Court starts at 1245 L.A time chernoff will be crossing shaffer instead of flanagan. maybe hes had enough? cross is expected to last 1hr 30. whether the defence will then start their case or wait till monday isnt known

I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to see this (hopefully on youtube) as I am 10 hours ahead of LA so it will be my bedtime. Going to be interesting to watch this particular cross.

so if the defense doesnt start their case until Monday, this could be a quick day in court?

Crap! Why do i have night shift tonight? And i cant access the internet at the hospital......

Yeah it could be a 2hr max court day if the defence doesnt start till mon. time will tell

I don't think the defence will start, there doesn't seem to be much point. Might as well wait til monday. Shouldn't take them long to get their case done. What do ya reckon? Deliberations by a week friday?

I think that's the max we'll have to wait. They have 15 witnesses but I dont see how they could threaten the prosecution. But who knows, maybe Walgren will have to recall a witness.

chernoff said around 3-4 days for his case. said previous he would be done for wed if he had started first thing today. then you have rebuttal.dont know how long that will be but it normally doesnt last very long.walgren mentioned re calling anderson to talk about the new tox loraz results and maybe the will will rebute the addict talk as the pros mentioned in an old motion about having an addiction specialist who will say mj was not addicted to demoral.other than the science stuff there isnt much to rebute unless you count old grannies saying what a nice dr he is!

then you have closing statements

So we have cross then I would expect re-cross and possible defence again is that right? I would expect White could have given them questions to ask.

isn't the afternoon session around 2 -3 hours? with cross , redirect, recrosss probably it would take all afternoon

court starts at 12.45 and runs till around 1600 with a 20 min break. chernoff saind he expects to cross for 1.30hr so if redirect/re cross is half an ahour which is a large estimate that leaves an hour left of the court day if my maths are right.chernoff said most of his witnesses will be quick hence getting through 15 in 3-4 days so you could easily get through one witness in the last hour. although philips who u expect to be the first witness isnt available till monday so maybe they will recess early

i just want the defence to start. it seems to have been dragging on for ages. if there had been no delays they would have been almost finished now. u get nervous about the defence case and dont want more delays. espeically when ive booked the first two weeks of nov off for jury delieberations.dont want it over running as ill will be pulling alot of sickies!

I have to see the defense case but for some reason I'm expecting a quick verdict in this case.

Is anyone else ambivalent about watching the defence's cross examination? The demeanor of all the defense lawyers is so obnoxious IMO that I get really wound up watching any of them cross examine and am inclined to avoid doing so, but Dr Shafer is so excellent that it might be good to watch him shoot them down in flames.

yes im hoping for a qucik verdict. obviously im basis but i cant see how it can be dragged out unless u have one hold out for eg.mjs case was 7 days for a verdict but that was a 4 month trial with a huge amount of evidence. with the defence case being so short.touch wood i dont see how it wont be quick. but u dont want to tempt fate. personally just thinking about that moment makes me feel sick and takes me back to june 13th

thats the most important thing to me. doesnt matter how good you do on direct if you get torn apart on cross. yes its hard seeing these bleepers talking crap but i guess its a necessary evil to see how the case is going. i get really nervous when cross starts. cause with direct you expect everything to be easy and ok

I´m not sure if I want to see it

I agree, This is where we have to put all our faith into Walgren and hope he can tear the defence witnese's up on the stand, we can't afford any element of doubt.

I am sorry I can't watch the defense. I will read the updates. This is as far as I can watch now. More than I thought I could but I wanted to know what happened to Michael. You guys are more brave than me.

but the defense hasn't really torn anyone apart on cross - perhaps fleak. other than that especially the experts have been solid.

seeing as alot of those defence witnesses are hostile he shouldnt have much trouble. cross would be like direct. anyone know what hes like on cross. seen him in action?

yeah i agree.fleek was abit shakey and rogers was abit week imo but all the others have been very strong. its not like with mez were alot said he won the case b4 the defence even started cause of his excellent cross

I feel as stressed as any other when it starts, but I couldnt miss the X exam. I need to know what they're up to. Or try to understand anyway b/c sometimes... they dont even seem to know themselves.
I want to keep my faith in Walgren and Brazil, they're really good. And they're all we have. And the witnesses, especially the experts who were quite impressive.

Re - TMZ thing, as I respect that board, I wont say where CM can shove his prayers.

he gave an interview???

Yes, I've just noticed it on tmz. I haven't watched the video but apparently he said that he's praying for the prosecutors.
