Teddy Riley

Joy Reid will host 'Kamala: Next in Line,' part of a podcast slate that includes new seasons of 'Business Wars' and 'Dr. Death.'

Podcast network Wondery has lined up a new slate of audio programming that will cover topics as varied as the downfall of a powerful politician, the battle for pizza primacy and the rise of Kamala Harris.

The four-year-old company, which made an early mark on podcasting with shows like Dirty John and Dr. Death, is expected to announce its fall lineup today at the IAB Podcast Upfronts.

The shows include recently premiered Bunga Bunga, in which host Whitney Cummings tells the story of the rise and fall of Silvio Berlusconi, and a new season of Business Wars, dubbed Pizza Wars, that explores the matchup between Pizza Hut and Dominos. David Brown hosts the podcast, which premieres today.

Other new shows include Kamala: Next in Line, a collaboration with MSNBC in which host Joy Reid will tell the story of Joe Biden’s running mate, and Jacked, premiering Nov. 17, about music producer Teddy Riley. Taraji P. Henson hosts the show, which will chart how Riley brought about the rise of new jack swing and became a producer for Michael Jackson and New Kids on the Block before a fallout with his scandal-ridden manager, Gene Griffin.

On Nov. 10, Wondery will premiere Do No Harm, a co-production with NBC News that will use the story of the Bright family to explore how a medical and legal system devoted to protecting children from abuse can fail to protect innocent parents. Mike Hixenbaum is the host.

Also on the docket is season two of Dr. Death, which will introduce listeners to a doctor who billed insurance companies $34 million by prescribing chemotherapy to cancer-free patients and overmedicating others. The new season, which premieres Oct. 27, will also feature an exclusive interview with Jerry Harrison, a childhood friend of season one subject Christopher Duntsch who stands by the doctor.
