Thriller 3D Update

Why a Jack Black film?

Didn't he insult Michael at a MTV awards show?

Makes you wonder should the MJ Estate allow MJ's work to be associated with those people who made fun of him during his darkest hour?

He's just starring in it. It's not like it's his film is it?

I'm not concerned about his presence. I think it'll be funny when people get up to leave after Thriller haha

What MTV and Jack Black did could be considered as bullying. If he did that today, Jack's career would suffer irreparable damage.

Why would they do that? Jack's last movie Jumanji made close to a billion dollars at the box office. Even if people do get up and leave, they already paid their money, so that isn't hurting the film.

Why would they do that? Because they just came for Thriller, perhaps.

Are you attributing the success of Jumanji to Jack Black? If so I'd argue that the box office draw was The Rock.

I never said if people left, they'd 'hurt' the film.

There's still no word about where this will be shown other than the US. Michael being an international artist you'd assume this would be a worldwide event.

I'm not blaming the Estate but I think they should perhaps do their research before associating Michael's work with someone.

If it were up to me, I would show Thriller 3D before either Halloween or Venom (though I would love to have it go both ways if a deal could be reached with Universal & Sony). To me, that would actually make perfect business sense. Those two movies are both set for release in October, they're both destined to be big box-office hits and instead of coinciding with a movie that probably needs Thriller 3D to boost its ticket sales, it would coincide with one of two (or maybe both) highly-anticipated movies, one of them being the long-awaited return of Michael Myers (with the addition of Jamie Lee Curtis) and the other being the long-awaited solo film for not only one of Spider-Man's most popular enemies but also one of the most popular comic book characters in general.

it must be worldwide, cause this is THRILLER!!

The point is that it's unlikely that many people, depending on which city they live in, will pay up to $20 a ticket just to watch the Thriller video. Especially if they're taking multiple people. Some cinemas don't even have 3D screens or IMAX, so they will just show the standard version movie. It's mostly the multiplexes that have those. Is Thriller going to be shown with the regular version or just the 3D version.

What a hell of a surprise. Now hopefully it gets a standalone version on his youtube also

WOW. Looks so awesome! Surely they will release this on Blu Ray also won't they??

Can you guys believe it took almost 35 years for this to come out in HD. Unbelievable.

Yeah. I wasn't just talking about the US :p. Should have been more specific.

I don't think it even says in that trailer that it's just the US either.
