Seems there's no news thread today so let me get one up here ;)
Well, it seems breaking news is that there is movement at Neverland - what it means nobody knows yet but there is no short supply of spectulation - for more please go here http://www.mjjcommunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48378

Ok, there is amazingly not much else positive going on - in the tabloid section you'll find the latest issues with the Jackson Family sibilings being broke

Tom Meighan dishes out 4,000 pounds for Jackson puppet

London, Mar 24 : Rocker Tom Meighan has dished out 4,000 pounds for a Michael Jackson puppet.
The Kasabian frontman bought Jackson's puppet from Eighties' show 'Spitting Image' at an auction on eBay.

"Tom has had his eye on Spitting Image memorabilia for a while, The Sun quoted a source as saying.

"He was scouring the internet to see what he could get his hands on. The Jackson puppet came up on eBay and he made his move.

"The Kasabian tour manager did all the negotiating for Tom so he wouldn't get too carried away with the bidding," the source added.

Today inMichael Jackson History

2004 - Superior Court Judge Clifford R. Anderson III issued an order that barred news crews from photographing or speaking to prospective grand jurors and members of its final panel in the child molestation case against Michael Jackson.
2005 - The broadway musical "All Shook Up" opened.

Michael Jackson Quote

People always told me be careful of what you do
don't go around breaking young girls' hearts
mother always told me be careful of who you love
be careful of what you do 'cause the lie becomes the truth

Asked about the differences between the two brothers, senior captain Taj Finger couldn't help but reveal, to the entire world, that, "Robin also loves to sing off the court.''
Added shooting guard Anthony Goods: "Robin loves to sing. Brook loves to tell Robin to shut up.''
And is the singing good?
"It's an acquired taste,'' Goods said, laughing. "Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson. Just, you know, just depends on what he feels like at that time.''

Beatles Career Threatened By Bootleg

Well, it has, in the form of what sounds like a major lawsuit. No, this is not Michael Jackson selling “All You Need is Love” to a disposable diaper commercial. This is Apple Corps suing the **** out of Fuego Entertainment - some Miami record company - who claims they own, and will publish, 15 never before heard bootlegged tracks from said Beatles club appearance.

on the Steve Harvey Morning show today they mentioned that Dileo stated that he did not make those statements in the NY Post article on the Jacksons... they said... "the quotes were made up".. Steve said.. "I never believed that story.. because I spoke to Marlon awhile back .. I talked to him from his studio/his home..and he was talking about projects he is involved with..so I know that story was not true.. and I hate things like this.. because the guy who lied in that article can just go on with his life and you the celeb can not do anything... I think their should be a rule that a celebrity can ***** slap anyone that writes lies about them like that..."

There definately needs to be something to restrain these people. Freedom of speech is one thing. Slander is quite another.

God, see how the media can twist things? Makes you sick. There should be a law, like slander or something.
There is. It is just too cumbersome. I think the system England has in place for this is good although you certainly see plently of ish coming from there as well.

There isn't a new news thread yet so while we are waiting for some new word on what is happening at Neverland or with MIchael, I though this would make good reading:

Do you want to see more of Michael Jackson on Television?

When I was young Michael Jackson and Madonna were the two music artists I loved, today things are much more diverse as I love nearly all types of music, but you always love the music listened to as a child. Michael Jackson is trying to make a come back over the next year and I personally would love to see more of him on television.
Do you want to see more of Michael Jackson on Television?
With all the bad news about Michael Jackson, I can understand why some people would not want to see him on TV and may say his career is over…what’s your view.

YES ! Definitely YES ! His problems often lead people to forget what he accomplished as an artist and I think he should at least get some recognition for his work & talent, no matter what people think of him as a human being.
A lot of famous people had problems with justice and were accused of violence, rape and even murder. Some were convicted and none of them has been trashed as Michael Jackson is. And he was found not guilty…
(PS: Sorry for my english, it’s not my mother tongue !)

Honestly, there is no other entertainer that can perform as a soloist song and dance man like him. TRULY NO ONE IN HISTORY! He is a living legend and although he is much older now he still dances within each beat of the music like no one else we have at the moment… all the young ones (JT, Omarion, Beyonce, Chris Brown, NeYo, Ciara, etc.) aspire to be what he is: the ultimate entertainer and the most successful artist in recording history.
He does NOT need to “prove himself” with a comeback now. He has dedicated his life to being an entertainer and deserves our respect. He has already reigned and remains UNBEATEN… BUT anything musical he does now would just be great to witness. we are all lucky to have witnessed a man who is truly a gifted artist and a genius at performing live on stage.
Anyone who has seen him peform or listen to his lyrics will agree. I admire that he is still here and can see the effect he has had on the younger generation of artists while others that reached similar heights killed themselves with drugs, alcohol, obesity etc. he is still here and dedicated to his music. LET HIM ENTERTAIN YOU AND HE WILL!

    March 25th, 2008 | 10:47 amterri
Yes come back and just do what you best. Sing with soul, dance with passion, write lyrics from your heart and produce amazing short films!.. maybe even produce a fantasy movie…
    what a gifted genius!

