I am becoming increasingly obsessed with his entire lower body. I mean...this should be obvious in a thread titled "Michael's Manhood" but idk. I'm always so absorbed in his fully glorious appearance, including his gorgeous face, hair, lips, shoulders, etc. But right at this moment I am like obsessed with his entire lower half. His legs, his thighs, that incredible "rear view" we are always talking about, and of course the front - literally all of it. It's making me feel faint!

This is like the closest we will ever get to to a live version of the panther dance and it is straight up too much for me!

Also, can we just talk about how goddamn sexy he looks in this entire performance! Yes, his lower half is destroying me right now, but the loose white shirt and the hair, the attitude, omg.

Same. Posted a poem in 'What are you doing now' thread but really wanted to put it over here. Almost at the stage where, if I'm not posting something into one of the picture threads - or, ideally, here in Manhood - then I might as well not bother. OK, bit of an exaggeration but you know what I mean, right?

Totally understand! I posted a tribute to Michael in the June 25 2022 thread but that thread is (apparently) mostly used for sharing social media posts about Michael and not long, emotional writings lol. I mean, I’m sure it could be, but I’m pretty sure that tribute is buried now. I was really hoping to read other people’s reflections too!

Oh, and I know completely what you mean!
 
So I am finally home from my family event and now am catching up on everything I missed about Michael today. However, one exciting development. My birthday is in a few weeks but my husband decided to surprise me with an early gift. He bought me an issue of Time magazine from 1984 that has a cover article on Michael. The article is fascinating, mostly because the journalist has absolutely no idea how to pin down Michael. It’s written positively but clearly is also confused about who he was. What amazes me is how consistent it reads with how we still talk about Michael today.

Anyway Im thinking of scanning it and sharing it somewhere. But in the meantime I thought I’d share this “manhood” related excerpt that I really enjoyed!

I just love these descriptions and the thought put into discussing his sex appeal. For example, it never occurred to me that his sex appeal might involve the fact that he was so unattainable. Really interesting stuff!

Anyway I hope you all had an ok day! I got home tonight and started to cry right away because I was finally able to take the time I needed to.

I love stuff like this. I love it when I find a photo from a newspaper or magazine with an article attached and I can read a bit of how Michael was being written about back in the day. Not all of it was positive but much of it was.

Yeah, this is interesting. The UK take on this was more along the lines of 'Michael isn't cool enough to be seen as sexy or desirable'. Or they thought he was trying too hard. I don't know if that was widespread or if that particular attitude was more coming from the pop papers but it was a thing.
