I'm surprised there isnt a thread about these guys, what is your opinion on there music any fave Aerosmith songs?

My faveourite Aerosmith Songs are

Dude (Looks Like A Lady)
Back in the Saddle
Walk this way
I Don't Want To Miss A Thing

I'm trying to get into them, but Bon Jovi's making it difficult for me :D

I love both Bon jovi and aerosmith LOL

My favorites are :

I Don't Wanna Miss A Thang
Jaded (LOVE this song, it's so beautiful)
Cryin' and Crazy (pretty much the same song for me lol)

I adore Aerosmith, I would love to see them live, but they never came to Portugal... :(

And my favorites have to be Living On The Edge and Janie's Got a Gun (live version) and I choose the live because in the end Steven says: "You know what I'm talkin' about... ****..." and it really gives me the creeps because it clearly means he cares a lot about that matter.

Anyway, Aerosmith rules!

Aerosmith is no doubt one of the best rock bands ever.
I think that Steven's voice is one of the rare pure rock vocals. I LOOOOOOOOVE them.
Not very much into their stuff, but I really can't find ONE bad song by them , from those that I know. They are amazing. Hope to see them live. That would be awesome.

I want to see them live too! I only own their greatest hits cd, Pump and 9 Lives though and a dvd of one of their concerts. My first love was "I don't wanna miss a thing" but my other favourites at the moment are: Janie's got a gun, Love in an elevator, 10 inch record, Jaded, Cryin, Fly Away and What It Takes.

I love all the ballads. :D
And many other songs too but I'm too lazy now to post them.

AW: Aerosmith

I saw them live in '93 and '94 and after a long break twice last year, once indoors and once outdoors... and what can I say... they've just gotten better with age! Awesome live band!

Here some of my pics from the Arrow Rock Festival last year in Holland... I posted them a while ago on the Aerosmith board:

*envy*

It's an healthy kind of envy though... :p

I live in the Northeast....and one day, I was barrelling toward the cafeteria in the hospital where I work...I almost knocked over poor Steve Tyler...I kid you not...I looked up at him, and something deep inside the back of my brain kinda recognized him...it wasn't immediate...typical me - I am a complete ditz. So, I get into the cafeteria, get my sandwich and then stopped and said "Wait a minute - was that...." and 2 other colleagues were coming the other way - perfect timing - they said "Yes it was...". I turned BEET RED. And I kid you not. This really happened. Boy, is HE skinny and little....

I shoulda been born Blonde....no offense to blondes, but man, I am an airhead sometimes...if I had a brain, I'd be dangerous...My sister used to call me "Junior Space Cadet"....and then said that my motto was "Twilight Zone or Bust"....

Also wanted to add...I have NO idea what he was there for, and do NOT want to know...besides, I am bound by HIPAA if I knew anyway, which I don't....so don't ask me. It is his PRIVATE BUSINESS. I wouldn't disclose anything if I knew - even if there WAS no Hipaa....I think personal business is just that - personal.

Aww, don't worry! You will get your chance! They did play in Portugal and Madrid a couple of years ago! I don't think it will take 9 years before they come to Europe again! Joe Perry said at the Holland gig, that they will be back soon!

I don't know about Madrid, but I'm pretty sure they didn't come to Portugal... At least not since I became aware of Aerosmith. And that is at least 10 years now... But I'll research.

thrill :punk: coolalicous thread here , um..i love crazy ,[video theme is lush lush lush ] and love in an elevator , and pink ,

By all accounts, Joe Perry is recovering well after a health scare, but long-time Aerosmith bandmate Steven Tyler is worried anyway. He says he’s reached out to Perry, and hasn’t heard back. “It’s starting to scare me a little bit,” Tyler tells Billboard.

Tyler also has a theory on what might have caused the guitarist to falter during a Sunday (July 10) side gig with the Hollywood Vampires in Brooklyn.

“I know they’re putting out nothing but ‘he’s recovering, he’s really good, he fainted, exhaustion,'” Tyler added. “But I know my brother. He’s just about the only other guy that’s as passionate about his art as I am. He’s always asking me to do three, four [Aerosmith] shows in a row, and I can’t. I’ll blow my voice out. I know how to maintain my career, my health, and Joe’s passionate. I don’t think he knows how to. I think he’s out there and someone’s overbooking him. They’re doing like eight or nine shows in a row, or five in a row. I think they’re all a little burnt. I think they may need to look at that. Not young anymore, y’know?”

