Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

the album will be a failure!

I wouldn't go as far as to proclaim it a failure just yet. I mean, they can still market the album off to the general public, as long as they're unaware of its controversy.

The credits for Breaking News are: Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio, Frank Cascio, Bobby Ewing, Teddy Riley, John McClain.

But who is Bobby Ewing?Showbiz411 and Roger Friedman report that Breaking News was written by Michael Jackson, Eddie Casc...io and Bobby Ewing. They also mention Bobby Ewing and James Porte as one and the same, though I've only seen a small amount of info on a James Porte and I'm not necessarily convinced it's the same guy. http://www.showbiz411.com/2010/11/08/michael-jackson-sings-about-himself-on-new-song-breaking-news

Friedman says in another article that the songs sung were originally Bobby Ewing's, written with Frank Cascio, but that they then recorded over vocals with Michael's. Perhaps they were always intended as demos for MJ.

I've found a Bobby Ewing found on Last.FM. His manager is none other than Frank Dileo - see management under 'more information' on the right hand column.

http://www.last.fm/music/Bobby+Ewing

http://cluster.indie-music.com/Bobby_Ewing/

His only track of real note is Exotic Dancer, a promo-only track that is a take on Pussycat Dolls' Buttons, produced by Polow Da Don. Polow worked on the Dancing Machine mix on The Remix Suite last year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSdzJZzUmNc

Could it be that Bobby Ewing is one of the singers on Breaking News, Dileo giving his new act a leg-up by getting him involved in the project while MJ was still alive, and now he has been brought back in to finish what was started alongside him? It's not the first time that Dileo has been involved post-death; he was part of the team on This Is It too.

Strangely, his Last.FM biography was edited (to be cleared?) on Sunday night according to the list of activity on his Last.FM profile, hours before Breaking News was released. His MySpace account is also now defunct, though when that happened is uncertain.

What we hear of Michael I believe is taken from other songs such as You Rock My World and On The Line.

why because they sound similar? Doesn't mean anything to me.

Because of these questions, I was immediately asked by co-Executors John Branca and John McClain to conduct an investigation regarding the authenticity of the lead vocals on the Cascio tracks.

Six of Michael’s former producers and engineers who had worked with Michael over the past 30 years - Bruce Swedien, Matt Forger, Stewart Brawley, Michael Prince, Dr. Freeze and Teddy Riley - were all invited to a listening session to hear the raw vocals of the Cascio tracks in question. All of these persons listened to the a cappella versions of the vocals on the Cascio tracks being considered for inclusion on the album, so they could give an opinion as to whether or not the lead vocals were sung by Michael. They all confirmed that the vocal was definitely Michael.

Michael’s musical director and piano player on many of his records over a 20-year period, Greg Phillinganes, played on a Cascio track being produced for the album, and said the voice was definitely Michael’s. Dorian Holley, who was Michael’s vocal director for his solo tours for 20 plus years (including the O2 Concert Tour) and is seen in the This Is It film, listened to the Cascio tracks and told me the lead vocal was Michael Jackson.
Would it be possible for the estate to allow the people mentioned above to release their own statements with their own opinions?

The Estate then retained one of the best-known forensic musicologists in the nation to listen to the vocals without any instrumental accompaniment (“a cappella”), and to compare them with a cappella vocals from previous Michael songs. This expert performed waveform analysis, an objective scientific test used to determine audio authenticity, on the Cascio tracks, as well as previously released tracks with Michael’s voice, and reported that ALL of the lead vocals analyzed (which included Cascio tracks) were the voice of Michael Jackson.

Sony Music conducted their own investigation by hiring yet a second well-respected forensic musicologist who also compared the a cappella lead vocals from Cascio tracks against previously released vocals of Michael's, and found that Michael’s voice was the on all sets of the raw vocals. The Cascio tracks were also played for two very prominent persons in the music industry who played crucial roles in Michael’s career. Both of these individuals believed that the lead vocals were Michael’s.

Would it be possible for the estate to release these reports and confirm that the vocal tracks these experts analyzed is the same track that is on the streaming version of BN?
Just to be absolutely certain, I also contacted Jason Malachi, a young singer who some persons had wrongfully alleged was a “soundalike” singer that was hired to sing on the Cascio tracks, and I confirmed that he had no involvement with this project whatsoever.
Jason Malachi: could you please make your own statement?

Although there still seem to be concerns being expressed in some quarters about the authenticity of the lead vocals, notwithstanding the opinion of those who worked with Michael, and two independent forensic analysts, ultimately, Michael’s fans will be the judges of these songs, as they always are. We take all fan comments very seriously, and as I’d stated above, there is nothing more important to the Estate than Michael’s music, his legacy and his fans.

Michael’s fans are extraordinary in their quest for accuracy and their passions to raise their voices in a search for truth! We join with them in our care and concern for Michael. We are continuing to follow up with those who have worked in the studio or on tours with Michael, and if any new information comes to light, we will keep you and the fans advised.

