the growing numbers of patients under age 40 who experience anosmia and eventually test positive for COVID-19 are hidden carriers who are unwittingly spreading the virus.

“Unfortunately, these patients do not meet current criteria for testing or self-isolation,” she wrote.

Identifying asymptomatic cases is perhaps nowhere more important than in eldercare facilities, where COVID-19 can spread quickly and put the most vulnerable at risk. But access to testing for staff and residents has so far been limited or unavailable, even when the virus is known to have entered a facility, the Washington Post reported on Saturday.

“One worker, if infected, can become a super spreader,” researcher Lauren Ancel Myers, Ph.D., from the University of Texas at Austin, told the news outlet.

Anosmia can linger in patients after recovery from viral illness, according to Fifth Sense, a charity for people affected by smell and taste disorders. It has recently posted guidance on the condition and COVID-19.

Default Lionel Richie Thinks It's Time to Bring Back 'We Are the World' for Coronavirus Victims

"Those who are able, are we going to take our brothers and sisters in? Or are we going to leave them on the street," Lionel Richie tells PEOPLE

In March 1985, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross and more than 40 other A-list recording artists came together to sing “We Are the World.” The cause: African famine. The sales: $63 million. The chorus: “There’s a choice we’re making, we’re saving our own lives.”

Those words became part of a unifying, legendary anthem. Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and the 35th anniversary of the release of the hit song, that chorus is on Richie’s mind today. He wrote the song with Jackson.
“That line,” Richie, 70, tells PEOPLE exclusively, “came about as Michael and I were sitting there talking. We said, you can either say, ‘I’m saving my life’ or ‘We’re saving our lives.’ ’We Are the World’ is a statement we wanted to make. What do we do to save our own?”

Richie, like many Americans, is sheltering in place with his loved ones. “We are all hunkered down. Family is the key to this. It is the soother,” he says.

While at home, also like many Americans, Richie is thinking about the state of the world. Today he’s also thinking about the passing of his friend and mentor Kenny Rogers. “I must admit, every once in a while, God has to do something to get us back on track,” he says.

The American Idol judge acknowledges we have been living in such a divisive time. “We were back to there are ‘those people’ and ‘those people.’ If you find yourself saying ‘those people’ then you are not thinking properly,” Richie says.

This moment of crisis has made him stop — and step back for a wider look. “What happened in China, in Europe, it came here. So if we don’t save our brothers there, it’s going to come home. It’s all of us. All of us are in this together,” he says.

Ten years ago, a version of “We Are the World” was released to assist earthquake victims in Haiti. This month, 35 years after the song’s release, Richie is contemplating the unity music can bring. (Not to mention the badly needed charity funds.)

“Two weeks ago, we said we didn’t want to do too much [about the song] because this is not the time to sell an anniversary. But the message is so clear,” he says.

Richie says that since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, he has thought about writing a different song. (A group recording in one place together like for the 1985 song is obviously not possible during shelter-in-place orders and self-isolation.) “But every time I try and write another message, I write those same words,” he says.
