*NEW* MADONNA - 4 Minutes To Save The World (ft. Timbaland & Justin) (FULL)

After listening to "4 Minutes", I still do not like the song. However, that is me. They are playing the song constantly on Philly radio. Way more than Janet's "Feedback".

I saw clips of the video, Madonna looks great. Wow. JT, as usual, is sexy. LOL. Yeah, I said "sexy". There are still people on here that like JT, like moi. I have no comment on Timbo but his best work was with Aaliyah, Ginuwine and Missy. Wait, I did have a comment. LOL!

Madge looks great for her age. And if she had surgery, who cares?

Now, I am not a Maddy fan at all. I LOVE her old school joints, but not really a fan. However, there are people here who are fans and it would be nice if people like jaydom can respect that. You can make a point without trashing people. I mean, damn, aren't you people grown? And the JT bashing is corny! LOL. Dang, that stuff is getting old.

Ok, Maddy is in this week's "Us Weekly" with Mariah on the cover. In it, she talks about her worst outfits that she ever wore. When she went to the 1991 Oscars with our man, Mike, she said about her outfit: (paraphasing) "It was my worst outfit, like ever." I thought that was interesting.

Ok....the WHOLE album has leaked. I have the full 12 tracks now.

AMAZING!

Jona, what is your favorite track then?

I'm absolutely in love with the whole thing, but Miles Away and Give It 2 Me" rock!

Can you imagine this in a gay bar?...lol
Amazing.

are you guys hearing something I'm not? I've listened to the leaks and for some reason they do nothing for me.

yes, I listened to the album too, it's great, I can't just pick one or two tracks as favourite... I had been waiting for this album for so long, and I'm very, very happy now :D

that's why MJ should work with pharrell williams, he's amazing, a true producer unlike timbaland who really sucks compared to pharrell.

Afraid to say I agree BUT without ONE WORD of his singing, rapping whatever! What's with the word that he always repeats - YESSIR or whatever???

Hmm.... So hard to pick! I'm so in love with this album. However, if I must pick out some tracks I'm gonna go with Heartbeat, Give it 2 Me, and Miles Away. For now. Sure, I'm a fan but Madonna has truly outdone herself this time 'round. Who would have thought that 25+ years later Madonna could pull out such a hot ass album? Hard Candy is hot hot hot. Dayum!

This album will rock ALL bars and clubs. Hot hot hot.

i, the hell, am talking about when you said..'a michael jackson fan complaining about plastic surgery'?

you can't give the impression that you think that MJ fans have no right to call a person non objective if they think Madonna had nothing done, if ur going to call an MJ fan non objective if they think MJ had the least done of anyone. there are those that think botox does count as something. it can be considered a major change. and some say she had more than botox. it looks like it. the bottom line is that none of us can call the other out as non objective, while calling themselves objective. we can just go and discuss the music, and that's all.

Oh god you guys are killing me!!!

But yeah, anyway...I think the song is just a good club-banger (like most popular music released today--all about club life/dancing). I'm not a Madonna fan by any means, but I'll admit...the girl looks great. She takes care of herself. If she's had botox, or whatever, so what. It comes with the territory of fame. Period.

Ok, so I gotta add Dance 2Night to my favorites list. Also Beat Goes On. Might as well just say the whole album. :p

Just bought the album today. First listen for me and the stand out tracks are Heartbeat, this is the first song I've gone back to and Im loving it. Miles Away, Beat Goes on and Dance 2Night are my current favs. Im not immediately feeling the album as a whole in the way that I did with Confessions but it will probably be a grower. Candy Shop is pretty good, awful lyrics though.

One thing for Madonna though, she shows just how adaptible and versatile she can be. It will do me at least in the meantime til Michael gets his finger out and releases something new!

Apparentely , Madonna doesnt do well for the 1st week in the US , only 275 K predicted for the 1week , very low sales for an artist of this level and for a New material .

Maria sold 475k the first week , apparentely the hype of Hard Candy is only in Europe , the US seems to not care about this .

