What's with the Thriller era version of For All Time?
The one in Thriller25 is apparently from the Bad or Dangerous Sessions, if I'm not mistaken.

From things I heard or read:
there isn't necessarily a version from the Thriller era. It may have been a song that was more or less written but not finalised.
I think the same went went with "Much too soon", song was around when Thriller was recorded, didn't make it on any album. I think, not because it wasn't good enough but because it didn't fit well on the albums, and the demo was recorded in 1994.

There is no thriller version. The song was written for the dangerous sessions.

Brice Najar: Can you tell us more about the creation of the track For All Time that was supposed to feature on the Dangerous album?

Michael Sherwood: Michael had called and he wanted a follow-up, something that was in the vibe of Human Nature and obviously something from Steve. We wrote several songs and one of them was For All Time. He was going to put it on the Dangerous album indeed and it was supposed to be the ballad. Michael recorded it and it was coming out really well so we were really excited. But then there was this kid, Ryan White, who died of a blood transfusion contracting AIDS, and it was very sad. Michael had this beautiful song called Gone Too Soon and it had to go on the record. So it kind of knocked our song off the Dangerous record. We were hoping that maybe it would be on the next record, then we hoped it would be on the next record and then we finally just gave up on it and continued writing. At some point Lionel Richie was approached and he was interested to perform it. Steve told me that they did a track for him with Nathan East and some other people but I never heard it and it never surfaced.

Brice Najar: It was eventually released in 2008 on the Thriller 25 record. Do you know why it was actually chosen for that project? How did it feel when you heard the news?

Michael Sherwood: Well, in 2005, maybe early 2006, we got a call from Michael saying that he was releasing the Thriller 25th anniversary record and that he would like to put For All Time on it. We were very surprised but we dusted it off and finished it up. It was 20 years later but you must never give up because you never know! It was a very pleasant surprise when Steve called me and said : « Are you sitting down? » I said : « No. » He said : « Sit down! » (laughs) Then I talked to Michael because I wanted to rewrite the verses. You know, 20 years later, I was a better writer so I said : « Can I please rewrite the verses? I love the chorus and the bridge, but I think the verses need a little more work. » But Michael said : « Oh, no, I want to keep it just like it is! » I said : « All right. » thinking to myself « You’re the King of Pop!… » (laughs)

Wow, there's so much bullshit on the Internet :)

(I mean what I heard/read about it, in my previous post, was apparently bullshit.)

Honestly it sometimes feels like being a part of the MJ online community is learning stuff and then swiftly unlearning it when more information comes to light :D

According to press reports, the ‘Days Of The Broken Hearted’ duet song exists and it is nearly complete (it was recorded in 2007).

Sony Music even asked Michael Jackson’s fans at one point to hashtag the song in order to release it as a new single.

You Were There (1985) (Michael Jackson)

That particular ‘This Is It’ rehearsal footage of over 80 hours is basically unreleasable.

Most of it shows Michael Jackson just walking, sitting, or even talking to the rest of the staff and crew (producers, directors, choreographers, dancers, etc), that is why it is never going to get a release.

Also, not all of these songs in this list exist in a finished state.

An interesting thing is that one producer who worked with Michael Jackson revealed that the singer recorded a lot of experimental (but unfinished) songs, such as African beats, children’s lullabies, or even country songs.

The producer went on saying that if this experimental music sees the light of day, then Michael Jackson’s fans will be shocked by the singer’s musical versatility.

Well, versatility is exactly something one can expect from some kind of genius...
In some interview, Michael mentioned that he knew what was going on in music, and not just for US but for the whole world.
But I didn't know that he went as far as recording many experimental things, that could be interesting to hear... (even as experimental/unfinished works)

Someone on this site heard MJs late songs & said they're mostly unfinished but out of this world. I hope we hear them one day!!

The Whitney Houston duet does not exist. Its just a BS rumour.

According to press reports, the ‘Days Of The Broken Hearted’ duet song exists and it is nearly complete (it was recorded in 2007).

Sony Music even asked Michael Jackson’s fans at one point to hashtag the song in order to release it as a new single.

i would cut my arms off to hear that buttttt i remember hearing it was a 90's duet not a 2000's i think babyface produced it

Whitney and Michael was suppose to do an duet but it didn't happen. it was something about her debut that her manger didn't want her to do i think. they was trying to do one during the 30th anniversary but didn't happen.

Yeah, it was for the 30th anniversary concerts. It was rehearsed but didn't end up happening at the actual show. Can't remember what song it was.

But Jermaine released 4 duets with Whitney)) Also a couple of duets have remained unreleased. One of those duets (Don't Look Any Further) was later recorded Dennis Edwards with Saida Garrett, which opened her way to the industry:D

I am not aware of such a duet produced by Babyface in the ‘90s.

Apparently you are referring to Rodney Jerkins who originally wrote and produced the ‘If I Told You That’ song as a duet for Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston in the late ‘90s.

Rodney Jerkins searched and found a male singer with a voice very similar to that of Michael Jackson’s voice, he also searched and found a female singer with a voice very similar to that of Whitney Houston’s voice, so as to record that demo duet.

So, Rodney Jerkins recorded that demo duet, which he later presented to Michael Jackson for consideration, but Michael Jackson dismissed the idea because he was not interested at that time in recording any duet with any artist.

‘If I Told You That’ eventually came out as a duet between George Michael and Whitney Houston in 2000.

wow i didn't know that. i actually like don't look any further but video is hilarious for it's time. that song been sample alot. i wonder why they never did one. it's been said jermaine and whitney kind of had a relationship and michael wasn't too happy about it. i'm not sure if that's true but it been a rumor. i would like to hear their unrelease official version one day.

At the time of working with Jermaine, Whitney was not yet such a star. At the beginning of their collaboration, Jermaine was considered a much more popular performer.

Michael seemed neutral (based on Jermaine's book).

Jermaine and Whitney had a slight crush on each other. At that time, Jermaine still treasured his marriage to Hazel, therefore, the relationship did not go further.

that would of been interesting. that kind of make whitney michael's aunt in someways if jermaine deicide to leave this marriage at the time. that's some pretty juicy stuff and history.
