Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

I really wonder that a site like this and its YouTube channel could exist since over 5 years now.
It semes that the estate and the Jackson Family (or friends of Michael who are preseted there as Michaels lovers and liears like Mac C. or Bread B.) did nothing seriously against it. It semed that they don't care about this in the last years
(I think with copyright strikes or other activities it whould have been easy to delate the videos).
Now this mistake takes its revange in 2019 in the time of LN.
But its not the only channel who did such videos in the last years or is active in this now. There are other channels, videos, (and sites) linked on the channelpage from MJfacts.

Free speech is allowed in the media and on internet platforms (unless you live somewhere with a restrictive government).

People are voicing their opinions. You can't legislate for personal hate or stupidity, especially since MJ is no longer with us ( ie no offence of personal defamation is possible).

Leaving Neverland" Feels More Like an Opportunistic Hit-Piece Rather Than a Documentary [Review]

(NB Explicit content regarding the film)

https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2019/2/leaving-neverland

I can “review” HBO’s upcoming “Leaving Neverland” or just give an opinionated schema of Michael Jackson and his history of sexual abuse allegations towards underaged teenage boys. I’ll try to do both.

“Leaving Neverland” comes to us in rather problematic and outlandish circumstances. The fact that Michael Jackson, the antagonist of this documentary, has been dead for the better part of 10 years can seem unfair in that he has no way to defend himself. Secondly, and maybe less covered by the media, is the fact that one of the two accusers in the documentary, Wade Robson, a former choreographer whose allegations of abuse are at the center of this controversial new doc, has a shady past. Now, this shouldn’t be of any concern, especially with his alleging that he was sexually abused by Jackson, but Robson has a history of, err, shall we say, a desperate past. We’ll get back to that later.

For the better part of two decades I have intensely folllowed the Michael Jackson saga. My mind has changed a few times, from he’s innocent to he’s guilty to I just don’t know anymore, but it’s rather hard for me to take director Dan Reed’s “Leaving Neverland” at face value, let alone review it, because the two victims being interviewed here, Robson and James Safechuck, have had so many revised accounts of what happened; lies have been uttered by them, maybe purposely or maybe accidentally. Despite all that, memory is a funny thing, where even the most hardened of experiences can have crucial details feeling rather hazy decades later, let alone if you were a child when it happened.

Leaving Neverland is a talking-heads movie—there is no narration from Reed. It’s all about the sexually explicit story recounted by these two boys, Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck, who became friends with Jackson, a friendship which they claim eventually went beyond that, as lovers, masturbation buddies, fellators.

The film had its premiere at Sundance last month, where it screened to shocked reactions And yet, despite its 240 minute running time, you do feel as if Reed is force-feeding us something he quickly assembled together in the editing room just for the sake of making the cut for the festival, where the film, unsurprisingly, created the kind of buzz that makes its March 3rd premiere on HBO now a must-see event.

The details in this film are gruesome and unabashedly raw.

Reed, with the assistance of Robson and Safechuck, paints Jackson as a serial predator. Robson says the pop star had a fetish for telling him to bend over and spread his butt cheeks while Jackson masturbated to the sight. There’s also Jackson’s insistence to have the boys suck and pull on his nipples while he offed himself. All this happening as Jackson created an elaborate system of “alarm bells” installed at the Neverland Ranch to alert him of any potential passer-byers that might walk in on him committing the sexual misdeeds.

The film is meant to shock. It has a no-holds barred account that will most likely have the most timid of minds running for the exits— no wonder paramedics were in attendance at the Sundance premiere in case what unfolded on the screen was too much to take. Yet nobody fainted, not even when when the topic of penetration with a 7-year-old boy came up in the film, a problem, which Robson claims, Jackson learned to live with until the boys grew older. Even more explicit is Robson recalling his first orgasm, when he was at such a young age that no ejaculation could occur.

