BHPD Say They Found “No Criminal Activity” In Lisa Marie Presley Child Abuse Case
Sizzling Tea – Beverly Hills Police Sergeant Max Subin sent the following press release in response to events surrounding a petition for legal separation between Lisa Marie Presley and husband Michael Lockwood, in which their 8-year-old twin daughters, Finley and Harper Lockwood, were taken into custody by California’s Department of Children and Family Services:
“In June, 2016, the Beverly Hills Police Department was notified of alleged child abuse involving the Presley family. It was then quickly determined the allegations stemmed from activity originating in the state of Tennessee. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI) was notified and immediately responded to California to initiate their own investigation. Due to the fact that members of the Presley family were visiting the City of Beverly Hills at the time the allegations were received, the Beverly Hills Police Department assisted the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations with their investigation. Additionally, the Beverly Hills Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the City of Beverly Hills that led to the seizure of several items pursuant to the warrant.
“It is believed there is no criminal activity related to these allegations in the City of Beverly Hills. We are currently working with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations to evaluate the evidence. Based on the fact this is an open investigation, the Beverly Hills Police Department has no further information to provide.”
Lisa Marie has filed for divorce following the ten-year marriage with Lockwood. She is seeking sole custody of the girls after an incident in which she allegedly found “indecent photographs” of children on her husband’s computer, according to court papers. She also says that police seized over 80 devices from her husband.
Said court papers, “There is a trial set in March in the Edelman Children’s Court regarding allegations of sexual abuse and neglect that originated when I disclosed my concerns about the hundreds of inappropriate photos that I discovered that Respondent had taken as well as disturbing video footage and behavior. When I discovered the photos on Respondent’s computer, and viewed the videos, I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach. I had no idea that Respondent had taken these photos.”
In addition, Lockwood is seeking to nullify a post-nuptial agreement in which the pair agreed to make no claims on each others’ property. Lockwood is seeking spousal support of $40K a month, and another $100K in attorney’s fees from Presley, who claims she is destitute and mired in debt following the mishandling of her estate by her husband and business manager.
Presley, who entered rehab last August, disclosed in court documents that since her release, she has been living at her mother’s house and at her daughter, Riley Keough’s house. She also says that she has not traveled or purchased any luxury items, that her home in Sussex, England is underwater, and that she owes the government of England and the US over $1.5 million in taxes never paid by her business manager. She claims that Lockwood spent over $1 million on her credit cards without her consent and that he mismanaged her affairs during their marriage.
Currently, according to court filings, she lists her income as $100,000/yr from her father’s trust, and a little over $4,000/mo. from work she does for Graceland, which she says that she uses to pay the family’s health insurance costs.
As for the evidence confiscated in the raid in Beverly Hills, Sgt. Subin says that a search warrant was served, and the BHPD, “recovered evidence. We are working with TBI to evaluate the evidence. It appears there is no evidence of a crime in the City of Beverly Hills. This is an open investigation. The preliminary investigation shows no criminal wrongdoing in the City.”
Presley has two grown children with her first husband, Danny Keough, son Ben and daughter Riley. She was also married very briefly to Nicolas Cage and to Michael Jackson before Lockwood.
