MJ & Batman (1989)?!

I was reading the imdb trivia of Michael and came out this:

"Was asked to write and perform the songs for Batman (1989), but had to turn it down due to his concert commitments"

Is there more info on this?, anyone knows something?
 
I heard that the Batman soundtrack was orginally planned to be half MJ songs and half Prince songs. I don't know how true that is, but that's what I've always heard in the past.
 
Probably because the soundtrack is Warner Brothers. MJ was Epic Records/Sony and Prince was Warner Brothers.

Wouldn't surprise me if that was true. MJ was always having problems like that.....which is why he was never listed when he appeared on The Simpsons in the episode "Stark Raving Dad"