What cannot be denied is that Robson had testified at Jackson’s 2005 trial (as an adult) that nothing sexual ever happened between them. Of course, victims of sexual abuse can deny it ever happening for fear of embarrassment or guilt, a common occurence when it comes to sexual abuse victimes, but Robson wasn’t forced to be a witness for the defense, he decided to do so on his own free will. He was cross-examined by sly legislators, and so, the fact that he now recants what he said in that public court back in 2005 could be deemed a potential case of perjury for lying under oath.

The problem with “Leaving Neverland” is, as mentioned, that two proven liars are the sources here, which makes the doc feel like a hit piece rather than any kind of artistic statement.

The allegations against Michael Jackson have already been scrutinized to no end. Remember the media frenzy that Martin Bashir’s 20/20 interview with a victim caused in the mid-’90s? It happened again the following decade, which resulted in Jackson’s home being raided by FBI officers, in two unannounced raids, but nothing incriminating being found. Jackson was acquitted of all charges in 2005 by a California jury. The FBI, likewise, “conducted a thorough investigation. Its 300-page file on the pop star, released under the Freedom of Information Act, found no evidence of wrongdoing.”

Michael Jackson was, and still is, a well-loved musician, who was also a terrible judge of character, and a naive fool. He spent the better part of his large extravagant life trusting some of the shadiest characters imaginable. He made extremely bad choices because he had lost touch with the way of life of the normal people and had no idea that his friendships with young people (by the way, it wasn’t only boys, there were lots of girls too, but none of their parents ever sued or blackmailed him) may be seen as sinister. I believe that he really didn’t get it.

It’s rather hard for me to sit here and type this considering my assumptions could very well turn out to be wrong, but in this case it’s not just the subjects who should be scrutinized, but the filmmaking itself, which is blandly told. I can count on more than two hands the amount of aerial shots Reed uses of Los Angeles, ditto the usage of archival material rather than the artistic, and the over-the-top 240 minute running time which could have easily been trimmed down to two hours. Of note:

****Amidst the firestorm this doc is creating, the media refuses to acknowledge Robson and Safechuck’s shady background. After being denied a job by the Jackson estate to be head director of the singer’s Cirque du Soleil show, Robson apparently had a nervous breakdown, triggered, he once said, by an “obsessive quest for success.” His career, in his own words, began to “crumble.” In major debt he started shopping a book in 2013 that claimed he was sexually abused by Jackson, but no publisher picked it up. Safechuck entering this story only happened after Robson persuaded him to file a $1.5 billion dollar civil lawsuit/creditor’s claim, with Safechuck claiming he only realized he may have been abused when Robson filed his lawsuit. That lawsuit was dismissed by a probate court in 2017.

But, of course, none of that is in the movie. They aren’t even questioned about it.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Hadn't heard of this site before but that was a good piece, someone who clearly knows what he's talking about. We can only wish the more well known media sources would report it like this, sigh.

Did find it a bit odd how this person believed he was innocent, then guilty and then to "I just don't know anymore" what is there to just not know anymore? If this person has done all the research that is available to us all I don't think you can really doubt it anymore. There's just a overwhelming amount of material in my opinion where you can pretty much conclude that MJ wasn't that kind of person.

Oh and those details are disgusting as hell. These guys are sick in the head for coming up with those kind of detailed lies, it truly says a lot about them. I truly, truly hope they burn in hell for this, Jesus man. It's no wonder that some people that don't know the slightest about MJ would believe this and feel totally disgusted to their stomach about that. All that stuff about buttcheeks....js that also from the Victor book?

Again, there really should be a law that forbids you to make a "documentary" about a dead person that can't defend himself and have it about baseless allegations, zero evidence to back it up. It really should be a offense and be punishable.

The problem with this is that the details during the trial were probably equally as disgusting and it was all lies, all lies, and that is all the public cared about and is aware of. The not guilty verdict. But now for the first time the details are out in the open and seemingly had these Sundance attendees feeling disgusted and falling for it. So we know that some people just left the showing early, but there's no way to know if that was because the shit is trash in their opinion or because they couldn't handle it.

