As we know both albums are certified 29x Platinum in the US, but something just looks fishy to me about that claim for the Eagles when I look at both albums chart history. Here is why:
In the Soundscan era, from 1991 to 2013, Thriller sold 6,266,491 copies. The Eagles album sold 5,598,732 copies.

By 1990 Thriller was certified 21x Platinum, the Eagles album was certified 12x Platinum.

It just doesn't add up how did Eagles make up that 9 million copies difference when according to Soundscan they sold less albums during the Soundscan era?
