It Backfired

The media aired programs about Michael’s changing appearance as a way to ridicule him and get high ratings while doing it, but it backfired.

Instead, it allowed the children of today to quickly figure out that the little boy named Michael Jackson that had brown skin and was singing "ABC" is the man named Michael Jackson that has white skin and is singing "You Rock My World."

Thanks media. Thanks for inadvertently giving them a speedy update. What they figured out in a matter of hours probably would have taken them much, much longer—like years.

Sneddon pulled the 1108 move as a way to bolster his weak ’03-’05 case, but it backfired.

Instead, it gave Michael’s legal team an opportunity to discredit the accuser(s) of ’93 and also allowed Michael’s legal team to unveil the people that were planting all the lies in the tabloids.

Thanks Sneddon. Thanks for inadvertently giving Michael’s attorneys an opportunity to reach back to ’93 to do some cleanup work—all without Michael ever breaking the agreement to never speak about ’93.

Feel free to add other things that backfired for the mockers, MJ Fans.

The media said no one would ever work with MJ again. It backfired. The producers are queing up to work with him and they just won't shut up about it.

This just proves one thing, and one thing only...

Oh yeah!!!

The thing I will never, ever forget is when Sneddon, assuming he had an ace in his pocket, subpoenad Debbie Rowe to the trial thinking she was gonna add some nail to Michael's coffin. Instead, he got the exact opposite. The media was also salivating reporting that if anyone could hurt Michael, it was Debbie, the mother of his children. Well, Debbie got up there and shocked the hell out of Sneddon and the media! Even T-Mez was taken aback.

To me, this was a major backfire!!

-A lot of people thought he was over after the 1993 allegations and thought he would never go on to sell another record again but Mike proved them wrong and went on to have a record breaking #1 single (You are not alone) and an album (History) that is supposedly the biggest selling double disk album ever.

-The whole trial backfired for the media. They were all putting their money on a guilty verdict and being very biased in their reporting in favor of the prosecution but when MJ was found not guilty it was a shock for a lot of them, so that backfired BIG TIME for them!

-Claimed that after the trial Michael would run and never return to the U.S. Well Mike returned to the U.S. after going to Bahrain to get away from it all for a while and has gotten an overall very good reception everywhere he went (i.e. James Brown funeral, the place went crazy for him).

I can say definitely that the prosecution's insistence to include the 1108 crap backfired spectacularly. Not only did it make the current allegations look more ridiculous, but it got a lot of people who used to think he was guilty in 93 actually questioning the validity of the old allegations too. Having not 1 but 3 kids (now grown men Brett Barnes, Mac Culkin, Wade Robson) come to court and testify to smack down false allegations was absolutely devastating to prosecutors

The media reported almost everyday that Michael would be too fragile to make it through the trial. But he made it.....all the way to the 14 NOT GUILTY VERDICTS!

That second raid on Neverland to catch Michael by surprise WITHOUT HIS LAWYER backfired too. They claimed they did it for a DNA test, but DNA was never used in Michael's trial. They wanted to catch Michael by surprise and concoct some lies to use against him in the already weak trial. But this endeavor backfired on them when Mez was tipped off about the secret raid and called Mike and had him to leave with his children until he got there.

And who will ever forget all that porn! That backfired too because most people, including the media were expecting the prosecution to present child porn in the trial, instead they presented heterosexual porn. Then Mac took the stand and affectively put himself in the same position with Michael when he admitted that he had porn too when he was young. All the prosecution did was make Michael look more human and heterosexual by parading all that porn in the courtroom. It did not give them what they wanted at all.

Everything has backfired. It's called karma.

They talk about his appearance = kids who didn't witness his "transformation" realise the Michael Jackson they see on the news is the Michael Jackson that sung their favourite songs and they will buy his album/watch his videos when they come out.

They predict a guilty verdict = they eat crow.

All we can hope for now is that all the media's negative spin on his involvement with kids will turn into a postive and Michael is awarded a Noble Peace Prize.

Eminem thought he would ridicule MJ while he was fighting for his life. He put out a song called "Just Lose It" with a video that had MJ's nose falling off. The evil stunt backfired.

