Lisa Marie Presley Accuses Ex of ‘Feigning Amnesia’ Over Postnuptial Agreementhttps://theblast.com/lisa-marie-presley-postnuptial-agreement/

Lisa Marie Presley is fighting hard to enforce the postnuptial agreement she and her ex-husband signed — because it MASSIVELY favors her — claiming his “feigning amnesia or ignorance” should be seen for the money grab that it is.

Presley and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, are set to appear in court next month in their divorce battle. They will be arguing the validity of the postnuptial agreement they signed in 2007, one year into the marriage.

According to new court documents obtained by The Blast, Presley is calling BS on Lockwood’s claims that he was not aware of what he was signing, never read the document, and was never explained the terms.

Presley says that Lockwood was “completely aware” of the terms of the deal, “was completely represented by counsel” and “had the full and complete opportunity to negotiate the Agreement.” She adds that she “did not gain an unfair advantage or use undue influence to force the execution of the Postnuptial Agreement.”

In the court docs filed by Presley’s lawyer, Gary Fishbein, Presley lays out the terms of the deal which are very much tilted in her favor.

The deal says there will be no community property created during the marriage: meaning not only would Lisa Marie Presley keep everything she brought into the marriage, but also anything she acquired during the marriage would be hers to keep as well.

“All property owned or acquired by [Presley],” the docs state, “regardless of whether it was acquired prior or subsequent to date of marriage, shall remain the separate property of [Presley], and [Lockwood] shall have no interest therein.”

The postnup also states that neither side shall have the right to spousal support “at any time, regardless of circumstances.”

Presley says she will show during the trial that Lockwood’s current contention that he lacked the proper knowledge to make the deal is nonsense.

“So,” Presley’s attorney asks, “does this Court believe the word of [Lockwood] who clearly has much to gain economically by feigning amnesia or ignorance, or does this Court follow the language in the certification executed by an attorney who had been practicing family law since 1956?”

Lisa Marie Presley — who is the sole trustee and beneficiary of the Promenade Trust, which owns 15% interest in Elvis Presley Enterprises — was worth $62,763,382 when the couple signed the postnup; Lockwood had a negative net worth due to significant tax and other debts.

And here’s the kicker — Presley says before the marriage, she told Lockwood that “she would not marry someone who would come after her for her money and [Lockwood] assured her he was not that guy. So much for assurances.

The two are set to battle it out in court next month.

Lisa Marie Presley forced to convince judge how poor she really is http://www.hollywoodnewsdaily.com/2...ve-to-judge-just-how-poor-she-really-is/12943

Lisa Marie Presley has been through so much when it comes to courtroom battles, especially with her latest divorce battle with soon-to-be fourth ex Michael Lockwood. Lockwood is not backing down when it comes to making sure he drains every last cent he feels he is entitled to from Lisa Marie Presley in this divorce. according to the N.E.

It has been a long and nasty fight and one that does not appear to be going away anytime soon. As previously reported, Lisa Marie Presley has admittedly publicly that she is broke. The only daughter of the late King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley has even sworn in court that she is completely tapped out and practically homeless.

Lisa Marie claims that her Elvis Presley inheritance is long gone. However, now, Michael Lockwood is claiming that no matter how rough Lisa Marie Presley claims she has it financially, he has even worse problems.

RADAR Online reports that Michael Lockwood, according to the divorce documents shows how difficult it is for Lisa Marie to keep burning through her fortune. Court records show that she’s making over $150,000 a year while suing her former business manager for leaving her broke!

Michael also claims that he has received “almost nothing” from Lisa Marie Presley since the divorce which has put him in major debt. Lockwood also claims that Lisa Marie is also now getting a check of $51,600 as an employee of Graceland plus $100,000 per month from her inheritance.

This is a huge case of he said/she said and looks to drag on for several months. Lisa Marie is also currently involved in a lawsuit with her former business manager claiming he mismanaged her money, while he claims she just spent like there was no tomorrow.

There have been all sorts of rumors and speculation floating around concerning new ideas Lisa Marie Presley has come up with to make some fast cash including an Elvis Presley Hologram concert tour, a tell-all book.

There has even been the rumor of a possible Lisa Marie Presley reality series featuring Lisa and her children sharing their views on what it has been growing up Presley and as the late Elvis Presley’s grandchildren, Riley, Benjamim Keough, and Harper and Finley. However, this rumor appears to be a huge reach considering just how much Lisa Marie prefers to keep her life as low-key as possible.

[video=youtube;eR_YrFq_oiw]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR_YrFq_oiw&feature=youtu.be[/video]

Things appear to be pretty hard for Lisa, she has also claimed that she has not had a home of her own since 2017 adding that following her rehab stay she lived with her mom Priscilla Presley, and she now currently lives with her adult daughter Riley Keough.

Michael Lockwood, on the other hand, claims he knows Lisa Marie Presley is singing a sad story to gain sympathy and he plans on fighting it all out in court where hopefully sooner, rather than later the judge will once and for all decide who has been telling the truth, and which of them really are as broke as they claim.

