Spreading hate on a massive platform 100 percent makes people more comfortable doing it themselves and causes more real world violence and harm. I'm not understanding the separation you're trying to establish here between Candace and the people that agree with her, they are the same.

Her and others like her should not be absolved of the hatred and violence caused by ideas they try to instill into others as that is their intention.

To clarify my position, I do not personally absolve anyone of hatred and violence and I have not seen the bits I have of Candace Owens, doing that, (inciting hate/violence).

Its been years since I have seen LBGTQ members threatened of existence.

I have stood with my "gay" acquaintances (I have a problem with that terminology bc its "gaslights" the original meaning of the word but that's here nor there)

Despite that some gay people have caused me problems I have stood with the ones I'm friendly with in solidarity of their human rights.

I also thought that the work of the human rights activism LBGTQs have done within the past decade has clarified that everyone is to treat them with respect.

Also, about drag queens visiting or working in schools, I am under the understanding that it is against the law to prohibit them from it, and I am not saying they should necessarily be banned unless they are being subliminally suggestive with children who cannot comprehend "performance art sarcasm" or however they categorize the elaborate flamboyance that defines 'drag queen'.. I do have a problem with mandates that young children overall have to have their attention preoccupied with a question of their "sexual identity" overall. Its age inappropriate.

Every elementary school should have a counselor, who's job it should be, to find out where each child's head is, and deal with each child invividually.

The essential definition of the word, "queer" is "weird"...just like the essential definition of the word "gay" is happy.

Little children process information through their emotions because they do not possess the cognitive understanding or vocabulary to process, "MasculineFemineMix" unless they have that in their home environment, so they will experience "Queer" as weird. "Weird" is a feeling. Children process through their feelings.

I think the problem is not children not understanding things, but grown up society making queer people a problem and even denying that queer people exist. Children have to learn that female and male exist why shouldn´t they be able to learn that queer people / LGBTQ people exist?

I was discussing young single digit age kids, not pre-pubecsants where learning about all kinds of sexualities will be relevant for them to learn about.

Candace is a far-right commentator with ties to other far-right hatemongers and dabbles in conspiracy theories. She's not the best person to listen to when it comes to facts and politics.

I've noticed that in the news, people with mostly right wing views believe that MJ is innocent, while the overall media atmosphere that assumes MJ's guilt and sides with the accusers are left leaning. Left-wing media wants to present itself as the side that believes victims or accusers rather. They went along with the Me Too movement and made it mainstream. (Nothing wrong with it in itself. Just speculating.) Each accusation against a rich and/or powerful person was, and still are, treated with support as if the accusers are telling the truth, especially if there's more than one.

When LN came, the media jumped on top of it. They watched it and accepted it without so much as a question or concern about the claims. They just took Wade and James' testimonies in as 'proof' that MJ was a pedo. (One could call it confirmation bias as the media pretty much had suspicions about MJ and children from the beginning, and they thought LN was what they needed to close their case.) Wade, James and Dan Reed all got their 15 minutes of fame for a while. The media might have thought that there would be an influx of accusers against Jackson like with Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein.

But that never happened.

Soon after, the media began reporting on the train station claims as being inaccurate. And soon LN's popularly waned, but the accusations are still kinda fresh in the media's memory banks where as of yet, no one stood up and said that they have problems with the testimonies, at least not from left wing media like Salon, the Guardian or even the Root.

Piers Morgan was one commentator that questioned Dan Reed on his show. That's the only person from the media that I remember that had questions and he has conservative views. I remember Geraldo Rivera from Fox News and Mike Cernovich, a far-right provocateur, both saying that Jackson is innocent. But I haven't heard anyone from the left so much as wonder if the claims were true or not. They basically used the accusations to not only paint Jackson as guilty, but held Wade and James up as survivors that deserve to be heard.