275,000 is a very respectable number in this day and age where artists struggle to go platinum. I think that just like Michael, Madonna is held to this standard where if an album of hers doesn't sell a gazillion copies it's considered a flop which is not fair. For someone who is nearly 50 years old and who has been in the business for as long as she has,for her to have a big hit song like "4 Minutes" is an accomplishment in itself because top 40 radio usually does not play artists her age. 4 Mins is her biggest U.S. hit since Die Another Day probably, but I'm sure when more singles are released from the album, sales will increase though, but it's way too soon to call this album a flop. Madonna will do fine (like always).

So very true. Plus, I've heard that it's set to move nearly 350k units. Who knows? The one thing I do know as pointed out before, Madonna will be fine. She ALWAYS is.

People pay too much attention to the numbers.
IMO, Jennifer Lopez's BRAVE is one of the best pop albums I have heard in recent years, and still it didn't sell more than a million (unfortunately).

So, as long as you like the album, don't worry about the sales, as Jona said, they are ALL always fine ;)

according to Billboard the sales should be 225-250,000. Here is the article:

Madonna is on track to net her seventh No. 1 album on next week's Billboard 200 with "Hard Candy," based on first-day sales measured by the Nielsen SoundScan Building Chart released Wednesday afternoon (April 30).

Unweighted sales for the Warner Bros. album from the Building Chart's panel of reporters through the close of business Tuesday, April 29, stood at 100,000.

Among all female artists, only Barbra Streisand has earned more No. 1s -- with eight. Currently, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson are all tied for the second most, with six apiece.

Late last year, Chris Brown's "Exclusive" posted a first day number of
107,000 and finished the week with 294,000. However, sources close to the Madonna project indicate that with much of "Hard Candy's" first-day figure driven by iTunes sales, its full sales week could end up closer to the range of 225,000-250,000.

Madonna's last studio effort, 2005's "Confessions on a Dance Floor," started at No. 1 with 350,000.

Billboard estimates the merchants who report to Nielsen SoundScan's Building Chart -- Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Circuit City, iTunes, Starbucks,Borders, Target, Anderson Merchandisers, and Handleman Co. -- comprise about 80% of all U.S. Album sales.

Leading the charge for "Hard Candy" is first single "4 Minutes," featuring Justin Timberlake, which peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard Hot 100 and spent two weeks at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs. The download has sold 1 million copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan, including 185,000 for the week that ended April 27.

Madonna first rang the Billboard 200's bell when "Like a Virgin" reached No. 1 in late 1984. Since then, she's claimed No. 1s with "True Blue" (1986), "Like a Prayer" (1989), "Music" (2000), "American Life" (2003) and "Confessions."

She also owns a whopping five sets that peaked at No. 2 -- "I'm Breathless" (1990), "The Immaculate Collection" (1990), "Erotica" (1992), the soundtrack to "Evita" (1996) and "Ray of Light" (1998).

On the Wednesday Building Chart, Lyfe Jennings' new "Lyfe Change" (Columbia) was in second place with 25,000. Other new titles appearing in that preliminary list's top 10 include the Roots' "Rising Down" (Def Jam), Portishead's "Third" (Mercury), Def Leppard's "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge" (Island/UMe), Augustana's "Can't Love, Can't Hurt" (Epic) and Mudcrutch's self-titled album (Reprise).

I agree Dangerous! As long as you like the music that's all that matters.

Anyway, how would everyone rate Madonna's new album?

My rating:

Candy Shop-3/5

4 Minutes-5/5

Give It 2 Me-4/5

Heartbeat-5/5

Miles Away-6/5 (This is the best thing she's recorded in awhile. Amazing song!)

She's Not Me-4/5

Incredible-4/5

Beat Goes On-5/5 (The beat in this is so hypnotic. Pharrell did a great job.I'm really hoping this is released as a single)

Dance2Night-5/5 (Another great dance track, I kinda get an MJ/OTW feel from this one).

Spanish Eyes-4/5 (La Isla Bonita part deux?)

The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You-5/5 (sounds like something from JT's "FutureSex/Love Sounds" album but it's a great song. Easily one of the best on the abum).

Voices-3.5/5

Hey Jona, how would you rate "Hard Candy"? Do you think it's better than "Confessions"? Because I can't seem to decide, I love both albums. Hard Candy really suprised me though, I thought it was gonna have a more "urban" sound and I really wasn't expecting much from the album to be honest, but it seems like Madonna kinda went back to her dance roots with this album. Confessions had dance songs too of course, but HC sounds disco influenced a bit. It has a very retro vibe.