Well she is (Lockwood's gf) been pretty consistent with her views, I guess.....

Lisa Marie’s Ex Accuses Her Of Withholding Information, ‘Game Playing’ In Divorce

Michael Lockwood has claimed their post-nuptial agreement is invalid.

Lisa Marie Presley’s ex claims Elvis’ famous daughter and her former attorney purposely withheld information regarding their post-nuptial agreement, and now he says they are still “game playing,” according to documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com.

The former couple is embroiled in a nasty divorce, with Lockwood claiming the post-nuptial agreement he signed in 2007 is invalid.

In Los Angeles court documents filed Wednesday, August 8, Lockwood alleged Presley’s former lawyer, Jane Saltsman, withheld documents that she and Presley claimed were “privileged.”

“While Ms. Saltsman testified about one conversation that she claimed she had with [Mr. Alan Neiman, Lockwood’s former attorney], Respondent was unable to verify her claims about the conversation or when it occurred because she withheld her noted and her time/billing records,” wrote Lockwood’s attorney, Jeff Sturman, in the affidavit.

“Moreover, there were several questions where Ms. Saltsman testified that she did not recall the facts, and that there were no non-privileged documents that would refresh her recollection.”

“Respondent filed his Motion in Liminie to prevent his being unfairly surprised and prejudiced by hearing Ms. Saltsman testify for the first time at trial about matters that she claimed that she could not remember in deposition unless she reviewed supposedly privileged documents she withheld, or about matters that Respondent was unable to verify because Petitioner and Ms. Saltsman withheld documents on privilege grounds.”

Lockwood said he is not trying to prevent Saltsman from testifying in the upcoming trial, only that he wants information so he would not be unfairly surprised.

Meanwhile, Presley has said in court documents filed on July 27 that the postnuptial agreement is valid and enforceable, and what they both signed was “negotiated at length” between them and their respective attorneys.

Under the postnuptial agreement, both parties waive the right to receive spousal support at any time, aid Presley’s attorney, Gary Fishbein, in the affidavit.

Presley also said Lockwood was “completely aware” that all property that she owned before and subsequent to their marriage would remain as her separate property.

Lockwood had a chance to negotiate the terms of the postnuptial agreement before signing, Fishbein wrote in the affidavit.

“Respondent’s current position of, ‘Gee, I didn’t know what I was signing,’ or his contradictory stories about when he had a lawyer, if he had a lawyer, etc., are not grounds for invalidating the Agreement,” Fishbein said. “If claiming ignorance or nonchalance were grounds to void a contest, then virtually no contact would be safe from attack.”

Presley, 50, and Lockwood, 57, separated in June 2016 after 10 years of marriage and have two children, 9-year old twins Harper and Finley.

Elvis’ Daughter Wins Divorce Court Ruling: Lisa Marie Battles Over Twin Girls https://mynewsla.com/hollywood/2018...rt-ruling-lisa-marie-battles-over-twin-girls/

Lisa Marie Presley won a round in court when a family law judge ruled, over the objection of her estranged husband, that all documents related to the legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old twin daughters be filed under seal for now pending a full hearing in October.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner issued his ruling Friday after Presley’s lawyer, Gary Fishbein, filed court papers requesting the order. The documents included a sworn declaration from the late Elvis Presley’s 50-year-old daughter, who said she expects issues raised in separate dependency court proceedings regarding the twins to be raised when custody hearings start in family law court.

The dependency court sessions centered around allegations by Presley that she found disturbing photos and videos of other children on estranged husband Michael Lockwood’s computer.

“I have no doubt that the allegations that are going to be made on both sides during what will likely be contested custody proceedings are going to be salacious and prurient,” Presley says.

Presley further says that the media will want to publish all they can from documents filed with the court and that the children could suffer “irreparable damage” through the loss of their privacy rights.

“No matter what I may try to do to prevent our children from reviewing those articles, I cannot do that forever and… once on the internet, those articles do not every disappear,” Presley’s declaration says.

Lockwood’s attorney, Jeff Sturman, stated in his papers opposing the sealing motion that there was no “immediate harm” justifying the application and that litigants are not entitled to sealing orders “merely because they are rich or famous.”

Sturman further says in his court papers that he offered to give Presley advance notice of any child custody documents he files in family law court if she also agrees to give his client the same courtesy. Presley rejected the offer, according to Sturman’s court papers.

The full hearing on the sealing order is scheduled for Oct. 10. The judge’s order asks both sides to “cooperate with one another to keep the children’s privacy interests intact.”

Presley and Lockwood met in 2003 when she hired him as musical director for her band and for her first record. Presley filed for divorce in June 2016.

Lisa Marie Presley Accused Of ‘Game Playing’ By Michael Lockwood In Divorce Case http://www.hollywoodnewsdaily.com/2...ing-by-michael-lockwood-in-divorce-case/13079

Lisa Marie Presley ex-fourth husband Michael Lockwood has accused her of “game playing” in their ongoing divorce battle according to Radar Online. Lockwood has also claimed that his and Lisa Marie Presley’s post-nuptial agreement is invalid as things continue to grow nastier and nastier in the former couple’s divorce proceedings.

