Post The Casico Tracks | Another Look

The Casico Tracks | Another Look

Okay so, I know that this is a touchy subject but I just wanted to take a second to have a look at the tracks.

If you're new here and you still aren't aware, the tracks in question are:

    • Keep Your Head Up
    • Monster
    • Breaking News

These three tracks were released on the 2010 album, "Michael". They stirred up quite a bit of controversy about the legitimacy of them. Many people still believe that the tracks are Michael and are just heavily edited. However, I believe that the tracks contain the vocals of Jason Malachi and not Michael Jackson. This is all but 100% confirmed as far as I am concerned due to the many comments by artists that worked on the album, Jason Malachi and even Sony Records themselves.

What Sony and even the Estate did by adding these fake tracks on to the album and lying was absolutely disgusting and wrong. This post is in no way denying that fact, but it also isn't about that. This discussion is created to actually have a look at the songs themselves, not that they were faked, but the actual quality of the tracks.

I personally believe that all three tracks were written by Michael Jackson and maybe even a super rough demo was recorded, whether that be one of Michael's famous cassette acapella demos or a rough guide vocal demo. However, as far as I am aware, that has not been confirmed, so take it completely as my opinion.

When it comes to the album as a whole, I think it's a great album and the finished tracks capture Michael's sound magnificently. As for the Casico tracks themselves, I can say the same again. I personally like them, again I think they capture Michael's style and Michael's sound amazingly. Of course I would have much preferred a 7 track album, without faux songs but I don't dislike the tracks at all, I dislike the circumstances they were created for and the way they were sold, the tracks themselves, I don't mind at all.

What is your opinion on the tracks themselves?

    Thanks,

    ~Dan~

Default The possible truth behind the "Cascio Tracks"

I think everyone here knows what are the Cascio Tracks. And we the fans hate them, but why? In 2007 TMZ made an article about a song called "Mamacita" and they say that is made by Jackson which is not true, it's made by Jason Malachi. But then Jason finds out TMZ thinks is MJ and then he contacted his attorney to tell TMZ that is him, not Michael. And since this story, Jason's career rises a lot and even to the point Michael Jackson himself CONTACTED Jason's manager to ask if Jason wants to do something together. And here we can start to theorizing... So, we know the Cascio tracks are recorded in 2007 and at the SAME time, Michael contacted Malachi's manager to do somethin' together. I think Jason recorded these 12 tracks for Michael but if Michael liked it or not, we never knew. And If you listen to Cascio Tracks, the way Jason is singing is different from all of his other songs and the Cascio Tracks are the only Jason's song that has Michael sounds like grunts and etc... So, what you guys think about this topic???

Sure...MJ the biggest star in the world, contacted a friggin' impersonator to work with him.
MJ said NO to PHARRELL but sure, he contacted MALACHI to work together.

Hollywood Tonight, Behind The Mask, Best of Joy, Much Too Soon.

All tracks I enjoy, immensely! That's a testament to Michael... I personally don't like Invincible so those tracks and the original versions on Xscape (except for the re-done version of Love Never Felt...That's a great track) remind me of how great Michael was.

Best of Joy is quite emotiove

Hopefully one day there will be some consequences for them when it comes to this. I think a lot of fans have not forgotten.

Jason recorded those vocals in 2010. Some of the songs didn't even exist in 2007. They wrote majority of those 12 songs after MJ died.

I actually really like Breaking News. It's got a great beat. Lyrics aren't great. When you sit and think about it, the fact 3 fake songs were included is absolutely shocking and Sony should have been held accountable.

Not forgotten. Just don't care. Personally, I didn't care that much at the time, to be perfectly honest. Seven out of the ten songs on the "Michael" album are quite good. Not as good as they would have been if MJ had finished them and released them himself, but we can say that for any of the posthumous songs that have been released, for that matter. I don't think Sony or the Estate will lose the class action being brought, over the Cascio songs.....I just don't.

I'd like to see a hybrid album released at some stage in the future, with the strongest tracks from Invincible and Michael on it, plus maybe four "new" songs, such as Invincible out-takes or demos/unreleased tracks from the whole time period of 2000 - 2009. It could be called Invincible Michael, or Unbreakable Michael.....something like that.

I might play the Michael album and just skip the songs I don't like, the way I have done for the past ten years.
So that would be, Monster, Breaking News and Much Too Soon. I quite like Keep Your Head Up.

Think the issue is that MJ is not singing on three of the songs, not that they are not "quite good". I don't think fans should stop bringing attention to it. It's a disgrace that one of the greatest artist of all time has three fake songs on display as part of his discography. Once they apologise and remove the tracks I guess I'll move on. Even then still disgraceful money motivated behaviour on their part. I don't know if they will win or lose, still, I think that something should be tried.
