First words of Black or white

"Saturday Bang" is the actual lyrics and intention, regardless of how MJ Michaelised the phrasing

I have a copy of the hand written lyrics and its written Bang in Michaels writing

It does indeed look like it's actually written "Bang". I don't know if these handwritten lyrics are legit, but most probably?

Mike is clearly not singing "bang" however. He is clearly singing a word starting with "D". But his lyrics says "bang" - and I think a Saturday Bang might be like going to a party or a nightclub or something similar to this. I don't think Mike means a literal Saturday ****, knowing him well enough.

The "d" sounds like "date", which also could make the most sense as well

I've actually always heard it as a Saturday Bang - and that's what I've been singing for the last 20 years. - without having a single clue what a Saturday Bang is... :)

I always imagined a Saturday Bang was just a party. - Party on a Saturday seems reasonable, and a great party can be a bang, so why not go to a Saturday Bang. 😆 :ROFLMAO:

Inventing words or using words in some context is something MJ has often done just because it flows better.
I too think it is bang and used to refer to a party, if you're naughty you could see it as a Saturday sex night with a girl but that would not really fit the theme of the song :p

I always thought 'bang' too, because of the album lyrics but when I listen to the acapellla I hear something ('dang') that makes most sense as an unfinshed pronunciation of 'dance' tbh

What does 'saturday bang' even mean lol? (the pervert meaning aside)

Are we trying to know what the words are or what they mean?

Saturday Bang just sounds like Saturday Date, which sounds like what he says lol.

The fact that MJ used a scratch vocal and they kept in a "throwaway" rap by Bottrell on such a massive massive hit is fantastic. I dont think there are any other vocal takes on the multitrack. Must check the rehearsal to see if he says date or bang.

Bryan Loren hinted that this "throwaway" Bill Bottrell's rap section made the album because of behind the scenes machinations, rather than because of Michael Jackson's own preference.

Bryan Loren also believes that his version of the rap section would have been more suitable, mainly because he is a black guy and thus he can rap better than a white guy.

I truly wonder why you still do this. Just retire. What will make you go away or change.

it's surely 'saturday bang'.
'bang' = vulgar slang: to have sexual intercourse with...

topic solved. ;>