Lisa Marie Presley is being accused along with her former lawyer of deliberately withholding crucial information regarding Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood’s post-nuptial agreement and reveals he is getting tired of all the game playing that is going on.

New documents obtained by RO reveals that Lockwood claims that the agreement Lockwood signed back in 2007 is invalid. The celebrity news site obtained a copy of the Los Angeles court docs which were filed on August 8th, 2018. The papers also state that is accusing the daughter of the late Elvis Presley‘s former lawyer, Jane Saltsman of withholding information that she and Lisa Marie claims was “privileged.”

“While Ms. Saltsman testified about one conversation that she claimed she had with [Mr. Alan Neiman, Lockwood’s former attorney], Respondent was unable to verify her claims about the conversation or when it occurred because she withheld her noted and her time/billing records,”

Michael Lockwood reportedly claimed that he is not trying to prevent Lisa’ Marie’s former attorney from testifying in the upcoming divorce trial, However, he wants information so he would not be unfairly surprised. Lisa Marie Presley claimed in July 27 court docs that the postnup is completely valid and enforceable because prior to signing she and Lockwood along with their lawyers discussed and negotiated at great length before drawing up and signing the final agreement papers.

This postnup agreement clearly states that both Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood agreed that they each waived their rights to receive spousal support and was fully aware of all of Presley’s assets before their marriage according to LMP’s lawyer Gary Fishbein. It was also made clear that Lisa Marie Presley would obtain everything at the time as her separate property. As previously reported, Lisa Marie Presley has admitted in court and publicly that she is broke, and that all of her Elvis Presley inheritance money is long gone.

Lisa Marie Presley is currently attending Elvis Presley Week 2018 festivities in Memphis Tennessee which will also include the upcoming 41st anniversary and candlelight ceremony honoring her late father Elvis Presley who died on August 16, 1977. She is also reportedly planning a tour with a Elvis Presley hologram.

It was a family affair Saturday at Graceland as throngs of fans made their way to Memphis to mark the 41st anniversary of Elvis Presley’s passing. The festivities were highlighted by the presence of Presley’s only child, daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who was on hand to discuss the release of the new Elvis album “Where No One Walks Alone,” which celebrates her father’s love of gospel music.

The weekend event followed a Friday morning ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new exhibit called “Growing Up Presley.” Focusing on Lisa Marie’s own story and her efforts to continue her father’s legacy, the event coincided with her appearance on NBC’s “Today."

Elvis Week 2018: Concerts, panels, candlelight vigil highlight packed slate

In the interview with Jenna Bush Hager, the 50-year-old Presley spoke openly about her personal struggles in recent years – which include a nasty and public divorce/custody battle with her fourth husband Michael Lockwood, and a $100 million lawsuit against her former business manager.

During the segment, Presley also revealed that she’d overcome a drug addiction. “I was not happy,” she told Hager. “And by the way, the struggle and addiction for me, started when I was 45 years old. It wasn’t like it was happening all my life.”

Perhaps in light of this, Saturday’s daytime presentation at the Graceland Soundstage was an unusually emotional event. Joining Lisa Marie were “Where No One Walks Alone” co-producers Joel Weinshanker, managing partner of Graceland holdings, and Memphis-bred singer and musician Andy Childs.

Released Friday, the album pairs some of Elvis’ classic gospel performances with newly recorded music. The record also features guest artists, including Darlene Love and Cissy Houston, and a duet with Lisa Marie on the album’s title track.

Along with the 50th anniversary celebration of the “68 Comeback Special,” the gospel record is one of the centerpieces of this year’s Elvis Week programming.

Weinshanker – the celebrity licensing magnate who partnered with Lisa Marie in the Graceland operation in 2013 – spoke about Elvis’ connection and affection for gospel.

“It was more than just music, it’s really what grounded him, made him feel what life was worth living for, to an extent,” said Weinshanker.

He also noted that Lisa Marie is “the most honest genuine person I’ve ever met in my entire life. I don’t know if you watched the ‘Today’ show interview yesterday. She’s just so brave and so honest with her fans and so honest with people. It’s really hard not to want to help her,” said Weinshanker of the genesis of the “Where No One Walks Alone” record. “I called her up…and said this crazy thought came to me that this record is that help. She said to me ‘I’ve been thinking the same thing.’”

Presley noted that the Hollywood recording session with Childs to cut her part of the duet came amidst a particularly turbulent time in her life.

“It was like how do I get this day planned in the middle of – I’m sorry – multiple [expletive] storms,” she said. “I needed a break for a second just to do it. I remember thinking: why am I doing this? But I did it – and, for me, it was super emotional.”

Elvis Week programming will continue through next weekend. Highlights include a gospel concert on Tuesday night, and a gospel panel Wednesday morning. The annual candlelight vigil is set for Wednesday evening at Graceland.

Elvis Presley's daughter cruelly trolled amid Lorraine interview https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz...today-Elvis-Presley-songs-daughter-Lisa-Marie

LISA Marie Presley faced the wrath of trolls as she appeared on ITV show Lorraine today.