I am hearing its alleged in the movie that MJ would have plenty of kids playing in his bedroom, and then take one and sometimes two kids into "the secret room" and do sexual stuff to them, and then just walk out with them and continue playing like nothing happened.....

The graphic content and details for hours, you know. Its really out of this world. I am suprised they allow it to air on TV, for kids to watch etc.

Personally I think they have took it too far! I mean, obviously they are playing the victims and painting MJ as SATAN. And figure they can get away with it as people view MJ as very odd, weird looking dude already on top of the earlier child abuse allegations.

Its like the ultimate nightmare, beyond anything you could ever phantom happening :-(

This just shows that these pieces of trash are depending on the gullibility and stupidity of weak minded people to believe this crap. The only “secret room” was already in the house when Michael purchased it. It was a room that a person or family could hide in when their was a security breach or other danger. Robson and Safechuck are changing their stories because it is known that other children were in Michael’s bedroom suite- a two level room with 3 bathrooms and 2 or more beds. Therefore, these liars have to come up with another lie to justify why no one saw them being “abused.” All of the things that these liars/extortionists are straight from the sick minds of NAMBLA advocates and participants. These sick allegations are what Robson, Safechuck and Reed FANTASIZE happening to them. Pretty much, all of this NAMBLA script came from Victor Guitterez book. Let’s not forget that this book had the complete cooperation and input from Evan Chandler, Guitterez and Di Demon.
How sick is it for an alleged victim’s father to portray his own son as the “lover” of his “abuser”. It was Evan Chandler who initially came up with these sick claims, not Jordan’s. Again , this is why Dan Reed, Robson and Safechuck are using the same graphic SCRIPT, in order to shock people. Both Robson and Safechuck are saying things that wouldn’t even happen in the most sordid porn movie. They have zero credibility and anyone believes any of their bull@#$&, is as sick as they are. All it takes is common sense and a person can rebuke and unravel every lie.
The sad and pathetic problem is that a lot of people WANT this crap to be true; because it “turns them on”. Sick @#%$&*%$!!

Really?? Is this something you know for a fact or just a rumor? I think that man belonged in jail actually. The assult Jordan accused him of then he tried to get a restraining order was so serious that he could have killed him. If it was true ofcourse but I think there should have been a criminal investigation about that. Also it will always make me wonder that it was less than 2 months after the trial ended he first tried to get a restrainingorder august 5 2005 but we heard about it in 2006.

I tell ya, many other people and creditable news outlets are going to do the same. See, we are only going by entertainment media, tabloids, haters, etc on what they say; however, when the overall public see, they are going to smell a rat. As for this writer views changing, he/she does not follow MJ the way we do but you can tell by the way he wrote this piece that he aint buying it no more even called MJ naïve which I agree MJ was too trusting of the wrong people.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Yep! Gotta love that little reference the estate makes to competitors of HBO, haha. Apparently the documentary division of HBO used to be proper, well that has ended here.

Maybe, but never believe for a second he's gonna back down now. This asshole is going to milk this cow as much as possible now. Both aren't dumb guys I would assume, and they know damn well wtf they are doing to Michael as a person in the general public's opinion and his legacy. They know damn well under how much scrutiny MJ was for years on end, they know damn well how it absolutely devastated MJ from inside and how it eventually got him killed basically.

Yet they press on with this. I hope karma really exists. I hope they rot in hell. Not sure if there's a hell so realistically speaking I hope they fail to have a decent career after all this.
That is why we have to keep showing the nonsense he did. Believe me, they are going to have to answer people if they start doing interview. Notice they do not do interviews with places like CNN, MSNBC, and others; only tabloids.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

The Estate should hack MJfacts and wipe them/he/she of this earth for good! Its a travesty they get like a million views on youtube spreading false information and purposely misleading the public! Whoever is behind them is disgrace to humanity and must be very sick individuals. There is no meaning in engaging with them, as their primary purpose in life is hating Michael Jackson and mocking his fans!
That is a trash website with nothing but trolls who purpose is to trash MJ. They can hate all they want, it wont stop MJ from being loved. That is a paid site to do suchn a thing.

