I wanted to check the status of this matter after years of absence in this board. Unfortunately I see that there is not much progress.. or things are going very slowly..
It is very courageous from Vera Serova to have filed a lawsuit, but it's been 4 years since the case was opened and nothing...
Don't consider that any official product is perfect..
Don't take for granted that it has to be very well enhanced because it was done by professionals... some of them really don't care about MJ.. we do!
When I look the facts, I can see there are several points where it could be done much more...

Some months ago mjjlatvia asked me for a way to remove the halos - you know these black areas around the edges - so I wrote a script to detect and fix them. It was just a try and I'll let him work on this source.. :)

The video posted on Sony France Youtube's channel indeed suffers heavy compression.
indeed.. the 108Mb version is the direct stream copy of amazon and with a very good compression rate. The weird thing is that it looks more (and poorly) enhanced than the TV Trailer !

I say it again.. the problem here is not the compression. 3000kbps is very acceptable for x264.
Look at Michael's face on the following picture. They applied too strong filters.. which gives the feeling it was colored like a cartoon.. with a limited number of colors - without nuances...
I just tell from facts: there are obviously several mistakes in the way the clips were processed.
You might be satisfied with the quality, but if I had the VHS source, I would probably be able to make you think different.. ;)
I think you assume wrong.. and I will give you 2 reasons:
- The Amazon clip looks more enhanced than the TV Trailer. Why would they enhance a second time the video to put it on internet? It doesn't make sens..
- The work made on Trailer is very amateurish.. The fields were messed up during...