Elvis Presley's daughter was on ITV's Lorraine to talk about a new Elvis compilation, in which she sings a re-imagined duet with the star.

However, Lisa Marie Presley, 50, was cruelly trolled as she was interviewed by Lorraine Kelly's co-star Ross King.

Many viewers took to Twitter to bash the star during her interview.

One cruelly blasted: "For the love of god Lisa Marie! You look ****ed!

Twitter user
Another added: "Cashing in on his name since the day she was born. Get a f**king job, love."

A third chimed in: "Daughter of Elvis, ex-wife of Michael Jackson, yet about as interesting as watching paint dry."

While a fourth added: "Instructions on Lisa Marie Presley's lipstick read 'Lips are only a rough guide'.

Lisa performs an imagined version of Where No One Stands Alone with her late father in the new compilation with the same name.

The record celebrates Elvis' love of gospel music.

During the interview, Ross, 56, asked Lisa if she still "talks" to her dad, who passed away in 1977.

She replied: "I wouldn't say I talk to him. I just think about the memories."

Lisa also said she is planning to write a book about her life when she finds the time.

Lisa Marie Presley reveals she 'still speaks to late father Elvis' as she discusses her emotional posthumous duet with the iconic singer

Lisa Marie Presley admitted she 'occasionally' asks her late father Elvis Presley for help in a candid interview on ITV's Lorraine on Monday.

The 50-year-old singer-songwriter doesn't often talk to her famous dad - who died of Myocardial infarction in 1977 - but she will reach out to him when she feels like she needs some guidance because she feels 'very connected' to him.

Speaking on the daytime show, Lisa said of their duet Where No One Stands Alone: 'I just felt really emotional. It's never pleasant to sing and cry. I had to keep my composure, but I felt very connected to him and to the song.'

The singer explained: 'I wouldn't say I talk to [him], I just remember everything and I can just sort of pull out of the files whatever memory I have and stuff like that and occasionally ask for help... which was the case with this record. I felt like a hand came down to me.'

Lisa has always felt a strong bond with her father but she has admitted her belief was reinstated when she saw a quote from him during a new family exhibit.

She admitted: 'There was a quote on the wall as I was leaving the exhibit it said something like, "Becoming a father is the best thing that's ever happened to me".

'I'd never see it before. It kind of reinstates what I felt was the truth, which is that. I felt like I was the most important thing to him. He would protect me. That's the protection I had and ever had, especially recently, that he'd absolutely protect me.'

Lisa is planning to write an autobiography in the near future, which will document her childhood and her relationship with Elvis, but she's busy doing fiction at the moment.

She said: 'I will absolutely do one. I just don't know when.

'I haven't had time to think about that. I'm still in the middle of a psychological thriller right now, when it's over maybe I can write it.'

The brunette beauty's 29-year-old daughter Riley Keough - her child with Danny Keough - has followed in her grandfather's footsteps and carved out a career in showbiz but Lisa would have never let her pursue it if she wasn't intelligent.

She said of Riley: 'I felt like Riley had a really good head on her shoulders. If I had a child that did not, and didn't seem to be strong in themselves, I wouldn't allow it.

'Riley was absolutely like, 'I'm going to model for money and then I'm going to act, and then I'm going to be a director'.

'She had a plan and did everything she said she was going to do. I wouldn't do that though if I felt there was uncertainty or vulnerability or a weakness, I'd have them home until 18.'

Lisa Marie Presley’s estranged husband says he didn’t read prenup before signing it https://www.pe.com/2018/08/13/lisa-...ing-it/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

LOS ANGELES — Lisa Marie Presley’s estranged husband testified Monday that he never understood when he signed two versions of a postnuptial agreement she presented him in 2007 that he was giving up any chance of getting spousal support if they divorced.

Michael Lockwood said that although he penned his signature on the documents in July and November 2007, he did not read them before doing so.

“Had I read this, I wouldn’t have signed it,” Lockwood said while glancing at one of the documents during questioning by Presley’s attorney, Gary Fishbein. “I think it’s unfair.”

Asked by Fishbein if he typically signed contracts without reading them first, Lockwood — a musician, producer and writer — replied, “For what I do for a living, this isn’t something I can wrap my head around. I don’t understand how you understand it.”

“You’re not interested in knowing what’s in an agreement that can affect your marital relationships?” Fishbein asked.

“Correct,” Lockwood answered.

Presley, 50, listened to Lockwood’s testimony without showing any emotion. She and Lockwood, her fourth husband and the father of her 9-year-old twin daughters, met in 2003 when she hired him as musical director for her band and for her first record and they married in Japan in 2006.

She paid him $3,500 weekly and continued to do so even when he wasn’t performing any tasks for her so he would not work for anyone else, Lockwood said.

Presley, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court in June 2016.

A non-jury trial of the issues is taking place before Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman.

Asked by Fisbhein if he knew the extent of Presley’s finances, Lockwood replied, “I knew she had some wealth, I didn’t know how much.”

Questioned about the same issue later by his lawyer, Jeff Sturman, Lockwood answered, “I knew she had a house, I knew who her father was, that she could support her career and pay for her band.”

