I would add Man In The Mirror to that list tooXscape, Blue Gangsta. Unbreakable. Chicago 1945 is a great vocal take. Jam is a underrated one. As is Why You Wanna Trip on Me. And Can't Let Her Get Away. Speed Demon. Liberian Girl. Human Nature. Lady in my Life. Time Waits for No One.
And I Can't Help It is number one.
I would too but I hardly listen to itI would add Man In The Mirror to that list too
I would add.I’ve got Dirty Diana and Earth Song. What other examples do you have?
Very true.Almost every song demonstrates Michaels vocal prowess in a different way.
I feel like Michael often shifted to a higher gear when duetting. With Stevie, Get It is another showcase for Michael’s vocals. Same with Scream. It’s more apparent in up-tempo songs, I think.'Just Good Friends': not a special song but maybe that's why his vocals are actually more striking imo
Also the bridge in Heartbreaker. One of his best in my opinion:The whole bridge of Slave To The Rhythm is unearthly, seriously.
I wouldn't say any of those are actually great examples. They're catchy/pretty songs but I do think they'd be beautiful period. The story and the mood are what enrich.Good thread @Agonum my lovely rarwy comrade haha
Think Just Good Friends is a great example , like someone mentioned ... I will add ...She drives me wild. I can't let her get away .
Superfly Sister. Tabloid Junkie is alot where i hear it , And i would say We've had Enough , & Morphine too.
Great thread! i still win :
Yeah, bridge of Heartbreaker has amazing vocals and build up which is sadly, sadly, buried underneath the horrible mixing of it.Also the bridge in Heartbreaker. One of his best in my opinion:
I never thought that I would stop dreamin' about you
stop being without you
but everyone told me so, to stop caring about you
and start being without you
but I'll find a way to go and start doin' without you
and stop talkin' about you
and what will she say?
she will say I was the man that got away
I'd argue they're not supposed to be the same. The tones are totally different.I'd argue his vocals aren't in the same league as the Slave To The Rhythm one. Less power and drier vocals. But still a note worthy
She Drives Me Wild is a great choice. I love that one.Good thread @Agonum my lovely rarwy comrade haha
Think Just Good Friends is a great example , like someone mentioned ... I will add ...She drives me wild. can't let her get away .
"I tried to mastermind it
By saying 'let it be' -love the fury here.
But every time I did it
The hurt (i always think he says charge)came back at me
I told you that I need you(ya)
A thousand times and why(wh')
I played the fool for you
And still you said goodbye
Still you said goodbye"
Superfly Sister. Tabloid Junkie is alot where i hear it , And i would say We've had Enough , & Morphine too.
Great thread! i still win :
(But I still win.)
Yes. Sublime phrasings in Dangerous.Did we say The opening to Dangerous?
Then that.
"She came at me in sections
With the eyes of desire
I fell trapped into her
Web of sin
A touch, a kiss
A whisper of love
I was at the point
Of no return
Deep in the darkness of
Passion's insanity
I felt taken by lust's
Strange inhumanity
This girl was persuasive
This girl I could not trust
The girl was bad
The girl was dangerous
I never knew
But I was living in vain
She called my house
She said you know my name..."
Bit prowess esque to me.
@Agonum Yes i do drive people wild with my ....my.... win infinity !