Thank you, we appreciate it.

Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

The first day i was also not sure that it was MJ on breaking news , but after more details about the track i know in my heart that it is MJ ! :) When i first heard "You Rock My World" i had a little bit the same feeling , it was another sound then MJ in the 90 or 80's... Also his voice was little bit changed...

Sony is NOT stupid to use a stand in for michael ! They have more then 100 unreleased tracks.... ;)

How can they be unaware because it's been all over the news already Michael is not singing there? And you really think something like this would be hidden? The audience hear right away it's not Michael.

Why don't some of you peeps just realize that what you miss hearing on "Breaking News" is Michael Jackson's strong background vocals.

Well, in the words of Paris Jackson:
"I miss everything about Michael Jackson." :agree:

THE MUSICAL LEGACY OF MICHAEL JACKSON WILL CONTINUE!!!!

From the moment the Estate has included the names of certain people they didn't do it without permission. Vote in the poll whether you think it's Michael on the song or not and calm down.
The album will be bought by the people who want to buy it! Nobody forces anybody to buy it!

Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

Another question, Why would Sony go through all this trouble if it wasn't Michael? I mean people are saying that every single person who worked with Michael is lying and Forensic Musicologists are being bribed? I mean REALLY? Would Sony ACTUALLY do this? Logic would dictate that the answer is no...and that it is in fact Michael..Like I said...all this is extremely confusing...but..it's extremely hard to start ignoring what Scientific things are saying..

It was just a thought. Seeing as most of the news sources I've read are quick to include Sony's reassurance of the songs' authenticity. I would assume the general public will just rely on that statement and believe that a big corporation like Sony wouldn't try something so incredibly...stupid.

I still feel the best thing would be to remove these Cascio tracks....I'll always feel that way, if they don't I'll still get it..but to have "Questionable" songs on the album is NOT good. Whether they are Michael's vocals or not, they need to go IMO...Because it's so conflicting to everyone.

THANK YOU! call me paranoid, but I think a lot of ppl would appreciate getting statements from the original sources. I know Riley gave his, and Jason too as far as I know.

I believe Michael wrote it, and is singing in it. But it doesnt sound like him b/c Porte's voice overshadows Mike's. Then, dont try to sell it as a Michael Jackson song. It's J.Porte featuring MJ.

I think some of the singing on Breaking News is Michael - and some isn't...the song has a background echo that isn't Michael - I can hear him in the vocals, the way it flows reminds me of his style..

There is a section near the beginning music that reminds me of one of Britney Spears singles....did one of her producers work on this track?

Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

This is what I call an attempt at damage control. Sony knew we would not be listening to anything they had to say with kind or favorable ears after having created this mess by intentionally streaming that song knowing it was not clearly Michael. Remember, the first "teaser" they didn't even play a portion of the lyrics! Why because they knew we would know.

Hip, hip, hooray to the estate by trying to come in and fix the damage that Sony has done but it is not so easily forgotten that they failed to mention there was someone else singing on the track and amidst the chaos if they were really on the up and up they would have come out and claimed it days ago. Sony wanted us to accept it and back down but we can't back down. Who will fight for Michael if we don"t?

How easy is it to get a team of people in a room and convince them that Michael is singing when you are the one who is paying them and you they may call you in on future projects if you give them the report they want???

Only Michael's fans are the ones we know are with out hidden agendas. Our agenda is our love for Michael Jackson and his music!

I honestly don't know for certain where Michael is singing on the track because long before the chorus was sung I wanted to turn it off. If I can make out Michael's voice in a choir then why would I have such difficulty in this song? Many fans said it many fans felt it--- RATHER ---we couldn't feel Michael's voice in the song. I started to be neutral and say maybe it the production work and they altered and compressed his voice to the point where there was uncertainty but at this point we do not know what the heck they did with that CD.

How much is this impersonator singing on the CD? How much of Michael's voice has been removed? What percent of Michael was clear enough to make an audio quality enough to use on the CD ( if it is quality enough).

Sorry Sony, that statement did not save you. Michael's fans want to CLEARLY hear Michael's voice. Furthermore we would not doubt for a second that you would try to give this impersonator guy vocal royalties then take them back for management and production costs.

If Sony gets away with this now who would stop them in the future? They would butcher all of Michael's songs with fake wanna be singers trying to sound like him or anyone else they think they can throw on there and steal money due Michael's children. There is NO WAY that we are going to let that happen.

1. Michael's fans have NOT changed there opinion, rather many suspicions have been verified. Sony needs to either get this guy off the CD and give us Michael's voice where we can truly hear and FEEL it's him or they need to scrap that single and any others like that mess.

2. We want Michael and we'll take no substitutions! Furthermore a group of representative fans will go in and hear the tracks they are planning to release BEFORE they release and hurt us again! This is our ultimatum to Sony or we'll boycott anything connected with your name!!!!!!!!!!

