The 90s was a decade packed full of outstanding albums from an eclectic range of artists. Now we're giving you the chance to pick your favourite in our Ultimate 90s Album Poll.

Sounds of the 90s is a nostalgia drenched celebration of the best music and pop culture from the 90s - new episodes are available each week on BBC Sounds.
It’s a battle of the genres, girl power v grunge, boybands v britpop, rock and heavy metal v dance and hip hop. In true 90s fashion, we have a Top 40 for you to choose from, selected by a panel of music experts. The shortlist is based on sales from each year of the decade, alongside a selection of albums that have endured the test of time, and some slow-burners that weren't huge hits on release, but are now highly regarded.

Take a look at the full shortlist below, then vote for your Ultimate 90s Album, by 23:59 on Sunday 7 June.

The winner will be revealed in a special edition of Sounds of the 90s with Fearne Cotton, available on BBC Sounds from 23:00 on Friday 12 June.

Choice includes:
Michael Jackson - Dangerous

Slightly strange list but I've voted for Michael.

Re: Vote for MJ! (BBC Radio 2 90's Album)

Dangerous isn't really my favorite album. but my mom loves the album. I can't vote because I live in the US. but it's glad to see one of Michael albums is on there.

BBC Radio 2 have shortlisted Dangerous - MJ- please vote

Please vote in this BBC radio 2 poll- it's the biggest radio station in the UK. It would really be amazing if MJ did well in this. For once this poll is actually quite important. I'm pretty staggered the BBC have shortlisted Dangerous to be honest given their recent documentary about MJ. Let's show them he's popular and people love Dangerous!
Voting closes soon - 7 June

Re: BBC Radio 2 have shortlisted Dangerous - MJ- please vote

* I think you have to be UK based but worth a try if not

Re: BBC Radio 2 have shortlisted Dangerous - MJ- please vote

Yeah there was a thread for this already.

I don't think the poll is particularly credible however, based on some of the shortlist.

Re: BBC Radio 2 have shortlisted Dangerous - MJ- please vote

Am sharing to my reading list! Thanks for this. And I agree, it IS important.

Want to bump this in case any UK fans missed it. Important to vote!!

Sadly 'Dangerous' didn't make it into the top 10. Or into the 'results' programme. :(

Here's the results:
1. Radiohead – ‘OK Computer’
2. Oasis – ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’
3. Nirvana – ‘Nevermind’
4. Oasis – ‘Definitely Maybe’
5. R.E.M. – ‘Automatic For The People’
6. Pulp – ‘Different Class’
7. Alanis Morissette - ‘Jagged Little Pill’
8. The Verve - ‘Urban Hymns’
9. Primal Scream - ‘Screamadelica'
10. U2 - Achtung Baby

Thanks for letting us know.

Lol, Pulp (funny how in their case the Did you know? part of the article is bigger than the actual review of their album). And two Oasis albums, one preceding Nirvana. Perhaps it's legitimate and just done through "very UK lenses", but unfortunately I can't trust the BBC anymore. And what a coincidence that this is quite like a list one could predict music critics would come up with. :D
