Lexington's Thriller parade sees huge turnout

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It was way before midnight, but thrilling nonetheless! Downtown Lexington was packed Sunday evening for the annual Thriller parade.

Thousands showed up, and many people wore Halloween costumes. There was a variety of characters in attendance, from Harry Potter to the cast of HBO series Game of Thrones.

Infamous villains from horror movies also walked in the parade, which warmed crowds up for the much anticipated Thriller performance that followed.

People tell WKYT that they had a fun night getting into the Halloween spirit.

"It's awesome. Great people, everybody's having fun, some awesome costumes, a lot of the kids are dressed up," said one man dress as a scary clown named Calypso.

"My favorite part about Halloween is just like, spooking people out and like giving them candy and being all together," said a 7-year-old girl who dressed up as a member of the Lollipop Guild, as a part of her family's horror take on The Wizard of Oz.

If you were inspired by the parade or performance, you can volunteer to participate next year. Performers started practicing at the start of October.

Zombies boogie down to Thriller at Neverland Ranch

LOS OLIVOS, Calif. - Thriller Season has begun, and Zombies of all ages and abilities are performing the iconic dance during the world event, "Thrill the World."

More than a hundred people from far and near dressing in their Zombie finest to paid tribute to Michael Jackson at his Neverland Ranch in Los Olivos.

“It's a great way for me to connect with my friends, we all love and celebrate Michael and his Legacy. It's a fun Halloween tradition for the kids, ” said Michael Jackson fan Kiki Stafford.

Alina Clip came all the way from England to see the Neverland Ranch and experience the Thriller dance and tribute to Michael Jackson.

“My connection with Michael Jackson is being a fan since I was seven years old, ” said Clip.

The event was hosted by World Dance for Humanity, a local nonprofit that offers dance classes and brings aid to Genocide survivors in Rwanda and at-risk children in the community.

This is the eighth year World Dance hosted the event. Both children and adults showed their dance moves and enjoyed the Halloween themed event.
