Glad to know you enjoyed them Wouldn't have guessed otherwise That pic with the Koala is cute indeed, strong lipstick included lol. It's probably from way back when the HIStory tour hit the land down under in late Autumn of 1996 if my memory serves me right.

Owls are great. I was watching a part of a documentary about them just a few days ago. Their night vision and sense of spacial orientation is spectacular.

^^^ Blue, perhaps at times it is ok to simply recognize just how overwhelming things can be. Trying to smile in the face of horrifying circumstances only makes the pain deeper because of the effort to conceal it. That is why I never really could agree with the great Chaplin when in Smile he was wondering about the purpose of crying. It is not only helpful, but a most healthy means of releasing true emotions and expressing one's humanity.

There are all kinds of clouds in the sky to darken our existence, but we must try to remember, however difficult it can be at times [and I may know a thing or two about that] that this world of ours truly is a wonderful place.

Just some reminders of the preciousness of life and the beauty of the world which still reigns supreme, in spite of all "evidence" to the contrary.

Shallow, "feel-good" spirituality has never been a favorite brand of mine. I also find completely counterproductive the whole idea of inducing in people struggling with utmost sadness a feeling of guilt for not showing gratitude for their trials and tribulations by reminding them that others have to go through even more serious issues.

Collective traumas and personal tragedies are very difficult to overcome, but I think we must all try, within our human limitations of course, to see beyond them. The glory of life remains visible and there is immense beauty even beyond all the powerful affirmations of darkness and destruction which seem to engulf us.

Art is one of humanity's greatest gifts and one of its many and great functions is to provide us with escapism. This next piece is probably one of my favorite moments in movie history and it's bound to put a smile on the face of any ole soul like mine that delights in genuine entertainment