Guys idk if youd like me to link the Dance Teacher Magazine article about wade to dissect the claims there or not but of course there are things that can be proven false. Like Michael pushing him in dance and work.. where we know it was his mother that kept pushing him onto mike and so on.

It's absolutely outrageous but I can definitely see a lot of people falling for it. Kinda like "always knew something was wrong about that guy.".

What I noticed is how they apparently in the "documentary" claim MJ had a alarm system only in his bedroom, but wasn't this whole nonsense debunked long ago, along with the "shocking secret closet/room" thing that according to tabloids contained tons of evidence?

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

All this things sounds soooooo familar with the stories MJfacts and media sides like RO try to tell people for years about MJ.
It whould be great when people could expose that the people behind MJFacts are peodos, to make them compleatly uncredible.

It sounds crazy but I get more and more often the feeling that it can be possible that Wade is perhaps also a (bisexuell) peodo besides Dan Reed (or a victim from someone else) and his stories come from real different personal experiences with victims.
He often worked with children in the past.
I saw two or three people on YouTube claiming that the sighn on wades shirt where he set in that talkshow is a peodo sign which meanes "little boy lover".
But when this is true it can be a pure concidance.
But somewhere should exist FBI documents leaked by wikileaks that show a variety of symbols that reconizinsed as being used by peadophiles and this sign is obviously in this documents.
Did someone know something about that fbi documents?

From producer Jeff Wald to CEO HBO. 14th Feb 2019

Richard,

I have thought long and hard about getting into the discussion of the so called documentary you are doing about my late friend Michael Jackson.

Since the matter of his behavior has been judged in a court of law including the SWORN testimony of Wade Robson as to Michael’s innocence it amazes me you would slander the memory of a deceased person with no ability to fight back.

This has led to the fact that his friends, family, and business associates have taken on the public discussion as to his innocence.

I realize that the new owners of the former Time Warner/ HBO under AT&T Senior Executive Vice President J.Stankey have a mandate to increase Subscriptions to HBO with total disregard as to either the legacy of HBO as a destination for quality programming or your personal legacy as CEO.

I had what has turned out be a false hope that you would have drawn a line in the sand regarding what is pure trash under the banner that has meant so much.

I guess the following considering the politics of AT&T would be to rehash the Obama birther discussion: Hilary Clinton’s pedophile ring run from a Pizzeria; or the defense of “good people on both sides” in the white nationalist protests. There is a never ending supply of product along the same lines as this piece of shit you insist on running.

I may be the up front voice on this but you should know there are dozens of people in the creative community who feel like I do as well as literally thousands of his fans who are equally disappointed and angry at HBO.

You have zero legitimate reason to air this shit.

It's truly unbelievable the lengths people go to throw more shit on MJ, even to this day when the good man has long passed away. Absolutely horrible.

Truly pathetic that Robson talks about that alarm when it's proven bullshit. He's well aware of how only tabloids keep running with that story but he also knows plenty of people will fall for that story too.

This guy truly is irredeemable. ****ing hell, it's been debunked in a real trial, all lies and nothing but lies. I am for freedom of speech, of course, but this kind of stuff should not be allowed.

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

Another interesting snippet. One of the deeply inadequate people that Reed has worked with has posted this about the 'musical score' for LN. I hadn't realised that they had had music written for this garbage. They don't bother mentioning anything that relates to 'reality' (ie the court case, other than R and S's 'storytelling'), but they paid for music to be written???!!!

Here's the specification for the music (according to Reed's buddy):

When Dan Reed ordered up a score for his documentary, he asked the composer to evoke the image of a shimmering sprite leading two boys deeper and deeper into an enchanted forest. The boys don't notice that the trees grow menacing. And suddenly the sprite turns into a monster.

