Rock star Eddie Van Halen dies at age 65 after a long battle with throat cancer that 'traveled to his brain'


  • Van Halen died at the age of 65 in Santa Monica, California on Tuesday
  • The co-founder of the Eighties band Van Halen had been battling throat cancer
  • He had been sick for over a decade and recently his health turned worse
  • According to TMZ, the cancer had traveled to his brain and other organs

Oh no may he rest in peace. beat it is one of my favorite songs and those guitar riffs will never get old. :(
 
Besides being a huge Michael Jackson fan, my taste for music is mostly guitar driven. Eddie is one of my heroes. Love Van Halen and having Beat It is a true gift. This actually hurts. Van Halen was the last band on my list I was still hoping to see live one day. They just wouldn't jump on that transatlantic flight since the 90's. That dream is over. Eddie will be missed. Rest in peace. All the best to his family and loved ones.

This broke my heart just as much as when MJ passed away :( ...If it wasn't for the fact that I was a massive Van Halen fan and me discovering he played the solo on Beat It, I wouldn't have become such a big MJ fan as I am today....