Eminem's album fail off the charts right afterwards and never resurfaced.

MJ's nose falling off is fiction. Eminem's album falling off is non-fiction.

Let's not forget Diane Dimond running around with that 1993 settlement document. Oh man, you have no idea how many people thought it contained all this language about forcing the accuser not to testify and that it would have Mike admitting guilt to molestation, etc. It was ridiculous. Real lawyers, even prosecutors like Paul Pfingst, got to that document and totally ripped it to shreds. He all but called it an insurance settlement.

It backfired when prosecution produced a magazine that was identified by a witness as being the very mag Michael had showed him, problem was, it was dated months after the accusers had left the ranch (nice one Sneddon).

yeah, and Eminem's marraige has failed too. With his potty mouth :pth:

Executing over 100 search warrants backfired.

Executing over 100 search warrants and coming up empty-handed just proves there was nothing to find. They should have figured that out before they reached 99.

That`s right "Karma" what goes around comes around.

Kinda made Sneddon look a little like Geraldo Rivera and the AL Capone vault fiasco, huh? ...LOL!!

All I want is for the ultimate karma storm to pull all the hidden people behind this whole mess out of the shadows. It's time that these folks face the music in front of the public so everybody finally knows what frauds, liars, shysters and troublemakers they are to have done all these things to Michael. Michael deserves that much after all he's been through. These people get away with what they did year after year while Michael gets vilified year after year in the press and public. I really hope that Miss Karma is only clearing her throat in dealing with the few people that she has so far in this, because she hasn't even started to sing yet.

It has backfired on all who denigraded Michael's look and fashion sense.

He is on the cover of a magazine known for its high fashion focus.

It has backfired on all who tried to say that no one would want to work with Michael Jackson again.

Writers and producers are lining up to be a part of his next project; "stars" of today report how nervous they got upon meeting Michael for the first time. Italian Vogue contacted him about doing a photo shoot. Roberto Cavelli (sp?) attached his name to Michael's latest fashion style.

Thanks for creating this thread. It is all about upon what you choose to focus. :flowers:

what has failed is the haters attempt to ostracize him... trying to create this post hoc falacy.. that a guy that does plastic surgery is a guy that is capable of hurting the innocent...and ...that he has NO fans...

And let me add to this....

The fans were not the only ones who wanted to see Jordan Chandler testify in this trial. The media could not stop speculating on whether or not he would show up. They as well as the public expected this guy to show up and shed some light on Michael's alleged pass. The media even lied and reported that Jordy had testified against Michael at the grand jury. But we all found out that not only did he duck the grand jury, but the trial as well. And I think that this was one of the most disappointing things of all. For fans, it was disappointing because we wanted the truth to come out and Mez to have the opportunity to discredit Jordy before the whole world. But for the media and some of the world, it left doubt and disbelief in their minds about 93 because everybody knows that Jordy is a man now and no one could understand why he did not feel some sort of duty to come forward and help the new alleged victim to make their case. Jordy was expected to come forward just like men were coming forward to testify against all those catholic priest. But he was a no show....the most famous no show of all!

Oh, and let's not forget about the ridiculous CONSPIRACY CHARGES! They were so utterly unbelievable, the media couldn't even do anything with them. I mean, Sneddon tried to paint Michael as some Michael Corleone wanna be who was surrounded by sychophants who did his dirty work for him.

It totally backfired! Michael's may look gangstah, but he just a sweetie pie!

Yes that was indeed ridiculous and desperate on the prosecutions part.

after a hard day out here in l.a., this line provided me with a good laugh   thanks gurl!

The worldwide press conference that Sneddon held in November '03 backfired on him.

He summoned reporters from all across the globe to come and watch him boast before he had even pressed charges. Thousands of reporters answered the call.

By the time everything had finished running its course and the trial was over, photos of Michael Jackson with the words "NOT GUILTY," "CLEARED," "ACQUITTED," "VINDICATED," "EXONERATED," and "INNOCENT" were traveling around the world via major newspapers, magazines and Internet news websites.

