Michael Jackson: 2006 to 2009 music

Michael was recording two things: a classical album and a pop album. He actually planned on releasing Hold My Hand (feat. Akon) as the lead single for the pop project (until it got leaked in 2008) and he was going to release singles throughout the This Is It residency. He was going to try to...

    MJ "Scream" T-Shirts?

Does anyone know of any t-shirts I can get that have a picture from the Scream video set? I feel like anything like a black t-shirt with a picture from the Scream video would be awesome and I feel like there has to be ones made out there. Anyone know of any? Maybe one where he like smashes the...

Making Michael: Inside the Career of Michael Jackson (Excerpts on page 19)

Just finished the book- honestly it's SO great in my opinion! Definitely one of the best books I've ever read on his career, I also have Man in the Music by Vogel but I think this one goes way more in-depth into making of the albums and then the era that surrounded it when they were released...

Janet has a song about Michael on her new album....

The tributes to Mike run throughout the album- this is clearly a song 100% dedicated to him but if you listen through the album you hear a lot of things that make you think of MJ :) I love it

    Liberian Girl!

This was my favorite song on the album from first play. One of his most beautiful tracks ever imo. Very exotic, romantic, atmospheric, and just plain unique. LOVE this so much

Jerkins said Michael was gonna make new album

Oh definitely. I feel like around fall of 2010 or something it could have been released, after a good solid year of slaying the stage with This is It and preparing the album, etc.

    "Susie"

I just realized Michael uses the name "Susie" a lot in his songs, why do you think that is? Is there a reason for it? In Superfly Sister he says "Susie likes to agitate," in Blood on the Dancefloor, Susie is the antagonist again, and then of course a whole song built around "Little Susie."...

    Mj's Magnum Opus

Agreed with this. HIStory is his most diverse and interesting album. HIStory + Dangerous... hard call to say which one is technically "better" but to me HIStory is my favorite Michael album and it's just simply amazing.

    Invincible appreciation thread

Re: So, Invincible is much better than everybody thought.... To touch on the topic of Invincible being compared to his past work, hey, honestly I see why you would compare. It only makes sense to. Invincible is an amazing album with quite a few filler tracks that needed to be cut down to a...

    Invincible appreciation thread

Re: So, Invincible is much better than everybody thought.... It was marketed as a comeback album though. "Heartbreaker" is a great track, should have been a single. The production distracts from the great backing vocals and harmonies but all together it's a great, futuristic track! Love it.

    Motown 25: Brief Rehearsal Clips

What kills me is that there must be literally thousands of hours of MJ footage out there that we can't see!! It'd probably take years to sit and watch all the possible footage there is out there that we haven't been able to watch... rehearsals, studio time, making music videos, photoshoots, etc...

    What's next?

OMG yes!!! My ultimate favorite! That song is perfection, those vocals and that beautiful melody. One of his best!

Re: So, Invincible is much better than everybody thought.... I love The Lost Children. The melody and vocals are beautiful and I love the harmonizing during the last chorus. Break of Dawn is up there with some of my favorite MJ tracks.

    What's next?

Honestly, Slave to the Rhythm is my least favorite track on the album. I don't know what it is, it just sounds the most dated out of all of the tracks.

    What's next?

Well I definitely love your ideas! Doing a short film would be really a great idea with all the current celebrities! And omg I totally agree with you, today the music industry is BORING. There is no creativity, no effort, no originality, no excitement! I've never seen the industry as boring as...

    What's next?

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I totally see where you are coming from and what you are trying to say! Of course it would be way more exciting for them to do more creative things and get the fans more pumped up and also the general public, but it really is just so damn difficult to do anything...

    What's next?

Honestly guys, don't look at the faults toward the label or towards people "forgetting Michael". It has nothing to do with either of them. The bottom line is that Michael is no longer here to promote his art and because of that interest will ALWAYS be lower. People have such a low attention span...

    History could have been better

HIStory is Michael's best album, in my opinion. When I first started discovering his music; HIStory hit so many cords with me. It's so emotional, pained and packed full of so much of this angry energy that he clearly needed to let go of and you just feel him on this album in ways that none of...

    Invincible appreciation thread

Re: So, Invincible is much better than everybody thought.... What in the literal hell even is that review? In what world is "Butterflies" or "Speechless" considered generic? LOL. Seriously, most critics are so absorbed in themselves and their biased opinions that I think they don't even listen...
