2009 - Dancers from all over the world fly into Los Angeles to audition for Michael's 'This Is It' concerts.
APRIL 9
1974 - The Jackson Family play 1st of 15 nights at MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, NV
1984 - Through the 'Brass Ring Society', an organization which fulfills the wishes of terminally ill children, David Smithee, a 14-year old sufferer from cystic fibrosis, is invited to visit Michael at the Encino family home. David's last wish was to meet Michael. During the afternoon visit, David watches a movie with Michael in his home theater, plays video games and is shown by Michael how to moonwalk. Of the video games, David later says:, "I played two games with him and beat him both times." Michael gave David the red leather jacket he had worn in the "Beat It" video and the beaded black glove he had worn to the American Music Awards, where he collected eight awards. David passed away seven weeks later. Michael remembers David in the linear notes of the Jacksons Victory Album, that reads in part, “Finally, best wishes and love to Teddy Pendergrass and our friend, little David Smithy [sic].”
1988 - Michael performs the 2nd out of 3 BAD tour concerts at the Summit in Houston,Texas, USA
APRIL 10
1974 - The Jackson appear on the Sandy in Disneyland TV special and perform "I want You Back"
1988 - Michael performs the 3rd out of 3 BAD tour concerts at the Summit in Houston,Texas, USA
1995 - Michael & Lisa Marie visit Tower Records in Sherman Oaks, CA
1999 - Michael attends an English league football match at Fulham's Craven Cottage, with his friend Mohammed Al Fayed. He then makes a surprise visit to Liberty Radio in London, a station owned by Fayed. Michael gave an impromptu interview and spoke of attending the football match earlier. Although he did not attend the ceremony, he also congratulated close friend Elizabeth Taylor for her Bafta Fellowship Award presented on Sunday night. "I am very thrilled. She deserves it. She's the Queen." In a message to his British fans he said: "I love you! Thank you for your support and your loyalty and everything you have done for me. Without you there would be no me and I thank you very much." Liberty Radio producer Jonathan Sanchez said: "His visit was a complete surprise. He just walked in the door with Mohammed Al Fayed. It was lovely. He was really pleasant."