Lockwood said he also didn’t read or understand a prenuptial agreement he signed before the couple’s marriage. When Presley raised the issue of a postnuptial agreement in January 2007 after they had been married for less than a year, she didn’t explain what the document meant, he said.

In his opening statement, Fishbein said Lockwood contradicted himself by saying he didn’t read the postnuptial documents or understand them. The lawyer said the only way Lockwood would know if he didn’t comprehend the agreement was if he tried to read it.

“What he wants is money from Ms. Presley, that’s the bottom line,” Fishbein said.

But Sturman told the judge that Presley is trying to get an unfair advantage over her estranged spouse and leave him financially strapped.

“She wants him in the streets. She’s fine if he has nothing,” Sturman said.

He spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, possibly millions, on my credit card’: Lisa Marie Presley accuses estranged husband Michael Lockwood of SECRETLY running up bills as she takes the stand in in bitter divorce battle. https://www.google.com.au/amp/www.d...-Michael-Lockwood-SECRETLY-running-bills.html

Monday was the first day of the expected four-day trial at LA Superior Court
Lisa Marie Presley said her husband didn't deny running up credit card bills
She testified that she asked Lockwood to sign a 'post-nup' a year after they wed
Presley claims Lockwood agreed she would not have to pay spousal support
Lockwood wants court to invalidate post-nup because he was left with nothing

He says he 'couch-surfed' for two years while earning $2,000 a month
Lockwood admitted that if he read the agreement, 'I wouldn't have signed it'
Lisa Marie Presley took the witness stand in her divorce trial Monday and accused her estranged husband, Michael Lockwood, of secretly running up 'possibly millions' on her credit card.

'I uncovered that he had been in control of finances for the 10 years before,' she told Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman at Los Angeles Superior on the first day of the expected four-day trial.

'He had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, possibly millions on my credit card.’

When Presley angrily confronted musician Lockwood in March 2016, three months before she filed for divorce, he didn’t deny running up the credit card bills, she said.

And she insisted that he sign an agreement consenting to sell all his guitars, recording equipment, computers and other musical equipment to help make up for some of the credit card losses.

'It allowed me to pay off some of the Tennessee state taxes I owed,' she added.

Presley hired Lockwood for $3,500 a week as her musical director for her upcoming concert tour, in 2014 and married him two years later.

In court Monday, she had trouble recalling the time of that marriage, her fourth.

When Lockwood’s attorney, Jeff Sturman asked her the date she got married she replied, 'I don’t recall the date.'

And when Sturman asked her, 'Do you remember what year?' she answered, 'I believe it was 2007.'

In fact she married Lockwood in Japan in January 2006.

Presley told the court that before they married, she and Lockwood discussed having a pre-nup agreement but none was ever signed.

Then, the year after they married, she asked him to sign a post-nup agreement 'to protect her assets and her inheritance.'

He added that he agreed to sell all his musical equipment 'to appease her.'

Presley admitted that she did pay spousal support to her first husband, Danny Keough, when they divorced but she added, with a chuckle, that she didn’t have to pay support to husband number 2, Michael Jackson, or husband number 3, actor Nicholas Cage.

Earlier in the day, giving his version of the couple’s fight over the credit card in March 2016, Lockwood told the court that Presley 'was extremely upset. We were having an argument about a credit card.

Presley told the court that before they married, she and Lockwood discussed having a pre-nup agreement but none was ever signed.

Asked by his lawyer, Sturman, why he signed the post-nup in 2007, Lockwood said: 'Because my wife wanted me to.'

He said she became angry when he first hesitated to sign after his lawyer told him there were possible issues in the agreement that needed to be sorted out.

But he signed anyway, he said.

'She’s not a take-no-for-an-answer kind of woman,' he said of his soon-to-be-ex wife.

Asked if he would like the court to find that the pre-nup agreement is invalid, he added, 'I believe it’s something the court should decide.'

Lockwood told the court that when he and Presley separated in June 2016, he had nowhere to go so he first stayed in a Holiday Inn, then 'couch-surfed' for about two years, and has been making around $2,000-$2,500 a month working as a store clerk, a factory worker, teaching guitar and playing guitar in session recordings.

He said that he’s now living with his girlfriend Stephanie to whom he’s engaged to be married.

The revelation prompted Presley’s attorney to ask, 'Do you know that when you re-marry you would lose the spousal support from your previous marriage? Does that change your mind about getting married again?'

Lockwood answered, 'I don’t know about that.'

Presley - who was in court in a black dress and beige coat and ankle boots - said she doesn’t want to pay up and, countered Lockwood’s attorney, Sturman: 'She’s feeling angry and vindictive. She wants him on the street. She’s fine if he has nothing.'

Earlier in his opening statement, Presley's lawyer Fishbein told Judge Gould-Saltman that he found it 'incredible and unbelievable' that Lockwood’s 'position is that he didn’t read the post-nuptial agreement - which he signed twice.'

Lockwood's lawyer accused the daughter of the late singer Elvis Presley of 'feeling angry and vindictive' at his client and 'wanting him on the street'.

