Now, I'm aware that the original tape of the full Michael Jackson in Scramble Training video for the AS-1 for Sega being found in HD after being lost for many years is old news at this point. This was a major feat for Michael Jackson fans, lost media enthusiasts, and video game enthusiasts alike.

However... What if I told you that the introduction video that played on the outside of this game at Sega World (from where this particular screenshot comes from) is currently available on YouTube? It is not a fanmade recreation or short snippet. It is the real thing! Among many, the introduction video is still considered to be lost media. Many sources point out that although the video from the game was found, the introduction video is still lost. Well... Not anymore!

Although the quality is not pristine, this is the only upload of the introduction video I could find on YouTube. It has only a little over 600 views as of writing this post and was uploaded by a user named "Felipe Archives." Here it is! It's hard to hear Michael's voice due to crowd noise, but basically, he simply talks about the AS-1 simulator and its functionality/what it does.

If I'm right, then I may have just succeeded in finding a piece of lost Michael Jackson media! And especially given that this is the only semblance of footage/uploads I can find of this video. And hopefully, we may one day find this introduction video in high quality.

Being both a Michael Jackson fan and lost media enthusiast, this discovery was extremely exciting to me. And all it took was just a simple search on YouTube! 🤩

It's probably 1993 but the tape on the thumbnail says 1996?

Wow that's so cool! Is it from 1991 or later? I'm not sure
Scramble Training was done around 1992 to 1993. After Sega discontinued the use of the AS-1 simulator, the video footage of Michael from the game (plus other AS-1 games) was originally lost to time. It used to only be shown through shoddy VHS recordings uploaded to YouTube.

That was, until last year, when a tape from the game was bought by a British video game collector. It was then digitized and later released to the public, making the HD footage from the game available to view for the first time in years.

Sadly, the same can't be said for the introduction video that played outside the AS-1 at Sega World. But at least we now have a glimpse into it somewhat, thanks to the YouTube video!

The tape purchased by the British collector last year also said "1996" on it.

Surprisingly, Sega didn't discontinue having Michael Jackson's Scramble Training at Sega World when the allegations came about (although it may have dwindled the game's popularity somewhat, but that's just a theory). The tape of the game, along with the introduction video, was most likely distributed in 1996, but the footage itself wasn't made in 1996. Hope this helps!
