Not a fan of this idea. I hated Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka and found him to be really annoying. And I don't think he and MJ were anything a like. I think Depp's portrayal of Willy Wonka is like the media's version of MJ, but he's nothing like the real MJ

You used the Forum Game prefix when you made this thread.
I have no clue what you're talking about. This is just a visual of what he wouldve been as the character. Thats my idol. Idk what your trying to make out of this

It was obviously an accident... I've never seen that option. But sorry. I didn't know it was that important!

It's not a big deal, it's just misleading and people keep doing it. I assumed you'd know what I meant since it was there. But nevermind.

I think MJ would have done great in film if he was given the chance to take more major roles on like this.

There's only one true Willy Wonka, and that's Gene Wilder

Is it true that Michael created some tracks for the Willy Wonka movie that weren’t eventually used by Warner? I recall reading that somewhere... anyways I wonder if these demos still exist and if so, I’d looove to hear them

Yes, it is true.

It was actually a soundtrack that Michael Jackson created for that film, while the film was being worked on (before the selection of the lead role).

He gave that soundtrack to Warner Bros. in the hopes of getting the lead role of Willy Wonka’s character.

Warner Bros. eagerly took from him the soundtrack, but he refused to give him the Willy Wonka’s lead role.

In actual fact, Warner Bros. (for getting that soundtrack) offered him any other role of that film along with a big financial return.

The situation reached a dead end, Michael Jackson did not want any other role (but only Willy Wonka’s role) and he did not want to get the money for that soundtrack either.

The soundtrack that Michael Jackson gave to Warner Bros. is still in the possession of the company under lock and key.

Okay thanks for clearing all of that up for me! I wonder if we'll ever get to hear the soundtrack leaked or released

Noone knows how much of a "Soundtrack" that actually is.
It's likely just a few pieces and ideas that he pitched to Warner, to then do a full soundtrack or score etc when an agreement would have been reached.

That would have been during the trial and pre trial though. I highly doubt he was discussing any major projects between 2003 to 5

Development of movies can take ages sometimes. Surely a couple of years in most cases before pre-production starts. Warner purchased the rights in 1998. The screenplay writer was hired in 1999. See more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_and_the_Chocolate_Factory_(film)#Development

So if this soundtrack story is true, it happened between 1998 and November 2003.

But keep in mind everyone, this whole story is only based on claims by Mark Schaffel in Randall Sullivan's sensationalist book "Untouchable: The Strange Life and Tragic Death of Michael Jackson" (2011). Which makes it about as believable as anything that the likes of tabloid trash authors Randy Taraborrelli or Ian Halperin ever wrote. (mj_frenzy's preferred sources for "true" and "actual facts".)

It might be true, it might be exaggerated, it might be completely made up.
It could be just based on some people thinking Johnny Depp was somehow channelling Michael Jackson in his acting in that movie.

As far as I remember hearing, Michael ended working with Schaffel after he found out that Schaffel was involved with the gay porn industry. Schaffel and Michael also sued each other at some point. Which is a good reason to not take all of Schaffels statements at face value, especially not if they pop up in such a book.