'You don’t need to have graduated from MIT to understand that you are waiving spousal support,' added Fishbein who also questioned Lockwood’s contention that when he signed the post-nup, his attorney - now deceased - didn’t explain it to him.

'This attorney had been practicing law since 1956 - he had more than 40 years experience in family law.

'Now Lockwood is trying to get out from under a agreement he voluntarily agreed to and signed. He wants a chunk of cash and a bunch of spousal support.’

Lockwood’s attorney, Sturman hit back telling the court that Presley, her lawyers and business manager took an 'unfair advantage' of Lockwood when they persuaded him to sign the post-nup.

'They cooked the books - they wanted him to sign something they thought could be enforceable later on.'

Despite the post-nup Sturman told the court, 'Spouses have a fiduciary (financial) duty to each other.

'Miss Presley is living off her inherited wealth….and Mr Lockwood has little or nothing. He is living at the poverty level. (Presley) is feeling angry and vindictive. She wants him on the street. She’s fine if he has nothing.'

Lockwood - who wore a blue suit and tie and a black shirt in court Monday - told Fishbein under questioning that didn’t remember signing the prenup.

'I don’t really understand contracts,' he said, adding that he didn’t find 'contracts and legalese interesting.'

But, he continued: 'Had I read it I would not have signed it…I think it’s unfair.'

The trial continues.

Famed Singer’s Daughter Testifies in Spousal Support Dispute https://mynewsla.com/hollywood/2018...aughter-testifies-in-spousal-support-dispute/

Lisa Marie Presley testified Monday that her estranged husband never balked at signing two versions of a postnuptial agreement in 2007 that barred him from seeking spousal support if the couple divorced.

The 50-year-old daughter of singer Elvis Presley — who died 41 years ago at age 42 — said Michael Lockwood’s only hesitation came after he called and said his attorney at the time had expressed concerns about the document.

“He was freaked out by what he was advised by his attorney,” Presley said. “I said I didn’t understand why.”

Presley said she never pressured him to sign the agreement by threatening to file for divorce if he refused to do so.

Asked by her lawyer, Gary Fishbein, if the spousal support waiver was important to her, Presley replied, “Very.”

Lockwood, a musician, producer and writer, listened to Presley’s testimony without displaying any emotion. Lockwood, the father of Presley’s 9-year-old twin daughters, met her in 2003 when she hired him as musical director for her band and for her first record. They got married in Japan in 2006.

Lockwood testified that she paid him $3,500 weekly and continued to do so even when he wasn’t performing any tasks for her so he would not work for anyone else.

The only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court in June 2016, and a non-jury trial of the issues surrounding the break-up of her fourth marriage is taking place before Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman.

Presley answered many of the questions posed to her by Fishbein and Lockwood’s lawyer, Jeff Sturman, by saying, “I don’t recall,” including when Fishbein asked her what year she wed Lockwood.

Presley said she sold guitars and musical items belonging to Lockwood after he ran up excessive debt on her credit card. She at first said the amount was in the thousands of dollars, but later said it was in the millions.

Presley said she did pay spousal support to her first husband, Danny Keough, but not to subsequent spouses Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.

Lockwood testified that he never understood when he signed the two versions of the postnuptial agreement she presented him in July and November 2007 that he was giving up any chance of getting spousal support if they divorced. He also said he did not read the documents before penning his signature on them.

“Had I read this, I wouldn’t have signed it,” Lockwood said while glancing at one of the documents during questioning by Fishbein. “I think it’s unfair.”

Asked by Fishbein if he typically signed contracts without reading them first, Lockwood replied, “For what I do for a living, this isn’t something I can wrap my head around. I don’t understand how you understand it.”

“You’re not interested in knowing what’s in an agreement that can affect your marital relationships?,” Fishbein asked.

“Correct,” Lockwood answered.

Asked by Fishbein if he knew the extent of Presley’s finances, Lockwood replied, “I knew she had some wealth, I didn’t know how much.”

Lockwood is engaged to his girlfriend and plans to marry her after his divorce from Presley is finalized. Asked if he understood that any spousal support he could be awarded would be cut off under normal circumstances if he remarried, Lockwood said he was unaware what would happen.

Lisa Marie Presley Testifies In Nasty Divorce — Accuses Ex Of Stealing ‘Millions’
Elvis' daughter and former husband Michael Lockwood face off in court.

The ongoing battle between Lisa Marie Presley and her estranged husband Michael Lockwood played out in a Los Angeles court as Elvis’ famous daughter testified her ex stole “millions” from her — and claimed he shouldn’t receive any spousal support, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

During her testimony at Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, August 14, Presley said she believed Lockwood reviewed the postnuptial agreement before he signed it on November 2007.

When asked by Lockwood’s attorney Jeff Sturman on whether she thought it was fair that Lockwood did not receive any spousal support if their marriage ended, Presley answered, “Correct.”

“You thought it was fair because you would not have wanted a man who wanted money from you, had you known if he was that way, right?” Sturman asked Presley.

“Not true,” Presley answered.