    To be very honest…
Even if you don’t like the man.
Even if you feel that he is a lousy human being.
You CANNOT, absolutely CANNOT deny his amazing God given talent.
He has MORE talent in his PINKIE that the WHOLE of the music business has right now.
And I’m not just saying this because I’m a fan. Do your reading. Check out the HEIGHTS his career went to…they were unprecedented.
As a music artist I feel he is very much UNDER APPRECIATED.
His music was amazing with many complex layers working together in concert to produce a beautiful sound. Just listen to the complexity of Billie Jean…all those layers. His song was one of the first to do that…way back in the 80’s and they’re STILL doing it now.
His dancing was fluid, smooth and precise…he SANG his music with his body.
Just watch how all will mourn him when he his gone, even the ones who bad-mouthed him the most.
There will NEVER EVER be anyone of his talent and star magnitude again…and even if there is, he/she won’t be able to go where MJ went before.
You don’t have to love the man, heck you don’t even have to like him…just don’t ignore his music.

True that, true that.

> sorry but I do not get that part as to why anyone would think this about Michael. Michael has not done anything to be thought of like this. Maybe people who think this about him needs to examine their own lives and themselves as human beings. but I get this over view that this person thinks Michael is talented. But Michael is also a wonderful caring person as well.

I think they probably think he is a wonderful caring person as well and are just trying to get those who don't think that to consider his music. They said they are a fan.

:lol::lol:

I think that would be a brilliant idea for a new reality show............however, I would be happy to do the slapping myself, actually. No need for Michael to take time out of his busy shedule. I`d be VERY happy to do it on his behalf-_-

On a more serious note:
I realy do think its time for journalists and publishers to actually be asked to defend their statements and opinions. Every other profession has to be prepared to defend their work, often against the medias attack- so who is guarding the media?

In my opinion, NOBODY is guarding the media.

There are just too many media outlets in today's market. You got the gossip columns being quoted in what is supposed to be the legitimate news. They are all in competition with each other and in their quest to be the FIRST, they don't have time to "vet" any stories.

We have all of these CABLENEWS stations, and they appear to have NO rules at all. They basically say whatever they want to say, with no sort of consequence.

I, personally, am suspect of ALL news and I don't care what the subject might be. LOL! But that's just me.

FORMER MIJAC MANAGER IN NY POST STORY BY MISTAKE: Frank DiLeo wrongly-quoted in article about Jackson family's financial issues.
(March 25, 2008

*A scathing story about the Jackson family in Sunday's New York Post claims most of the famous brothers are financially strapped and waiting on the next handout from Janet, but EUR has learned that a source quoted in the article claims to have never spoken with either of the two Post writers.

"In a series of interviews with three of the nine Jackson children, two relatives and a current and former employee - over the last three years and as recently as last week - The Post learned in stunning detail just how down and out the Jacksons are," wrote The Post's Stacy Brown and James Fanelli.

They go on to claim that Marlon, 51, is currently stocking shelves at a Vons supermarket in San Diego, and "had to temporarily move into an extended-stay hotel." Randy, 46, reportedly "does odd jobs, including fixing cars in a Los Angeles garage owned by a family friend. He recently claimed Michael was going to give him $1.7 million – 'a pipe dream,' said another brother last week."

Brown and Fanelli say that Jackie, 56, "is struggling to manage his son Siggy's aspiring rap career after an Internet clothing business startup and attempts to produce music failed." They claim that Jermaine, 54, "shuttles back and forth from his girlfriend's home in Ventura County, Calif., to his parents' mansion in Encino, where Jackie and Randy still bunk."

"Tito, 55, is the only brother still making music, but it's a meager living," the article claims. "The guitarist fronts a blues and jazz band that plays small venues and nets him $500 and $1,500 per occasional gig - a far cry from the days when the Jacksons could pull in 50,000 people at $30 a ticket."

As for Papa Joe, the 79-year-old, according to the article, "spends most of his waking hours conjuring up schemes he hopes will replenish a bank account that once had more money than the FDIC cared to insure."

EUR's Lee Bailey has spoken with Michael Jackson's former manager Frank DiLeo, who was quoted during a portion of the article about the possibility of a Jackson reunion tour to generate funds.

DiLeo was quoted as saying: "Michael was not going to work with the family again. He was concerned only about building his legacy. He had to be bigger than Elvis."

But DiLeo tells us he never made that statement. Furthermore, he contacted the article's co-writer, Stacy Brown, to complain. According to DiLeo, Brown said the quote was meant to be attributed to Bob Jones, MiJac's former director of communications and the author of "Michael Jackson: The Man Behind the Mask."

DiLeo told EUR: "Stacy Brown called because he wanted me to speak at the University of - somewhere up there [in NY] - and I told him I lived in Nashville and I wasn't able to do it, and that was the end of it. He said, 'How are things going,' I said, 'Fine.' We talked about our business in Nashville."

Next thing DiLeo knows, he's being quoted in the New York Post regarding Michael Jackson.

"And I don’t know what [Brown] got into with Bob Jones or whatever, but I'm not a part of that whole crew," he said. "I never make statements and I don't make any comments. Why they put my name in that and where they got it from – it could've been something from 30 years ago, for all I know."

http://www.eurweb.com/story/eur42009.cfm

I had seen that. I would call it a pretty unsatisfactory retraction. Maybe not from Dileo's standpoint but it didn't do much for the Jacksons. It only gave the tabloid an opportunity to republish the article.
