HISTORICAL DATES


April 15

1979 - The Jacksons perform the 2nd of 2 Destiny Tour concerts in Cleveland Ohio.

1988 - Michael Jackson performs the 3rd and last of 3 BAD tour concerts at the Omni in Atlanta Georgia. Michael ensured that free tickets to the three concerts, were specifically set aside for the Make a Wish Foundation.

1989 - Michael Jackson's 'Moonwalker' Movie is broadcast on the cable channel, Showtime.

1993 - Eddie Murphy's video - 'Whatzupwitu' a collaboration with Michael is premiered by Fox and BET Networks in the USA. The song released on Eddie's "Love's Alright" Album featured vocals by Michael Jackson, who also appears in the video.

2009 - Auditions took place in April at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood to select the dancers for Michael's upcoming concerts. Michael attends the final call back on the 15th along with his choreographer Travis Payne and creative director Kenny Ortega. They select 6 men and 2 women on a 2-year contract to perform “national” and “international” venues on the “This Is It” tour.

Love that photo and the Moonwalker movie. I think the Eddie video needed a bit more complexity, although I liked the singing. Maybe he had a small budget.

^^Gee it just dawned on me that out of all the numbers of people who auditioned only 6 men & 2 women were chosen. It is really an honor when you are chosen from such a huge pool.
