Michael's Manhood Thread - 18+ (Read The First Post For Rules!)

Ok, so I just found this website and I'm obsessed with it. I love reading about Michael. Literally any element of his life. But this website, from what I can tell, is a collection of quotes from other people (some from Michael) talking about various aspects of his life. I am linking to the section about his relationships with women, because it seems most relevant to this thread. BUT I just read about half of the part about his "light/aura" and that is also amazing. I can't wait to check out the whole thing. I thought you all might like it :)

Yes, this is a lovely resource. I dip in and out. I think the Thoughts and Ideas bit is the bit I've looked at most often. That and the More about Michael bit. It's a very soothing space.

I just feel sad. Last night I had a really sad time regarding Michael. Somewhat related to this stuff, but otherwise just the normal stuff I get depressed about. I may just be extremely hyper sensitive. That's always been my problem

I’m lost here what leaked??? Personally, leaks don’t affect me because I’ve seen a lot of them since 2011, but it’s totally understandable to feel sad about it!

I know this isn't very Manhood but I just need to post this quote from the website. I love this little story, it's one of my faves:

"Michael is a very special man. He would come in for his lesson and sit down and we would have a prayer and then read the Bible and then have another prayer and start to work. That's the way he liked to begin his day. Can you imagine a performer as big as Michael Jackson turning around in a lesson and discussing how wonderful God has been to him and how much he loves God?"

"You know, there was one moment. I was playing a piano, and he was standing next to me. All of a sudden, he stretched his hands, looking upwards. It seemed to me that it was very important to him. That’s why I left the room and switched the light off. After half an hour I came back to the room. He was whispering: “Thank you for my talent. Thank you for everything I’ve got. Thank you for all the people who love me. Tell me what I should do, and I’ll do it.” It seemed to me that it was the moment of his communication with God."

Seth Riggs, a vocal teacher who worked with Michael for two hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week while Michael was recording Thriller and also on subsequent projects, commented on Michael's character in a Time Magazine article

Oh I love this story!! This is one of the ones I read that made me want to share the whole website with you all! I had never seen it before. Anyway, this story is beautiful. I genuinely feel like sometimes when I watch Michael perform, I see some kind of greater spiritual, or Godly connection he has to the universe than (for me) anyone else I've ever seen. I am not a religious person in the slightest, but I'm very spiritual and I feel like Michael's connection to the universe and God and whatnot is doing things to me. It is changing my perspective on things. It's interesting...

Anyway thanks for highlighting this one! I love it :)

Ok, so real talk here. Michael's hair during the Thriller and Bad eras.... omfg. I could scream into my pillow. I probably should! I have perhaps never been more obsessed with a physical feature of another human as I am with Michael's hair. Especially Bad era, with the curls, and all. None of this is shocking to anyone lol. But Michael touching his hair makes me DREAM about touching his hair. I just want to experience everything there is to experience with his hair lol. 🥵 😂

PS: You posted amazing pics from all eras! I just can't shake the Bad. I can't. He was SO SEXY during OTW, Thriller, Dangerous, HIStory, and his later years. But Bad has a chokehold on me. I CANNOT COPE. And I fear/hope I will never recover. It is all very confusing lol.

Sorry for the confusion! Quick update just so you know what happened - a couple days ago some mic feed from the HWT Munich show leaked. It proved a couple of things 1) that Michael was never actually lip syncing and actually sang the whole time under playback (which, tbh, I thought was already confirmed because didn't he write about that in Moonwalk??) 2) that he was struggling with his health in some way, because the vocals demonstrated that his voice wasn't healthy, and it general did not in anyway reflect his actual talent (which, again, was something we knew...). But the difference is that these vocals were never meant to be heard at all. They were beneath playback and, presumably, something he did to make for a better performance. However when they leaked, they started to be shared very widely in the fan community and some fans were disrespectful, kind of mocking Michael, and just generally sharing and resharing it, spreading the footage pretty far.

I had a lot of frustration and sadness with all of this for a lot of different reasons, which I will put aside for now. But that's basically what happened. From what I can tell, most of these have been taking down by the estate responding very quickly to fans requesting they be taken down out of respect for Michael.
 
Ladies, I have a request that I think could be kind of fun:

So my best friend knows I'm crazy about Michael, but we live far apart and haven't spent much time together in person this year. The other day I was texting her about wanting to write that book on Michael's sex appeal and how to his fans, he is basically the ultimate sex symbol. She was very supportive of me, but she said she absolutely has never seen him as a sex symbol (which I understand because as far as I know she knows nothing about Michael except the bad stuff and I've hardly educated her on him since we don't see each other much, and she hasn't shown a lot of interest). But now...

I mean. I am committed to this goal, you all. I am committed to getting every woman I know to see Michael for what he truly is to all of us lol. I don't know why, but this is my major mission of 2022. She told me she thinks he is cute in the Thriller era (in fairness, I think the only eras she knows are Thriller and like the 2000s, so she doesn't realize all she is missing out on in between!). But like, who doesn't think he was cute in the Thriller era?! He was the perfect dream boyfriend in the Thriller era. He was the coolest human being to exist. He laughed and smiled while eating popcorn and ruined my life forever!! What's not to love?!

Anyway.

I feel like I didn't see Michael as drop dead sexy until I started watching him perform live. So I am wondering if maybe you'd all be interested in sharing the performances that first made you see Michael as sexy! When did it hit you and what made it so apparent to you?? Also, it could be literally any performance you think he is sexy in too. That's fine. But really, just any performances that stand out to you as hyper sexy are what I'm looking for!!

PS: It should go without saying that Michael was sexy constantly, so choosing is incredibly challenging. If it were up to me, I would just slot all of 1987-1990 into her vision and let the rest be history. But such is not a possibility so...

I will start!! For me, the first time I think the words "God, he is sexy..." entered my brain was during the '93 AMA performance of Dangerous and during Smooth Criminal in Munich during HWT. Both of these performances are just exceptionally, insanely cool, and for me coolness is directly in line with sexiness. I still shiver when I watch these. I still want to scream out and cry and pray to God and well, you know the rest...

Gah! I feel like a proper meanie (and also now sound about 12 years old, lol). I kept meaning to come back to this just to emphasise how much I would not wanna get involved in this. Although I also want to emphasise how cool I think it would be if you did this. I think you have found your project and I think you are the person to do it. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I think anyone would have any interest AT ALL in using any of my mad, incoherent ramblings about Michael. But I am very pedantic and like to cross all the 't's' and all the 'i's'.

But it's a great idea so you def should do it. And it's probably the only fantasy that could actually work. Mine can't for obvious reasons. In fact, my fantasy doesn't even work as a fantasy. It's losing its grip on me. 🙁

Slightly off-topic but I think it would be interesting if someone researched the media coverage of Michael and traced when it started to go bad and what, if anything, triggered that. It sort of links in to your idea but is slightly off to the side, iyswim. We know from Charles Thomson that at least one UK newspaper pretty much instructed their journalists to write lies about Michael to make him look bad. I can't remember which episode of MJ Cast it was but that's where I heard this.

Oh, you have nothing to worry about I promise you! First, it is unlikely this will ever happen lol. But if it does, I promise it would not include any material from the actual thread here. I was mostly kidding when I said that anyway. I would never do anything like that...this is a safe space :)
