Re: Joe Jackson appeals probate court judge's decision about contesting executors

this recent news story from TMZ has nothing to do with Joe contesting the will/ executors. it's totally different lawsuit.
whatever it is it doesnt change the fact that he is scum.

What the hell is wrong with Joseph? Does he even have a brain? Murray is smiling and dancing with his lawyers now.

Re: Joe Jackson appeals probate court judge's decision about contesting executors

The Joe story that TMZ are talking about is not related to this. But I agree, I'm fed up of him using Michael for his own gain.

How is it not related, Isn't it about the wrongful death suit?

Re: Dr. Conrad Murray's Attorney Reacts to Wrongful Death Suit Filed by Joe Jackson

dumb & dumber:doh:scratch:Soon, Murray's attorny will need an attorny to watch over his shoulders.

Re: Dr. Conrad Murray's Attorney Reacts to Wrongful Death Suit Filed by Joe Jackson

Dr. Murray neither prescribed or administered anything that should have killed Michael Jackson.

This line always makes me cringe.

Re: Dr. Conrad Murray's Attorney Reacts to Wrongful Death Suit Filed by Joe Jackson

In other words "it's Michael's fault he died".
He's been advised to say that since day 1.
Despicable.

EXCLUSIVE: Judge Rules Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Conrad Murray Can Move Forward

Joe Jackson's civil lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray over the death of pop icon Michael Jackson can now move forward, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

United States District Judge John F. Walter gave the Jackson patriarch the go-ahead to proceed with the case now that the proper paperwork has been submitted.

On August 4, 2010, Judge Walter requested that Jackson prove that the United States District Court, Central District of California had jurisdiction in the case because in Jackson’s original complaint, he failed to “allege the defendant’s principal place of business.”

Weeks later, Jackson's attorney Brian Oxman drafted and provided Judge Walker with a first amended complaint in response to the inquiry.

Today, Judge Walker ruled he was satisfied with the paperwork and is allowing the lawsuit to proceed.

Joe Jackson's civil lawsuit targets Dr. Murray as well as his businesses, Acres Home Heart & Vascular Institute and GCA Holdings, LLC for the wrongful death of Michael Jackson.

Jackson is seeking unspecified damages.

Doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death seeks dismissal of his father's wrongful death case
By The Associated Press (CP) – 9 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Attorneys for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death are seeking the dismissal of a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the singer's father.

Attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray sought the dismissal in a motion filed Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The documents ask a judge to dismiss the case on the basis that Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, did not have the legal right to file the case on grounds that he's not a beneficiary of the estate.

The Jackson family patriarch sued Murray in federal court on June 25, the one-year anniversary of his son's death. He claimed the doctor acted negligently by providing the pop singer with a mix of sedatives, including the anesthetic propofol.

Murray pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in criminal court.

Katherine Jackson sues AEG

Jackson's mother sues concert promoter AEG Live

Jackson's Mother Sues Concert Promoter AEG Live

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Jackson's mother sued a concert promoter Wednesday, alleging the company failed to provide life-saving equipment and oversee a doctor who was hired to look out for the pop star's well-being as he prepared for what were intended to be his comeback concerts.

Katherine Jackson's lawsuit was filed against AEG Live in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

The suit contends AEG and its agents told Michael Jackson the company would provide the equipment and hire Dr. Conrad Murray to care for him so he could perform at the concerts in London.

"AEG's representations to Jackson were false because in reality AEG was merely doing whatever it took to make sure that Michael Jackson could make it to rehearsals and shows and AEG did not provide a doctor who was truly looking out for Jackson's well-being and did not provide equipment," the lawsuit stated.

AEG spokesman Michael Roth said the company has not seen the lawsuit and had no immediate comment.

AEG Live President and CEO Randy Phillips said after Jackson's June 2009 death that Murray was enlisted to act as Jackson's personal physician and was to be paid $150,000 a month by AEG Live as the singer prepared for the concerts.

Jackson, however, died before signing the agreement. As a result, Phillips said it was not binding.

The suit also said AEG Live was responsible for the actions of Murray in the care of Jackson. Murray, however, was not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.

"At the time of his death, Michael Jackson was under the immediate care of a doctor selected by, hired by, and controlled by AEG; indeed AEG demanded and required that Michael Jackson be treated by this particular doctor to ensure that Michael Jackson would attend all rehearsals and shows on the tour," the complaint stated.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death at age 50. Police said Murray gave Jackson an overdose of the anesthetic propofol.