OK I am really bored so I am gonna review as well...

1.Candy Shop - 3/5 - Contagious but ridiculously stupid lyrics

2.4 Minutes - 3.5/5 - Even more contagious, but that's just it. I don't LIKE the song, I just find it good for dancing and VERY contagious, nothing else...

3.Give it to me - 2/5 - Awful , don't like it at all, wish it wasn't a single

4.Heartbeat - 4.5/5 - Very nice vocals ,but expected more from the chorus. The "see my booty get down" part is rather entertaining lol

5.Miles Away - 5/5 - Reminds me of some other songs by other artists, but it is damn great.

6.She's Not Me - 2.5/5 - It is nice until the end of the 2nd chorus, when it becomes VERY nerve-breaking for me, the extra part of the song, that is

7.Incredible - 3/5 - Same as the previous song, it becomes really boring in the end... Wish it was 3 minutes shorter

8.Beat Goes On - 5/5 - The best upbeat song IMO. The "sparkly" music that goes from the beginning is just captivating. Really good one! Actually, surprisingly, only one of the 2 Pharell's tracks I really like, along with Heartbeat (which is weird cuz I thought I'd hate Timbaland's tracks)

9.Dance 2Night - 5/5 - Great track, like the bass-line and...yeah :)

10.Spanish Lesson - 0/5 - AWFUL!!! AWFUL!!! AWFUL!!! LA ISLA BONITA PART 2??? Give me a break! The song is NOTHING like La Isla Bonita! Has no beautiful melody, no good lyrics, the vocals are awful. Sorry to those who like it,but I really think that the song ruins the album...

11.Devil Wouldn't Recognize You - 5/5 - Even though it is quite Timbalandish , I LOVE the song and the lyrics, I think it is the best on the album and I hope it becomes a single...

12.Voices - 5/5 - Same as for the previous one, although I don't want it to be a single. It's got that little "ray of light" in it, cuz ever since that album, every next album had some song that kinda reminds one of it... This track does it for me here. Great music, kinda like Massive Attack, and good lyrics as well. Love the ending!!!

So yeah, that's it... All in all... 3/5

I like Confessions better to be honest. But her vocals are better here I think.

Well, Madonna is gonna be on "106 and Park" today (5/02). That should be interesting.

I heard that the CD will sell at least 300,000 copies its first week. That is very good for a woman her age. Like others stated, people her age are not played on the top 40 radio like that and she is getting the best reviews for her cd. That is good. I would love for that to happen to MJ when his stuff comes out.

I am adoring this.

I reckon it could be her best album ever. After the dire Confessions this is just what I needed.

I'm gonna do a full review soon, but best tracks are

Beat Goes On - just amazing
Candy Shop
Voices
4 Minutes - really grown on me
She's Not Me
Spanish Lesson

I haven't heard a Madonna album so packed with potential hit singles since True Blue.

Wow, relax lol. I didn't say it was as good as La Isla Bonita, but it does have a similar vibe. I don't think the song is as bad as you're saying though, I quite like it.

Well I am not attacking you or anything, just stating my opinion. And I would say the same if I didn't like some song from Michael like,say,2000 Watts. Honestly, in my opinion, Spanish Lesson is one of the worst songs of Madonna's I have heard in years. My opinion only! :agree:

Candy Shop-4/5 *

4 Minutes-5/5

Give It 2 Me-5/5 *

Heartbeat-5/5 * A stand out track. Gotta love hearing Madonna sing "See my booty get down".

Miles Away-5/5 * Brilliant. One of the finest of Madonna's entire career.

She's Not Me-4/5

Incredible-4/5

Beat Goes On-5/5 * Beep Beep! [try to get this one out of your head!]

Dance2Night-5/5 * Another great dance track. Has a cool 80's, almost Prince like vibe.

Spanish Lesson-3/5 Weakest track on the album but passable.

The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You-5/5

Voices
-4/5

All in all I am LOVING this album. I give it 4/5. There is only one track I am not really digging but other than that it's golden. Madonna proves with this album that she still has it and age ain't nothin' but a number.

Speaking of 106 & Park....., she apparently prefers 'old school' Michael Jackson as opposed to 'current' Michael Jackson when asked by the host about several musical artists.

Whateva.......
