The list of people, you want to avoid.

»Didn't write most of his songs« – are you kidding? The guy’s an absolute star. You’re making a mountain out of a molehill with that Elton quote. Michael and Elton understood and respected each other very much (see the Blood on the Dance Floor dedication).
Some of you probably read Elton John's book, know about the chapter where talks about Michael, and that dinner at his house soon after he and David Furnish started dating. It's very consistent to this 1994 Barbara Walters interview he gave, where I've skipped to the part where they discuss Michael.

Walters broached Michael with Elton again 10 years later:

Keep in mind, I obviously wasn't necessarily saying a message of saying I agreed fully with Elton's comments to Walters.

Of course, remember, Elton doesn't outright demonize Michael either, and even admits "I don't know the story." He just says, "If that was me, I would've fought like hell," and he talks about his past experience fighting the false allegations brought against him by The Sun. Of course it probably would reflect better if Elton did learn more about Michael's case, but he's certainly not required to, and he has his own life to live.

It's also notable, however, that Michael dedicated Blood On The Dance Floor to Elton and considered him a friend because of those horrible days of him withdrawing from the painkillers. Much the same way Michael still considered Paul and Linda McCartney to be friends of his even long after they'd stopped having contact with each other.

It's ruefully funny these people (and to be fair, a number of "standard" VH fans) look at Eddie as a conniving, Machiavellian figure. If anything, his real sin was blunt honesty and being tactless about it. I certainly consider that more consistent and believable than whatever Dave and Sammy have said, given how often they (but especially Sammy) contradict themselves:

This is how I will always remember Eddie, like this:
The WORST is that all of these same fans are now going and giving Wolfgang Van Halen a shit ton of shit on social media because he doesn't want to give up Mammoth and reform VH with Alex, Michael Anthony and the three singers. These people are so fucking entitled it's not even funny.

It's like if MJ fans were to get mad at Paris for not doing all covers of her dad's music.

To be fair, even his own band were gobsmacked at the fact that A) Eddie didn't tell them he did the song before it came out, and B) he didn't want to be paid. David Lee Roth specifically said, "You're an idiot, Ed! YOU made that song what it is, not Michael. You're the one who should get the credit, you should've been paid, you should have the royalties!" Apparently many never got, and still never have gotten, the fact that Eddie simply just loved music for its own sake, and that that very fact, along with the fact he may very well have been on the autistic spectrum (I see a lot of myself in him), may be why he could never truly get along or be friends with either Dave or Sammy, why those collaborations crumbled over time.
I'm admittedly not really a Van Halen follower, but regardless of context, at least we can agree that Eddie has gotten too much undeserved hate. The drama of that "fandom" (lol) seems... wild, to say the least. MJ fans can get fiery sometimes, this absolutely includes myself, but I can't ever see his true fans actually trash talking him. The only real MJ trash talkers I usually encounter are either casuals who claim to be bigger fans than they actually are, or simply straight up haters.

I really gotta say, the MJ detractors that really piss me off the most are the ones that when you present all the court documents and all the facts that would absolutley clear MJ's name from any wrongdong, they'll just say "Well you're only defending Michael because you're a fan of his music." And I take that comment as a concession. They don't have any counter-arguments so they just use a thought terminating cliche against MJ fans.

so who have we got now ,

edit- great that it is such a short list, plus this thread has been festering for years as well and not many names have came up. i might have commented on richard marx before but i can vouch that one is a penis because i called him out on twitter as well once.

And it's often simply incorrect, as well. Before I became convinced of Michael's innocence, I wasn't even a fan to begin with (was never a guilter, more of a doubter). It wasn't until I did thorough research that I realized he was innocent all along. It started with a simple pity, and... Well, here I am, lol. And that's not changing anytime soon.

Maybe he was mentioned already, but Bill Burr.

While during the LN craze he did kinda stand up for MJ when he said something like people jumping to conclusions, he's not here etc. He did say "I'm not saying I believe he's innocent" or some shit, and he also mocked him, but I guess there's that.

However, during his latest show for Netflix he went batshit crazy about LN. He hasn't seen it, but now it's him jumping to conclusions, how he fondly remembered being a fan when he was younger, but can't really now. I'm gonna refrain from saying what he said about babies and so on. Horribly disgusting and honestly shouldn't even be allowed.