Katherine Jackson, who is the guardian of the singer's three children, also sued on their behalf. Her lawsuit claimed Jackson's eldest son, Prince, suffered great trauma and severe emotional distress because he witnessed his father's final moments.

The lawsuit alleged that Jackson's agreement with AEG put him under immense pressure to complete the London concerts. The suit claims AEG would have taken over Jackson's share in a lucrative music catalog that includes songs by The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Jackson and the Jackson 5, which was one of the singer's best assets after years of accumulating debt.

The comeback concerts in London sold out in anticipation of Jackson's return as the King of Pop.

Despite years of self-imposed exile, he retained a huge, loyal following of fans overjoyed at the prospect of seeing him reclaim the glory he'd attained with albums like "Thriller" and songs like "Beat It!" and "Billie Jean."

The singer's father, Joe Jackson, has sued Murray for wrongful death in federal court. Murray's attorneys filed a motion Wednesday seeking a dismissal of that case, which alleges the cardiologist acted negligently and lied to emergency-room physicians trying to resuscitate the singer.

A hearing on the dismissal motion is scheduled for Oct. 18

Oops.
I guess I thought this had to do with the case and not just news and happenings.
Mod delete this if you want.

Re: Katherine Jackson sues AEG

This DEFINATELY has to do with the case.

As I mentioned in the other thread about this, I find this lawsuit quite strange. Simply because the children are mentioned in it. Would Katharine really want to include Michael's children in all this legal mess? That doesn't even sound like something she would do.

Unless she's been discussing things with the children.

I really don't know the meaning behind this lawsuit. Whether she's being pressured to include the children so that it will seem like the children knew about Michael's "drug habits" also. I really don't know.

Also, check this out. It's a more updated version of this news. It's also adds more to the fact that Murray was lying about the number of weeks he was carrying out his murder prescription. Remember, Murray said Michael was taking that stuff for six weeks. Many who are really looking into this believe it was less than six weeks.

Compare taking this drugs every single night for six weeks, as Murray says, to Kai Chase mentioning Murray only came sometimes, and for only four weeks. It becomes even less possible that Michael did have a drug problem.....

With his sold-out concert series only four weeks away and a sickly Michael Jackson missing yet another rehearsal, the promoter gave the star an ultimatum: Start taking drugs from a new doctor to keep you going, or we'll sue you for millions.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20427138,00.html

Although, the thing I don't agree about in that lawsuit is Michael seeming out of it at his rehearsals. I watched TII about ten times. I can't find any point where he seems drugged up.

IF the children are saying this, then I will believe it. If not, then no. But then, IF the children are saying that, how do we know no one is putting things into their head or telling them what to say?

And now we have a trial coming up against Murray, and two different lawsuits? I don't much about law, but can he handle all three of those at once?

I'll wait to see what transpires in this before I way in.

However, AEG needs to pay and pay BIG!

Re: Katherine Jackson sues AEG

I am very happy with this lawsuit for the simple reason it brings the bigger sharks into the picture.
We all know charges against Murray are ridiculous, so no justice will ever come with the criminal trial. So I don't really care if Murray gets 1 or 2 years or a slap in the wrist and walks to the Carribean with his pockets full.
This lawsuit is probably the last good thing Katherine has the chance to do for her son. So my hopes are high that she will not settle out of court and that it will trigger a new round of investigation, where new evidence will result in new charges and some evil suits will be put behind bars for a long time.

New Claim: Michael Jackson Supported His Dad
10/5/2010 9:25 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

Michael Jackson secretly supported daddy Joe Jackson ... according to new legal docs.

In legal docs filed in Joe's wrongful death case against Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael's former alleged manager, Leonard Rowe, wrote a sworn statement in which he claims Katherine acted as Michael's agent, funneling money to Joe for support.

And Joe's lawyer, Brian Oxman, wrote his own declaration in which he claims he prepared financial docs for Michael during his 2004 custody battle with Debbie Rowe. In those declarations, Oxman claims Michael disclosed he was giving Katherine $50,000 a month in the early 2000s and later it went up to $66,000. Oxman says Katherine used part of the money to pay for Joe's living expenses.

The legal docs are being used in the wrongful death case to prove Joe has standing to sue -- in other words, he must show Michael had been supporting Joe during his lifetime.

Michael's camp had no comment.
