Pete Burns (Dead or Alive frontman) talks about MJ in his book

I

]But Michael, what the hell has he got? He's stuck in a world which doesn't understand him. People want to relate and be related to so that they don't feel alone, so that they can escape loneliness[. With Michael, it's not only his life circumstance that makes him different, but also the way he thinks and he's been scrutanized and ridiculed by the world because of this since forever. I can't even imagine the kind of pain that brings. But I could see it on Michael from the first time I ever really payed attention to him.

So I think Pete knows what he's talking about.

reminds me of the prime time interview in 195, after he says they found nothing, nothing nothing! the look in his eyes like... are you gonna f.... listen! and of frustration.

A complex person
Simple minds can't understand.

A supportive bit of writing by Pete Burns, but I don't think he fully understands Michael, as some of what he's written seems more about himself that Michael when it comes to looks. As for his view of the trial I think he fully understands Michael and seems like a very loyal fans. Pete Burns looks freakish to me, but I have respect for him as he is a very intelligent man.

I wouldn't say Michael's Non-Sexual. Michael seems very sexual in my view, but he's someone who want to flaunt his hetrosexuality, and Michael's not the streotype of the black man with women every where. Michael strikes me as fairly conservative on keep sex private, I mean look at all that hetrosexual porn that Michael owns that was used in his trial. And Lisa Marie Presley said her relationship with Michael was sexual. I don't know how often Michael has sex, I just presume the women he has relations with are the ones who keep it private. I'd say the song In The Closet say's a lot about Michael attidude to sex and that's a very sexual song.

I don't see how Michael looks as a "statemant". Michael just looks the way he wants to and that's it. You could say that many men and women have masculine and feminine parts of there face. Michael may sometimes have a fairy feminine hairstyle, but his face is that of a man with a soft face. When I look at Michael I see a man, not a hybrid of male/female.

Here's a question: do we all fully understand Mike at all times?

Mike gotta be one of the most complex characters I ever heard about. As much as we think we know MJ, I have a feeling we still don't know the full extent of Michael. It's easy to say what Pete said about him as we have our own opinions of him.

All Pete did in his book is write his own interpretation of how he sees Michael. I think he did a genious job. much better than many fans on message board. I too think MJ's make up is a work of art. I do not believe has had many plastic surgery. No more than the 2 he said, but I do believe that he uses studio makeup to change his looks and features. I have seen MJ with 2 or 3 different shape nose in about a week. look at the picture of MSG where MJ's nose is pencil straight, then look at 2003 at his christmas party where MJ seeingly had his origianl nose. Makes me think that MJ is messing with people with these make up sometimes.

Michael sure is complex. Very, very intelligent and multi-faceted in terms of personality. He's got more depth to him then anyone I think I've ever seen, and you really can't regard him or expect from him the same things as you would other people. He's not the same. He's a special person, and very different.

I agree It's impossible to fully understand Michael, reason being we don't know Michael Jackson on a day to day bases as just plain Michael or Mike. Quite often when "fans" (and that's all of us) speak about Michael we always but bits of ourselves in to how we feel Michael sees himself. Maybe our personal views are correct, and maybe they are wrong.

I see Pete Burns's view that Michael plastic surgery is "art" say's more about himself than Michael, because Pete Burns surgery appears to be about being neither male or female or even human because it's so extreme. People can say Michael's gone too far with his surgery (he looks very natural in real life), or whatever they want but he has eyes, nose and a mouth of a normal human not a botoxed face with lips that jut out too far, and an appearence where you can't tell if it's a transexual, cross dresser or a women. Which is how Pete Burns looks.

This Non Sexual things is also quite insulting in some respects. Because non sexual can mean, a person who has a repressed sexuality ....................... Also if a person is non sexual as in asexual that can still mean they desire love and romance of a women or a man but without the sex. Because asexual people don't have a strong sexual hormone, but they do have passion. Michael doesn't strike me as asexual, I think that comes across in his vocal performances of songs and stage performances. And Lisa Marie has said her relationship with Michael was sexual, and that she wouldn't marry a man who wasn't good in bed.

With Michael, I think he's the type of person know one will ever really know including family. I think he's just full of surprises with him being such a creative person, he's obviously going to be very deep and complex. But that doesn't mean what's deep and complex is going to be dark and repressed. I guess Michael stays away from a lot of people because their are always picking bits and pieces of him, asking him "why do you do this" and wanting him to be something he's not. And to a certain extent even us supportive "fans" do that. Michael has said that he finds it strange when fans say they love him, because they don't really know him. But they/we think they know him because they/we play his music and videos in their/our homes and have posters of him etc.

Nobody can really read in to what makes Michael Jackson the man he is, so of us have an idea through his music and various interviews. But put it this way, Michael had plastic surgery on his nose, because he wanted, I guess he didn't like the nose he was born with. But you can't really read in to anything more than that. The only reasons people do, is because it's taboo for a man to have surgery on his nose (Elvis, Sting, Dean Martin and Sly Stallone have and I'm sure more) and it's even more taboo for a black man to have his nose done which is way people read in it too much. It's just an operation to Michael and should be left at that. And as he said "Everyone in Hollywood has had surgery, Michael Jackson didn't invent it".

true.. true... Pete also seems little-over-obsessed with Michael...

he's never met the man but he puts him in his book???... but appreciate the support he gives him...

This MJ tidbit is at the end of the book, where there's a couple of paragraphs (like here) dedicated to loads of different music stars/celebrities, not just MJ, from Kylie Minogue to Elvis Presley. I've given the book back now, but there was a lot of interesting things he said about other peeps too, but being as this is an MJ board I just typed up his bit...