The left talks a good game about justice and equality but actions say more than words. They are the first ones in line to throw out due process of law and the presumption of innocence and condemn someone as guilty through the mob. They are very similar to the racist whites of the past who would lynch black people over any accusation with no trial. Exactly, and liberals - especially white liberals - love Kimmel despite that.

I think the problem for both right and left is that they are getting too extreme. It's all pretty undemocratic actually, absolute mob mentality. It's not about true values and believes, but about click bate and popularity. No one is having a discussion anymore and if people ask sensitive questions or call people out on their BS they get canceled. On the other hand the right camp is getting their click bate through sensationalism and spreading fear with all kind of insane conspiracy theories. It's sick!

Maybe its an unanswerable question, like why do laws vary from State to State when peoples' basic human needs don't change just because they move, with the possible exception of minimum wage which should be adjusted all the way around with infation.

My interest in this forum is that my elder brother was a contractor in Santa Barbara and had worked on the Neverland property. His wife was a huge fan of Michael Jackson, and my brother was a Paul McCartney fan. They were there for the "Say Say Say" video shoot. My big brother and his wife have both since passed. Michael Jackson will always be iconic for the music legacy he left us with!

This post got me here because of what I have seen in Youtube videos. I'm a journalist in the music industry, and have Santa Barbara connections with family there. It will take a longer comment/post from me at a later time, thanks to what I have learned .. I am sure that Sony did not care about their artists addictions to drugs, in fact they enabled it because it gave the corporate entity more control over the artists. Michael became addicted to drugs from when his hair caught on fire and he was given powerful, addictive pain meds at that time. No one considered that he might become addicted and need help getting sober. However Michael also went into denial because he would never want children to know that someone as beloved as he was could be an addict.

I know from having spoken with a former assistant DA in the alleged child molest case that the Santa Barbara DA brought against MJ that everyone .. even the DA knew MJ was innocent. They actually were hoping to get MJ to break down and give the list of doctors who were supplying him and other major artists with drugs through corporate entertainment connections. Prince and Tom Petty were trying to avoid being pegged as "addicts" even though they were not regular users like MJ was at the time .. they scored street drugs that had Fent.. you know what in it. That is why we lost them, and others. Doctor Conrad Murray should be speaking the truth, but he was hired by Sony to keep MJ alive long enough to pay some more bills and make Sony money. He failed at that.

I absolutely understand how major labels have used drug and alcohol addiction as a way to blackmail, and control their musicians. They have done it since Billie Holiday times .. maybe longer. I photographed live concerts right along side a person well known for photographing musicians. I wont mention his name as his estate is worth millions, but I lost respect for him when I learned that he was a drug and alcohol dealer back in the days when he photographed Jazz greats .. by providing them with free drugs and alcohol as a way to get in the dressing rooms to get the most intimate pictures of them .. this is also what he did with the many rock music icons he photographed before they died. The record company executives and managers knew this was going on. They encouraged it, and even provided the access for those drugs and alcohol in bulk.

My thoughts on this subject make sense as for example look at the history of MGM with Judy Garland. People are sensitive to addiction, mental illness and suicide. These people we so loved for the joy they brought to our lives are no different. It is because I have personally lost friends and family to alcohol, drugs and suicide that I express the need for more awareness, empathy and most of all HELP for those who need it. Getting them to accept it is another issue. Big corporations don't care about us!

The good news is that things have been changing. Many of the young artists I work with now are aware of the dangers of addiction. What also is a factor is that the Internet and digital technology provides the tools to completely avoid having to sign with a corporate label to make an income from music! I like what Taylor Swift is doing in flexing her muscle to OWN her music as she has put the corporate greed on notice. Many influencers are doing well on Youtube Tik Tok and other platforms. They may not be making the millions or billions like the few at the top, but they are happy. I'm happy to be here!

I have no doubt that Sony was complicit in Michael's addiction, unfortunately.

Interesting but also sad to hear about the DA business. So so sad. They should have cleared his name anyway. It's not fair to leave these allegations open, hanging over him. They were part of what destroyed him.