4 Days left till we launch SonyUltimatum.com

Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

The engineers and musicologists were able to hear what we haven't heard. The engineers were able to hear the raw acapellas, which I would assume didnt have any additional copy and pasted vocals from other songs (which is obvious) or possible additional effects added to his voice.

The question is, is the vocal track used on the final version the same as the one that was played for all of these other people?

If it isnt, the proper vocal should be used without all of the fluff, or any songs with questionable lead vocals should be replaced. Its just crazy to me that they would use ANY lead vocal thats questionable in any way.

We'll see what comes from this.

They all confirmed that the vocal was definitely Michael.
------------------------

I think:

They are 30% Mike's vocals on the a capella tracks but somewhere in between they bought in another singer because Mike's demo vocals were not to the fullest (you know how he does demo's). They had to fill it out with a fake singer. Then when Teddy got those tracks they were Vox. Someone intercepted.

That's why some lines sound like MJ and go into the other singers voice (this is why people think it's MJ). When you here those snippets without the computer voice over top; you will hear the switch between MJ's voice and the fake. They also pieced in various ad-libs/phrases from past MJ songs..to make it even harder to decipher.

Can someone play the final mixed songs and ask Bruce Swedien if this is what Michael sounds liked on the a cappella. Music or no music backing will not make vocals sound any different.

Read between the lines and put stuff together.

The producers heard the tracks in raw MJ vocals before the Cascio's mixed in the fake singer,MJ adlibs,& phrases. cause I'm sure if those 6 had heard the final product they would not agree those are fully MJ's vocals.

LOL A. Sizzle! I just wrote the same but mine too long! But I'm glad to see someone else thinks what I think. But remember they might not have the raw MJ vocals cause they were destroyed to save room on the hard drive?(read that some place) I wonder why? hmmm.:mello:

Regardless of what I think about Sony, it really seems unbelivable to release a single which has no Michael in it, all over the net and on official MJ channel.
Like CherubinII said, maybe all this confusion is because the song does not have background from Michael. :(
I am really shocked by ppl who are trying to convince others not to buy the album.wtf
Why can"t you just wait and see ??!!
Are you telling me that you would not buy an album where Michael sings duets ?
Because it is not 100% Michael ?!
The bottom line is....be patient.

They are all lying. I will never believe. Never.

In advance, I have to say I'm sorry for taking things off topic a bit; but with comments like this it's not so mind boggling that some people believed MJ was guilty back in 2005.

For the record: I don't believe it's MJ either but I'm still open for debates. The proof is just not strong enough as of right now.

I do not hear much MJ in this song. There is too much of another person in it. I am sticking by my original decision. I am not buying the album if the Cascio tracks are on it, but only downloading the songs that are feel are Michael's. There is too much controversy. Why did they have so many people look at these Cascio tracks if they did not think something was off to begin with? There is some Michael in BN, but not enough. They took too long to make a statement, which is also odd to me. The reactions to the song happened early Monday Morning. Why wait till Thursday to make a statement, when you had all the evidence from the experts in your office?

We are being patient, Sony has 4 more days before we launch SonyUltimatum.com.

If there aren't complete songs avaible where you can clearly hear Michael then they can make their attempts at adding someone else in but we want every ounce of Michael's pure voice we can get before they do so.

It is not that we don't want people to not buy the album, unfortunately that is the way to get Sony's attention and respect Michael, his music and his fans.

We want Michael and we'll take no substitutions.

Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

SHAME on Howard Weitzman for trying to confuse the fans with his drivel
Even if the vocals are to a greater extent Mike's, they have been assembled and edited in a crude, crass, insensitve and cack-handed manner.
Then Teddy Riley, John McLain and god alone knows who else attempted to form a song around these naked vocals.
Teddy Riley's efforts that we hear today had nothing whatsoever to do with Michael's composition - it's the best that Teddy could imagine Mike might have liked, but obviously could never have Mike's stamp of approval.
Given the awful quality of the recording, editing and assembly of the bare vocal track, why would Sony and the estate choose such a controversial song for the album?
Have they all suddenly become cloth-eared? I doubt it.
They are all well aware of Michael's dogged pursuit of excellence - to release something so obviously sub par needs some explanation
In short, it stinks

Re: Official Message From The Estate Of Michael Jackson To The Fans

Over my years on this board and other MJ boards, I have RARELY agreed with many of my fellow MJ fans' constant fear-mongering and conspiracy theories about the family, Sony, managers, etc. In the eyes of many fans, everyone is always out to "get MJ and many times I just can't agree with that.

But I'm sorry, the estate is full of it and Sony can go screw themselves.

I'm going to support Michael by NOT buying this heap of garbage. Instead, I'll purchase and download the authentic MJ tracks themselves online.

It's crazy so many people are actually falling for this. I'm feeling sick to my stomach and I want to puke.