Who's the actual sick mofo? Jesus.

Kinda want to say Brooke Shields too. In a recent interview she said she wishes she knew the truth about the allegations. At that point I'm just done. She was on his side at the funeral, but now with these two assholes W+J she says this. Lady, nothing has changed. These two are basically another Arvizo.

And she should know better than to bother with tabloids. The article claims she was 13 at the time they dated and he was 20. The tabloids know what they are doing.

And if that quote about Elton John is true, lol. He's the one calling someone else a fruitcake? Lmfao.

I think Brooke has been put up to that you know. Just something does not feel right.

I was never convinced by that, tbh.

Tbf, I think the word 'date' is being used to mean innocent teenage stuff.

"She became friends with Michael Jackson when she was 13, largely because they understood each other, and could be one another's dates to big award shows. 'He was so famous and I was so famous, and we could laugh at everybody, like little kids,' she says."

And then Brooke says this:

"Mom encouraged friendships with people like George Michael, Michael Jackson and John Travolta because [Teri] was impressed by their genuinely sweet natures as well as their level of fame ... They did not pose a threat to her."

I was more bothered by her comment about Michael's appearance. " ... before the shift." What is she talking about? Plastic surgery? The vitiligo? I'm not sure but her vocab choice is unhelpful and frankly weird. To put it mildly.

I'm not sure, wendi. There was definitely something weird about the interview, I agree. Problem is, Brooke is, how old? In her 50's? I don't really pay attention to her but I do know she's been at this game a long time. She must know how to deal with this stuff by now. She would know the LN question would come up unless she specifically states that the question is off limits. Her reply was bizarre and I can't see why it needed to be so weird.

I've read it three times. It's just a weird interview - or the Michael section is. I just wish she had said 'No Comment' and moved things forward. Or just blocked the question in advance.

Somthing feels very off. she is usually open and with a say, smiley persona ? if that makes sense.... seems shes very expressionless in this, the interview has a neggative vibe already . its like shes playing up to it , or been asked to play up to that-making it the worse it could be -yeah the choice of words gave away something was not right here.

the implications here 😶
The whole thing with Brooke's mother is off-the-chart weird. I think Brooke's anecdote here was meant to reassure us that, although she was very young, there was nothing going on with her and these older 'escorts', if I can put it like that. It was all very innocent and friendly. But I think we're meant to understand, also, that the mother didn't want anyone around Brooke who would compete with her, Teri, as the main person who influences Brooke. Can't be sure but I think that's what we're being told.

I don't understand the whole thing with Brooke's mother. Or any part of Brooke's story, tbh. Very Hollywood, very weird. :(

I really do wonder if there is some kind of secret code amongst A-list celebs that defending Michael Jackson and/or Johnny Depp is somehow "bad for your image"

Whats even more fucked up is that even with the massive wave of support that Johnny Depp got during the defamation trial that wholly and completely exonerated him, the media still runs with this narrative that Amber's telling the truth and Johnny's a wife beater who got away with it because of misogyny in society.

Inspired by the topic "Richard Marx trashes MJ" - I think we should make a list of all the people, who have said horrible things about MJ through the years. I think it's nice to know, that an actor you might consider watching a movie from, actually trashed MJ... ex. Rupert Everett - not that I think he makes any great movies.... he called Michael a freak btw... and he is SO UGLY HIMSELF.... URRRRGGGGHHH

Let's go:

Oprah Winfrey
Eminem
Rupert Everett
Jarvis Cocker
Daniel Radcliffe
James Cordon

I post an ex. here, because I was schocked at James Cordons words about Michael: (What a looser)

Let's not get into every story here..... we know what happened... ofcourse if you don't then.... ask....

Continue the list.....
i know!!! i know that michael doesnt like hate, but i HATE rupert everett. Michael is so beautiful how could he say that?! :( and also what did daniel radcliffe do?

Katt Williams
Robin Williams
Joan Rivers

George Michael and Cher (although I try to keep that separate because I was a huge fan).

Surprised at James Cordon. He comes off as a super "fan-boy". So does Jimmy Kimmel and he pulled plenty of stunts during the trial days.

I think it's also good to hear what was said or even the apology later to make up your own mind.
i thought cher liked the jacksons? they did a show together. What did she, george michael, james cordon, and jimmy kimmel do? i tried searching but couldnt figure it out. :/
