Dear Members,

To mark June 25th 2012 the three year anniversary of the passing of Michael Jackson, MJJCommunity will be closing all forums bar our dedicated remembrance forum for a period of 24 hours,

We did this on year one and I for one as do my team feel this is the only and right way to honour this sad day.

Once the 24 hour period is over we will re open all forums and leave the remembrance forum for a set period of two weeks before that will then be archived in our history section.

I am also contemplating shutting MJJC completely at the time Michael passed away for a minutes silence, although this is undecided due to possible orchestrating issues at this given time.

We thank you for your understanding and feel you will agree this is the only befitting way we his fans and the MJFam can and should honour Michael's memory.

From my understanding: The Remembrance forum bar will be open for the 24 hour period while the other forms bars are closed. MJJC might be closed as a whole for the time/minutes for a moment of silence (from when we learned about Michael's passing)

I was going to suggest keeping all of Michaal section open like last year so we could stay a breast of fans events that day and discuss other things. but I noticed you have a section for all that in the Memorium Forum. I think it's a nice way to honor Michael.

Oh dear 3rd year now without our Michael it doesn't get any easier, yes I know what I will be doing, crying :cry: :weeping:
 
I wish the other forums would stay open, but whatever...I'm probably just going to spend my time on youtube watching concerts/videos. Things like the Remembrance section just make me too sad. :(
 
I agree. I wont be able to stayin there long and dwell on it. Im already having crying bouts. Its going to be hard enough . Ill need a distraction that day.
 
There will be other forums open on the day . We need to be together and support each other. I know I will be around fans on the day.
 
I agree it will be all about sadness in there that day and that's something I want to avoid. So I'm not able to stay very long in there either.
About the shutting down, that will be during the night for me so I won't notice it if you do so. For that reason I won't vote on the poll

@CarleyMJ MJJC is open but only the memorial section will be displayed so there is still room for being together and support.
 
Guys, I always like to listen and take feedback from the community before finally making a decision, therefore I have now added a poll to this thread to get your thoughts on the closures of forums.

Please vote asap so I can put the final plan in place.

Voted, Do believe that everything else can close but the MJ forums. Either way as long as we're together.

Having the memorial section open is a nice gesture though
 
Gaz, I support the decision by you and the team of closing down the forums as you described. Also to close down the forum completely at the time of Michael's transition honors Michael with integrity and respect. The pain is still very deep and perhaps even deeper after 3 years. After all the work and research, I understand even more what we lost on that terrible day. I know Michael is with each and everyone of us. He knows how much we love him and miss him. It is even more important today that we continue to protect and honor Michael's legacy and that we do it with L.O.V.E. I am sending you all a major LOVE.
 
Just for June 25th? I have no problem for MJJCommunity to be shut down for the day. That way I can focus on my MJ Marathon I wanted to like I did for last couple of years. I'll start from Noon until 3:00 am for the Marathon.
 
Closing down the whole forum but one thread would be the best option in my opinion, if it's even possible to only have one thread open. And maybe close even that one thread for the time from when the medics were called until Michael was declared gone... Hmm, does anyone else feel extremely uncomfortable at the mere thought of it?

To be honest, I'm against it. It would just make the day worse - I don't know how other people can deal with this event, but for example, I like to "escape" in the picture threads, watching countless pics of Michael. I did this on the 1st anniversary and it made me feel good, because it helped me realizing that at least we HAD him and he's still alive in the memories of everyone.

I don't know how to describe it best, but if just the memorial section stays open, this tragic event would be too imminent for me, too "in your face". The other sections (beside the trial & controversy section) are full of happy memories of Michael, they're bringing light into the dark.
If we would close those sections for that day, the day would become darker, at least for me.

I voted yes, not because I'm against having everything open as usual.
I just think opening only the rememberance forum is kind of appropriate for the very day, if not a few days before nor after.
 
I voted yes. I am cutting of online and phones for the day and just spend time @ home with Mike...(DVD's, books, magazines...) it makes it a little bit better for me to do that instead of watching YT vids. or coming to the MJJC since i'll again be emotional... it has taken a toll on me the past few days just realizing that it'll be 3 years this Monday since we lost Michael , and only want to believe that he has found peace...

I voted yes,but I would like to have access to the Majorloveprayer thread too.
I think Majorloveprayer is very important for many of us and especially june 25
 
I would say close all the forums/site except the one in Remembrance so that fans can gather, share and get support if needed.
 
Everything closed but the remembrance forum, like a lot of people already said.
Would be very fitting and respectfull.

But whatever you'll decide to do, I wish everybody the best for tomorow.