At the heart of the legal drama between the feuding exes is whether or not the postnuptial agreement signed by Presley and Lockwood is valid. Both sides appeared before Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman on Tuesday to argue over the validity of that agreement.

Presley filed for divorce from Lockwood on June 2016 after 10 years of marriage. They have two twin 9-year old daughters, Harper and Finley.

Presley’s attorney, Gary Fishbein, said in court filings that Lockwood knew he was forgoing spousal support from Presley when he signed the agreement. Lockwood is only now “claiming ignorance,” even when he had a chance to negotiate the postnuptial agreement before signing, Fishbein wrote in an affidavit.

However, Sturman claimed that Presley’s former attorney, Jane Saltsman, allegedly withheld information related to the agreement and took “unfair advantage” of Lockwood.

At Tuesday’s hearing, however, Saltsman testified she had multiple communications with Lockwood’s then attorney, Alan Neiman, concerning the postnuptual agreement. She testified that Neiman told her that Lockwood was “fine” with the agreement, which said Lockwood would not receive spousal support or community properties.

The only thing Lockwood wanted changed in the agreement concerned proceeds from the music the former couple had created together, Saltsman testified.

During her testimony, Presley also said Lockwood had run up her credit card bills into “millions of dollars,” and she only found out about the charges around November 2015. She said she considered those charges as money owed to her by Lockwood, which he has not paid back.

However, when asked by Sturman if Lockwood’s name appeared on the divorce filings that lists their community assets and outstanding debts, Presley said no.

“If she believed she was owned millions of dollars by Michael Lockwood, she would have put that down as an asset,” Sturman told Radar exclusively after the hearing. “That would suggest she didn’t believe there was a such debt owed to her. … One day she says he stole thousands of dollars from her, the next she says ‘millions.’ That is consistent with the way she has testified: she is consistently inconsistent.”

Fishbein declined to comment about the hearing.

The hearing concerning the validity of the postnuptial agreement will continue at Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.

EXCLUSIVE: Lisa Marie Presley denies paying Michael Lockwood to sign a post-nuptial agreement that would give him nothing if they split - on second day of their bitter divorce trial

Lockwood wants court to invalidate the post-nup because he was left with nothing and claims he was coerced into signing it

Lisa Marie Presley has denied paying her husband to sign a post-nuptial agreement that gave him nothing if they split up, a court heard Tuesday.

Presley, who was in the witness box at LA Superior Court on the second day of her divorce trial in Los Angeles, was dressed in a black dress under a black velvet coat covered with rhinestones.

Elvis's daughter was questioned by her estranged husband Michael Lockwood's attorney, Jeff Sturman, about the post-nup in which both gave up claims to each other's property and spousal support.

'Did you pay Michael any money in 2007 (when the post-nup was signed by both) to waive his claim to spousal support?' asked Sturman. 'Not to my recollection,' Presley, 50, replied.

She also denied giving Lockwood any property, or promising 'to do anything for him in the future', in order to persuade him to sign the post-nup.

When Sturman added, 'In 2007 you thought it was fair that if the marriage ended Michael would not get spousal support?' Lisa Marie answered, 'Correct.'

Cross-examining Presley on her court claim on Monday that she discovered Lockwood had run up 'possibly millions' on her credit card, Sturman asked her, 'Do you consider that money is owed to you by Michael?' 'Yes,' she replied.

'Did he pay you off?', 'No,' said Presley again.

Sturman contested her answer, producing a document related to Presley's financial assets and liabilities which she acknowledged signing a year after discovering the credit card charges.

'There is nothing on this document that indicates that Michael owed you a thing,' he said.

Earlier in court on Tuesday, Jane Saltsman, the attorney Presley hired in 2007 to draw up the post-nup, told Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman that when she spoke with Lockwood's lawyer at the time, Alan Neiman, he told her that Lockwood had no objections to the wording of the agreement.

'He was fine with no community property and he was fine with no spousal support,' she said.

Lockwood signed the first post-nup in July 2007 but asked for a clause to be added giving shared rights to him and Presley for any music they created together during their marriage.

That clause was added to the original post-nup and they both signed the second version in November that year.

Both Presley, 50, and Lockwood, 57, signed the post-nup a year after their January 2006 wedding when Presley was worth almost $63 million and Lockwood's net worth was zero.

Lockwood, wants the document torn up, calling it invalid because, he claims, he was coerced into signing it, he didn't read it properly, his lawyer at the time - who has since died - didn't explain the agreement to him, and he doesn't remember the period when the post-nup was negotiated and signed.

But Presley's attorney, Gary Fishbein, has fought back in court papers filed at LA Superior Court, accusing Lockwood of 'feigning amnesia or ignorance' and saying he 'had the full and complete opportunity to negotiate the terms of the agreement, was competently represented by counsel… and entered into the agreement freely and voluntarily, without duress or coercion.'

On Monday, Presley took the witness stand and accused Lockwood, of secretly running up 'possibly millions' on her credit card.

'I uncovered that he had been in control of finances for the 10 years before,' she told Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman at Los Angeles Superior on the first day of the expected four-day trial.

