Madonna thanked her ex-manager Freddy DeMann who launched her to fame. As you know Freddy DeMann along with Ron Weisner was Michael Jackson & The Jacksons manager from 1976-83. Michael decided not to renew his contracts with them shortly after the release of the Beat It single in 1983.
Anyway Madonna insinuates in her speech that Freddy DeMann left Michael Jackson to become "Her" manager after meeting her (still an unknown in 1983). We know this is a lie and she knows that's a lie, as he was no longer Michael Jackson's manager when her met her. Madonna is very still obviously a very arrogant woman, and knows she not a genius like Michael or as iconic as Michael. She just likes to pretend she !

So, off I went to LA to find the man who managed Michael Jackson ... to make him my manager. Cut to Freddy Demann, another man I want to thank. The ultimate, mack daddy manager, slick back hair, tan ..."