Michael Jackson has finally gotten his wish. The words that he's waited over a decade to hear are out and have been echoing across the globe ever since the reporters that Sneddon summoned started sending out these words.

For those that thought the word "innocent" was not out there, this article below is an example that it is. Look at the link to see the name of the major news company.

Michael Jackson Innocent Of All Charges After Bizarre Trial
Greg Levine, 06.13.05, 5:25 PM ET

NEW YORK - Doers and doings in business, entertainment and technology:

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson learned his fate on Monday. The singer/dancer/actor had been arrested in 2003, charged with ten counts of child abuse; he pleaded not guilty. After deliberating for seven days, a jury of his peers--the assemblage of whom could be no easy task--handed in their verdict: Not guilty on all charges.

The King of Pop's trial tops a 100-year span that has seen more than its share of legal grotesqueries. The Gilded Age declared the 1906 trial of Harry K. Thaw for the murder of bon vivant architect Stanford White the "trial of the century." Complete with lurid tabloid reports, sex scandals and insanity pleas, it set the tone for decades of media bread-and-circuses.

Jackson's trial was no different. Accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy on his dreamlike Neverland Ranch, the entertainer's due legal process ran the gamut from incongruously silly to darkly disturbing, as the line between the odd and the unacceptable was probed. He showed up late several times, changed his defense team and claimed to suffer a series of odd medical ailments; besides necessitating emergency-room trips, often the illnesses required him to attend court in his pajamas. A parade of celebrity friends and colleagues testified, including Jay Leno, host of General Electric (nyse: GE - news - people )-owned NBC's Tonight Show, and former child start Macaulay Culkin. Outside the Santa Maria, Calif., courtroom, it was just as surreal. Over the course of the proceedings, the throngs of media were joined by thousands of well-wishers, advocates and fans in a near-religious pilgrimage from all over the globe. On June 2, both prosecution and defense made their final arguments. With Jackson supposedly deep in debt, the trial raises another, non-legal, question: Will he sell his stake in the Beatles' music catalog? Co-owned with Sony (nyse: SNE - news - people ) via the Sony/ATV Music Publishing firm, the catalog is highly prized in the current market: By Reuters' estimates, the "portfolio" is valued at $500 million, with the 40-year-old Beatles songs accounting for some 66% of that. History passes, scandals fade, but some things never go out of style.

They tried to make Michael Jackson lose the support of his fans.
Instead, Michael Jackson's FANS gathered around him even closer and
supported him throughout the trial until we were all
VICTORIOUS!!!!!! :salut:

here's a "it backfired" story for you...i work with at-risk kids in a youth ministry out here...my particular duties have me working in a private christian high school and i deal with teens trying to get out of hardcore gangs, off drugs and out of violent home lives....these guys are HARD...

yet....

when they found out i loved mike jack and had most if not all of his music, a few of them asked me to burn them a copy of michael's music  ....

i did (shoot me, sony) and next thing i know, i walk in the classroom yesterday and "wanna be startin' somethin" is playing quiety in one of the corners  ....then i walked into the office of one of our administrators and "remember the time" was thumpin...i was like "Girl, is that my cd playin?"....she was like "Yeah girl!"

i know a lot of teens out there who really love michael in spite of everything that's gone down...yet none of them know who tom sneddon or diane dimond is

P.S.-----> before i move to new york next month, they want to see all the videos

the whole thing from 93 to this day and the 205 court case has always been bs . They have been tring to make Michael look bad and get ride of him . All has backfired and they all look as stupid as they really are. It didn,t work cause the trueth always out ways the lies and i,m so glad it did. Yep it all backfired and i was glad they all eat crow.

See that? Admiration for Michael Jackson is intact. Love for him has been put to the test and has passed.

He faced the criminal justice system. He held his head up high while doing it. He came through it with dignity and he is as sweet and loving as ever before.

He is proof that you don't have to let a bad situation get you down. You can rely on God to help you get through the toughest of times.

Gurl, you betta start roundin' up those videos quick!

Oh! And the media folks that were saying Michael was living in exile were so off the mark.

The one living in exile is Martin Bashir.