'He had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, possibly millions on my credit card.'

Presley hired Lockwood for $3,500 a week as her musical director for her upcoming concert tour, in 2014 and married him two years later.

In court Monday, she had trouble recalling the time of that marriage, her fourth.

When Lockwood's attorney, Jeff Sturman asked her the date she got married she replied, 'I don't recall the date.'

And when Sturman asked her, 'Do you remember what year?' she answered, 'I believe it was 2007.'

In fact, she married Lockwood in Japan in January 2006.

Presley told the court that before they married, she and Lockwood discussed having a pre-nup agreement but none was ever signed.

Then, the year after they married, she asked him to sign a post-nup agreement 'to protect her assets and her inheritance.'
To support his argument that Lockwood voluntarily agreed to sign the post-nup twice - in July and November 2007 - Presley's lawyer Gary Fishbein asked her: 'Did he (Lockwood) express any objections to signing the pre-nuptial agreement? Did you hold a gun to his head? Did you threaten to leave him if he didn't sign?'

Presley answered 'No' to all three questions.

And when Fishbein asked her, 'Did he tell you that he never wanted anything from you,' she answered, 'Yes, he did.'

When Fishbein asked her if the spousal support clause of the pre-nup - in which both she and Lockwood agreed not to seek spousal support from the other if they divorced - was important to her, Presley said, 'Very.'

Presley admitted that she did pay spousal support to her first husband, Danny Keough, when they divorced but she added, with a chuckle, that she didn't have to pay support to husband number 2, Michael Jackson, or husband number 3, actor Nicholas Cage.

Lockwood answered, 'I don't know about that.'

Presley - who was in court in a black dress and beige coat and ankle boots - said she doesn't want to pay up and, countered Lockwood's attorney, Sturman: 'She's feeling angry and vindictive. She wants him on the street. She's fine if he has nothing.'

Lisa Marie Says She Felt Elvis Presley’s Helping Hand When Recording (Extended Interview)| Lorraine

Lisa Marie Presley Fires Back At Ex In Court, Accuses Him Of Stealing Millions From Herhttp://www.hollywoodnewsdaily.com/2...cuses-him-of-stealing-millions-from-her/13179

Lisa Marie Presley has just about had it with her soon-to-be ex-fourth husband Michael Lockwood. The former couple has been hashing out their whole divorce since 2016 and it is becoming just too much. Radar Online reports that Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood faced off in court earlier today and it was not a pleasant meeting. Lockwood has been downright accusing Lisa Marie of hiding money and intentionally lying in court to keep from paying him the alimony he believes he is entitled to.

However, Lisa Marie testified in a Los Angeles court that Michael Lockwood had stolen millions of dollars from her throughout the course of their marriage and feels strongly due to that fact alone he is NOT Entitled to any spousal support from her. Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie stated in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, that she believed Lockwood reviewed the post nuptial agreement before he signed it on November 2007.

Lockwood’s lawyer then asked Presley whether she thought that it was fair that his client did not receive any spousal support if their marriage ended and Lisa replied, “correct.”

“You thought it was fair because you would not have wanted a man who wanted money from you, had you known if he was that way, right?” Sturman asked Presley.

“Not true,” Presley answered.

The divorce drama is sizzling now and the big question to be answered now is whether or not the postnuptial agreement signed by Presley and Lockwood is valid.

Gary Fishbein, LMP’s lawyer stated in the court filings that Michael Lockwood knew he was forgoing spousal support from Presley when he signed the agreement. Lockwood is only now “claiming ignorance,” even when he had a chance to negotiate the postnuptial agreement before signing, Fishbein wrote in an affidavit.

Lisa also stated during her testimony that Lockwood had run up “millions of dollars” in credit card bills, charges that she had only found about in November of 2015. She said she considered those charges as money owed to her by Lockwood, which he has not paid back.

“If she believed she was owed millions of dollars by Michael Lockwood, she would have put that down as an asset,” Sturman stated to Radar exclusively following the explosive hearing.

“That would suggest she didn’t believe there was such debt owed to her. … One day she says he stole thousands of dollars from her, the next she says ‘millions.’ That is consistent with the way she has testified: she is consistently inconsistent.”

Fishbein declined to comment about the hearing. The hearing will continue in the Los Angeles courts on Wednesday. It has been a long and tiring week for Lisa Marie Presley, who, as previously reported has spent the last several days in Memphis during Elvis Presley Week 2018 meeting with fans of her late father.

During the week as previously reported, Lisa Marie Presley took place in several of the activities. She also took place in an interview on ITV’s Lorraine to talk about a new Elvis Presley compilation future plans. Sadly, Lisa Marie Presley was reportedly cruelly mocked and trolled on social media during the interview.

It did not take long before Elvis Presley fans across the globe found out about the cruel mocking and took to Twitter also posting words of encouragement and praise for the music legends daughter.

Lisa Marie Presley is expected to return to Memphis on Thursday, August 16th for the 41st anniversary of her father Elvis Presley’s death anniversary and the annual candlelight vigil ceremony. Get all the latest Elvis Presley Family News Updates today.
