NEW | Michael Jackson Memoir: The Lost Tapes

So if that kid thought of the title for 'SoS' than maybe the claim of Gotham Chopra about him writing lyrics for MJ is also true..?

'Most of those days, Michael was holed up on top of the Four Seasons, roughly 60 blocks away from where I lived on the upper Westside of Manhattan just near Harlem. I’d happily drift downtown, gain clearance from security downstairs who knew I was allowed free access to Michael’s suite, take the elevator all the way up and start ordering room service and watch movies on Mike’s tab. Eventually, Michael and I would get down to work. He was working on a new album and asked me to help him write lyrics for songs. It was an informal relationship – I’d wander downtown with a backpack full of dictionaries, and thesauri, and rhyming books. Michael would hum songs and talk about what he wanted to say with the song and we’d try and marry our skillsets and come up with something. We came up with great stuff. Michael swore me to secrecy those days. I happily complied.

After we were done with those sessions – they’d usually go until about 2 AM or so – Michael would wander into the bathroom and come out with a sack he’d pulled out from under the toilet. In it, he kept several thousands of dollars. He’d ask me how much I wanted. I just sort of shrugged and he’d hand me a couple of thousand dollars. Soon, I’d be packing my dictionaries and thesauri and rhyming books in my backpack, calling my friends and telling them to meet me downtown. Within an hour, we’d be at Flashdancers “making it rain.”

Although Crack Kills or Tomboy would also be quite cool. Maybe that Ronson remix or WALWTG finally..
If what they share is Thriller era demos then an HQ version of Dream Away or MJ's approved mix of Chicago 1945 would be great too. Or even one of the songs from that cancelled Peter Pan soundtrack.

Alright it's nice to hope but let's calm down a little, I don't think Lowe has much in her possession actually... a few demos mentioned by Michael in the making-of Moonwalker and that's it I think. We just have to hope the interviewer asked him something about what he was working on in 1983-84.

Eh, she's shown to be in possession of plenty of rare media so I don't think it's that far-fetched to say she might have a song that hasn't been heard yet. It probably would explain why she thinks that hiding the demos behind a $60 subscription is a fair deal.
When is that Freddie recording being shared?
I noticed recently that the description of Volume 6 was changed, before it used to say:

"Later, MJ talks about Queen front man Freddie Mercury and the duet they recorded together. He recorded some tunes with him - but told him Mick would be on State Of Shock instead, which Freddy understood.

(The MJ/ Freddie duet - will be soon available asMember's ONLY content)"

But now it says:

"Later, MJ talks about Queen front man Freddie Mercury and the duet they recorded together. 1600 He recorded some tunes with him – but told him Mick would be on State Of Shock instead, which Freddy understood.

When asked about who his dream collaboration is, MJ emphatically mentions Spielberg“
I love Steven. I really do. We’re so much alike."
Michael continually gushes about the genius of Spielberg and shares the history of their collaboration on the E.T. album. Michael references a letter that Speilberg wrote, paraphrasing:"You are The leader of innocence. Continue. Because there is a child born every second"

Then the channel posted a short that has Freddie and MJ's demo of State Of Shock playing in the background, so what I think happened is that they were going to post Freddie's demo of SOS but didn't realize it had already leaked so they stopped teasing it lol.

We've had SOS for years, we're waiting on Victory

People trying to make money off this stuff taking Ls is always welcomed and savoured.
People that spend money on this while also calling Brad Sunderberg a rip off artist taking Ls is also always welcomed and savoured.

I hope they have nothing to share but the same demoes from This Is It or something.

Mick had nothing to do with the lyrics, the 12 year old kid came up with the lyrics and MJ altered them to give them more of an edge.

Surely the situation must've resolved itself at some point, with the kid getting the royalties, but it still means that every historical record (Wikipedia etc) is wrong about saying Randy Hansen (guitarist) co-wrote the song.
Im gonna have to correct you He said the kid came up with a few lines of the song, not Large portion of the lyrics.

Michael was still nice enough to give him credit for the 2 lines he contributed, just like he gave lionel richie half credit for we are the world even though he only came up with 5 seconds of the melody.

The fact that he was so generous with credit just further makes me believe certain individuals are embellishing and/or outright lying when they claimed after Michael's death that they wrote cetain parts of songs and weren't credited.

If the Estate has blocked this I can't understand it, I mean you have Michael speaking for himself in a positive light. They should release more material like this if anything
It was probably because of the members subscription and the copyright claims of other re-uploads, I don't see what other reason they'd have to take down the uploads when they've shown not to care when unseen content gets leaked.

I saw in a new comment that they still intend to upload more videos and that there's a new one coming out this week. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't share new demos after these takedowns though.

Was there more to share?

it’s such a shame. the highlight of my week was the upload of the latest episode. I loved how candid michael was about topics he hadn’t been asked about before. especially during that timeframe. there was a difference in how he spoke in private versus public. I was enjoying learning more about his complexities.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the quotes that ended up in these documentaries were taken from these tapes. there’s a possibility that the estate was involved with their removal. however, I also maintain that it could have been a jealous fan stealing, and wanting to be the first to have the exclusive. we even saw a witch-hunt in this very thread regarding the uploader.

can’t we just enjoy anything?😩

That's the second time you've accused me of doing "witch-hunting" lol, while the first time you even said I was jealous. Of what? I'm not a content creator, I don't have pages or YouTube accounts, those posts of mine on here were purely for informational purposes.

Anyway, (as I said before) I loved the vids too, it sucks knowing that the rest of Michael's tapes probably won't be uploaded anymore.

I didn’t even mention you by name. in fact, I had to scroll up to see if it was you. you clearly have a guilty conscience, and rightfully so. I stand by my comments.

it doesn’t matter whether or not you’re a content creator. by digging up the history of the uploader, you attempted to damage their reputation. your posts were available for the public to see and share. those accusations most likely gained traction.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone alerted the estate as a result that. I doubt it would have been an issue if you, or someone you approved of leaked the tapes..

anyway, it’s all over now. I’m done discussing this.