Actually, I see Reed as the monster in this case. R&S were bad enough on their own, but Reed has encouraged them to make complete fools of themselves in public, all over the world. They could have quietly crept away after losing their appeal, and only fans would know. Now every tabloid paper and media channel in every country is watching them.

I don´t want to quote the post I read some pages before in which some graphic stories of the liars were described. These things are pure porn.

In my opinion this ´docu´ will address exactly those people who are interested in childporn. MJ is abused as a tool by those people who are spreading their own disgusting fantasies. They know his name garanties the most attention. And so they speculate, that their most private interests and intentions will fulfill their greed with this unsrupulous act. It´s a shame that Sundance, HBO and so on are involved in such trash, dirt, porn. And in the defamation of MJ - an undoubtedly innocent man. Just for money. How incredibly sad.

My hope is that most people as possible will use their own brain and common sense before wasting their time with watching such disgusting nonsense.

You are right. I believe Reed is either an aspiring (or failed) porn director. It's interesting that even in the 'Me too' era (with so much verbal support for victims of abuse), that Channel 4 will screen movies with an exploitative agenda. Double standards and hypocrisy.

Reed Directed a documentary called 'Escorts' about female sex workers. There is a review at the link below. The reviewer said (among other things):

''Escorts, which first premiered on the BBC’s Channel 4 as High Class Call Girls, follows Cookie Jane and Emily B., two high-end call girls who operate almost exclusively using the internet. The documentary could serve as an interesting look into how the online world has changed the sex industry or how two privately educated women came to be prostitutes. But Escorts doesn’t do that. Rather, the documentary dives into these women’s day-to-day lives, uncovering their work and personal anxieties, their sources of happiness, and their flaws. It’s a look into two people’s lives that almost feels ugly in how uncomfortably intimate it is.

Escorts crosses into exploitative territory on more than one occasion, often featuring interviews or scenes where Emily B. is topless or both women are barely clothed. This is a far departure from other documentaries about sex work, like Rashida Jones’ Hot Girls Wanted, which portrays its subjects as people first and sex workers second. Likewise, there’s a gross film over many of the interviews. Escorts’ subjects are often shot from vulnerable angles reminiscent of a porno, in bed, or — most jarringly — in the shower and bath. Moments like these discredit the point of the doc, drawing a fuzzy line between educational and sensational. And, to be frank, they just feel gross.''

Re: Sundance Festival 2019 - Controversial MJ Documentary "Leaving Neverland"

It's truly unbelievable the lengths people go to throw more shit on MJ, even to this day when the good man has long passed away. Absolutely horrible.

Truly pathetic that Robson talks about that alarm when it's proven bullshit. He's well aware of how only tabloids keep running with that story but he also knows plenty of people will fall for that story too.

This guy truly is irredeemable. ****ing hell, it's been debunked in a real trial, all lies and nothing but lies. I am for freedom of speech, of course, but this kind of stuff should not be allowed.

WR has screwed himself but he hasn't even realised it yet.Sad attention grabbing seeker.
Same with the other loser.

Anything for money.....I'd lie for,die for you....would you sell my soul to the devil?

Wade has millions of dollars debits and NEEDS the money from thousends of people who want to pay the "poor" Wade something in his victimfund from every country where this movie aires.

Wade never learned anything in his life besides dancing, coegraphing and directing short films so he MUST try to find his way back into the showbuisness where many people will watch this documantary and "hopefully" (finally) belive him.
When it will not be the people in the usa and australia who knew Wade it can be some artcompanys in other countrys where the movie aires!

The only way who he and Reed can make the people belive them is describeing many details which make sense for some people instead of showing evidence ( which is not possible to show.).

I am 100 percent sure that he presented his talent the best as possible in the documentary! It will be his worldwide job application he could do without much effort and money.