Perry was gigging in support of the Hollywood Vampires’ self-titled 2015 album when he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. That diagnosis has not yet been officially confirmed or denied. The Vampires continued their tour without Perry, though they expect him back. Tyler and Perry are then due to rejoin the rest of Aerosmith for a South American tour that begins Sept. 29.

“I don’t give a s— about the band. I want Joe to live,” Tyler says. “I’m really concerned and worried right now that I’m not getting any news. I’m a little bummed out, and that scares me. I don’t know whether it’s heat prostration or whether he’s been working himself too hard, or getting off on wrong things passionately. I don’t know what it is, but I know that nobody’s talking to me. I can only tell you that Joe’s my brother and I love him so much.”

Tyler hasn’t exactly slowed down lately, either. He’s also on road, just ahead of the Friday (July 15) release of the country-themed We’re All Somebody From Somewhere.

Just bumping this as was listening to 'Get A Grip' this morning.

Great album that reinvigorated Aerosmith in the early '90s.

Three cracking singles with great videos. 'Livin On The Edge', Cryin' and Crazy.

I seem to recall this being out same time as Dangerous and watching Casey Kasem's American Chart Show each week, with great videos from MJ, Madonna's Erotica, Get A Grip, janet as well as some cool hip/hop soul from En Vogue, Salt n' Pepa, TLC.

Good times.

But yeah...Aerosmith.

Im devastated I wont get to see them in June. Why are all bands playing weekdays in Ireland?

Get A Grip was such a good album. Eat the Rich intro is just bloody brilliant. Batgirl in every video.

I actually find myself listening to Jaded a lot, aswell as Mama Kin and Dream On from A Little South of Sanity. Remember Walkin In The Sand is one of my favourites too, even though Joe doesnt play...

Giving some lesser known gems a push:

Finally, two from Steven's country album:

One of my favourites

I wanna wrap you in rubbuh' .... Oh Nine Lives is a brilliant album. Got it when I was arriving onto my teens. Hole in my Soul, Hard on the Knees, Full Cirle, Attitude Adjustment. and the bonus track from Armageddon.....

Will you stop making me feel old!

Re: bonus track from Armageddon, I bet it pisses them off that it could the track they're remembered for!

Written by Darren Warren I believe.

Hole In My Soul will always be the best Aerosmith song ever. Funny that I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing was so huge, but the far superior Hole In My Soul from the same album hardly made an impact at all. Yet more confirmation (if it were ever needed) that the general public wouldn't know a quality song if it came and slapped them in the face.

I guess IDWMAT benefited by essentially being a AOR ballad. Good song though I guess.

Aerosmith have postponed their plans for a fall 2017 American tour to work on some new music.

The band has spent most of the past five months talking about its Aero-Vederci Baby! tour, which may or may not be the group’s last. But now, plans to bring that tour to North America have been tabled so they can work on a new album, according to a new interview with guitarist Joe Perry.

“We postponed the American tour we were supposed to do this fall,” he told AZ Central. “And we’re gonna go out and tour until we’re done. And we’re gonna try and hit every place we’ve ever played and never played. There’s always new places to go. New countries. I’d like to play China and the Far East. There’s a lot of places that are off the beaten path. Is this the last tour? Well, I don’t know. I don’t think so.”

Aerosmith are still scheduled to play some overseas dates starting in May that will keep them on the road until early July. Perry said that “one of the reasons we postponed [the American] tour” was to “give ourselves some time to get something done. We definitely have another record in us, if not two. But we’ll see how that goes.”

Perry has previously said that the upcoming tour will be an extensive one, but, despite its name, the shows shouldn’t be construed as their final ones. When asked by AZ Central if this will be a farewell tour, he said, “Not officially, no.”

“Try and picture your last meal,” he explained. “You’re only gonna eat so many times in your life. You’re gonna sit down at the table 258 million times. There’s a finite number of times you’re gonna do anything in your life. To picture a final Aerosmith gig, it’s like … I can’t do it. There’s too much of that ‘rock until you drop’ ingrained into this band. But like I said, we’re at the end, so who knows how long it’s gonna go?”
