Michael - The Lyrics

Monster (He's like an animal)
He's a monster (Just like an animal)
He's an animal (And he's gold, baby, Yeah)

No way that is "and he's gold, baby, yeah"

Sounds more like "and he's moving in the air."

maybe a reference to helicopters used by media. But I'm not sold on that either. But I don't hear "gold" or "baby."

Why are they never satisfied (Why are they) (satisfied)
With and all you give (Ye-Ye-Ye-Yeah) (Aah)
You give 'em your all
They're watching you fall
And they eat your soul (AaAh)

Missing a line here....should be...

And they eat your soul (AaAh) (like a vegetable)

Sort of a play on "Like a vegetable" from wanna be startin' something. But clearly the backing vocals carry on from "And they eat your soul" to "like a vegetable."

From 50's rap.

"it's goes on and on, its goes on and on (Haa)"

Should be "IT" goes on and on, "IT" goes on and on.

no "s"

keep on dreaming there's nowhere to run
you can drive but you done
I can feel it in the air, here the monster come.

I don't think it's "DRIVE" i think it's "TRY"

"You can TRY but you done"

Monster (Aah) (Say you wanna be a star)
He's a monster (Say what you would go for)
He's an animal (Why they keep on stalkin' me) (AAh)

I don't think this is right: (Say what you would go for)

I think it follows the first line (Say you WANNA go far)

ALSO

He's an animal (Why they keep on stalkin' me) (AAh)

Might be.... (Why you keep on stalkin' me)

Monster (What you do to me)
He's a monster (Why you do it, why you ???)
He's an animal (Yeeah) (Why you ?stalkin'? me)

On the second line I think the adlib is......."Why you take it, why you fake it."

Hollywood tonight

WHAT YOU HAVE

She just came out off my Life to follow her dreams
Left behind everything for the movie scene
And the more she ??? she was to ??? to follow her plan
She wanted Hollywood, she wanted it bad

WHAT I HEAR

She (gave up her life) to follow her dreams
Left behind everything for the movie scene
And the more she could want she was determined to follow her plan
She wanted Hollywood, she wanted it bad

HOLLYWOOD TONIGHT

WHAT YOU HAVE

Another she got a dream, she became a star
It looked so got, but only good from a far
In prison in every paparazzi's camera ?evert kind of wish? they could
That's bad reality from this Hollywood

WHAT I HEAR

(NOW THAT SHE GOT HER) dream, she became a star
It (ALL) looked so got, but only good from a far
(IMPRISONED) in every paparazzi's camera, (EVERY GUY WISH THEY COULD)
(NOW IT'S BACK TO REALITY FOR MISS HOLLYWOOD)

The way you love me
(2000, written by Michael Jackson)

Eh, this is the tempo
And this is the melody
"I was alone in the dark when I met ya", drum

*beatboxing*

??? that, OK?

I was alone in the dark when I met ya (Uuuhuuh)
You took my hand and you told me you loved me (Uuuhuuh)

In your red bold part, it sounds to me that MJ is saying,
"Like that. You know?"

I'm pretty sure that in addition to singing "Why you stalkin' me?" he also sings "Why you Hawkin' me"

Slang for stalking, hounding, following, etc.

that is what i also heard. but havent know what word it was.
thanks :)

It is weird SONY has put wrong lyrics to HT in the booklet.

MJ doesn't sing "Because she's only fifteen"

{together}
Hold my hand [Baby I promise that I'll do] (Hold my hand)
All I can (Things will get better if you just)
Hold my hand [Nothing can come between us if you just] (Ooh)
Hold my, hold my, hold my hand [Hold, Hold, Hooold]
(Hold my hand)

I think it's "Things will GO better.....

hey, good ears you have. :D
akon always sung "GET" on the previous verisons. mike is singing "GO".
great find. :)
thanks!

buh, hard. but simple after hearing it again, again, again...

and he's gold ba by yeah (4 syllable, hope thats the right word for this)

and he's mov ing in the air (5 syllable)

and when you listen you will hear
tak tak tak tak tak (5x)
5 syllables

so i think you are right.

i can clearly hear 'they'

but something is wrong with this line

keep on dreaming there's nowhere to run
you can drive but you done
I can feel it in the air, here the monster come.

yeah, sounds plausible to me.

now i hear:

She JUST gave up her life to follow her dreams
there is 100% something between "she" and "just"
i think its JUST.

And the more she could want she was determined to follow her plan
yup. now complete. thanks.

Mama say, mama got you in a zig-zag?

what does this mean !?

Mama say, mama got you in a zig-zag?

what does this mean !?

It wouldn't be an MJ song if it didn't leave you asking in Gary Coleman style "Whatchu talkin' 'bout Mikey????"

lol

But "got you in a zig-zag" means, I think, that you're going back and forth, this way and that way, trying to elude, maybe, or simply being confused.

It is weird SONY has put wrong lyrics to HT in the booklet.

MJ doesn't sing "Because she's only fifteen"

The original lyrics probably were that but he didn't sing it and record companies do a poor job of matching actual sung lyrics with the lyrics sheet.

Does anyone here remember when the original vinyl of Thriller had all sorts of errors for Billie Jean's lyrics. Entire versus missing, etc.

they obviously didn't listen to the song before printing the lyrics. Same here.

me again, still trying to figure out the meaning of the lyrics from MICHAEL and since we already discuss it here, I won't make another thread.
So, I hope you can help me to understand Monster

Them = monsters, he = monster? Paparazzi=monster?
You can look at them, coming out the walls
You can look at them, climbing out the bushes
You can find 'em, when the letter's 'bout to fall
He be waitin' with his camera on focus

what does the phrase got you jumping like you should mean? Like: acting like that? Can't find it.

Honestly, I think "should" simply rhymes with '"wood" in Hollywood so it sounds good.

It would mean you're jumpy or skittish so you're jumpin' like you're scared of the monsters. lol

wow  , thanx alot !

Monster
(2007, written by Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio, James Porte)

He's comin' at ya, comin' at ya rather too fast
Mama say, mama got you in a zig-zag
And you're running, and you're running just to scape it
But they're gunning for the money, so they fake it

STATUS: incomplete

Scape refers to an antenna on an insect. I doubt very seriously the word he is saying is "scape."

The obvious context of the sentence would lead to the word "Escape." But he sings it very quickly so it sounds like "scape."

But the Lyric is "ESCAPE."

Again, "Scape" makes zero sense and "Escape" makes perfect sense.

Now that she got her dream, she became a star
It all looked so good, but only good from a far
Imprisoned in every paparazzi's camera every guy wish they could
Now it's back to reality for Miss Hollywood

For miss Hollywood

or to reality from this hollywood?

I'm personally hearing "just escape, babe" instead of "just to scape it".
I also think this is making more sense.

and I'm also hearing "Why you take it, why you fake it" (ad-libs towards the end)

but I wasn't 100% sure when I wrote them down and it wasn't that audible in the earlier mix.

This can only be heard in the album version of "Monster". The earlier mix doesn't feature the background singing "like a vegetable".

I can also confirm "hawkin' " instead of "stalkin' " in SOME lines. I was unable to detect which word it is.

Also there's sth wrong with the ending. One line for sure is:
"It's dragging you down like a monster"

BUT what word is he saying in the 2nd line instead of "dragging"?
